huey253 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 thanks, i also didn't think of webnail as a counter to 6A i'll practice it soon
iw2ma Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Oh and you obviously should've attempted your Astral at the end there, block his obvious block strings, jump out, dash in and Astral, i guarantee it would've hit him lol.
huey253 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 hehe, i actually have huge TOURNEY nerves so that probably wouldn't happen. i think my i just dropped my 6B combo, but i'm pretty sure it could've killed. i really appreciate all the comments, tryin to level up before i go to jp land
iw2ma Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) Ya if you ended your 6b combo with a 5a 5b air whatever with CRASH it would've killed. Lol cmon dude I ended my first out of state tourney with an Astral in the grand finals. DO IT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfQ33aXEzFU#t=9m14s Edited November 9, 2010 by iw2ma
rei-Scarred Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 idk, seemed pretty safe jumping around doing nothing at the time. This ain't CT boy. We strong on the ground now
Lord Cruxis Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 thanks, i also didn't think of webnail as a counter to 6A i'll practice it soon Oh man a few more notes. Webnail block strings amaziiinngg versus tager and hakumen, say you do (5a 5b 2b D nails) xN well, replace D nails once and awhile with C nails, and it screws them up horribly. Hakumen can try to do his drive and since your web nails are slow, he miss times it and bam dead and agaisnt tager, same deal. Block string, thinks you're doing it to much trys to do 720 during block string, it'll come out but you'll be considered in the air for so long doing webnail, that'll hit first and free combo. You may also try tiger knee astral....but I'm definitely almost 80% sure they'll see that coming since you're flashing letting them know its coming, sooo webnail is the for sure way to go.
huey253 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 i play againist kaigu alot. and air footsies and defense are the best parts of my bang, so i'll continue doing it
rei-Scarred Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 but you didn't do air footsies, you jumped and didn't do anything 5 times in a row o-o
rei-Scarred Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 What could you possibly be trying to put in their head with something so stupid? Give the a false sense of you being free? I thought that's what Huey25Free was for...
huey253 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 PNW calls me that, i didn't actually sign up as that. idk i just like jumping around
rei-Scarred Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 To be fair so do I, but I do a lot more jumping towards the opponent than away. (at least at neutral)
huey253 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 idk man, i just like doing random stuff to confuse people... it works. also everybody that was watching was LOL hi dacid when i was doing jA x N in the second round. i dunno though. my 2B in the first round was pretty balsy, and i knew he was dead from it
huey253 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 oh, it was strange watching me play... i thought i was playing pretty good when i actually played my match, but after watching video of myself play for the first time in a long time, it opened my eyes and I realized that I drop combos. it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but i started comparing myself to other bangs in jp, who usually don't drop combos and have a really solid pressure compared to myself just jumping around in my spare moments... so last night, i played casuals for like 6 hours, and realized...that i still drop combos, even when i'm thinking about it.... So the grind to "perfection" (near it) will start for me soon. i feel like i should blog about this or something lol.

ZONG_one Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Yeah, just like command throw > RC > dropped combo in tournament, right Dacid?
huey253 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 i didn't really care because i could beat almost anybody in america anyways. but since i'll be making a trip to japan soon, i figure its a good time to be better than the rest :3
iw2ma Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Lol how can you even say that without playing everybody?
ZONG_one Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I could beat 95% of american players. And I haven't played everyone. lol. :] When it comes to actual serious competitive level players, sure, the percentage shrinks, but you know.
iw2ma Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 LOL I guess that's true of me as well when you put it that way.
rei-Scarred Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 lol I didn't bring up the fact that you were dropping combos in that video cause I thought you knew and itd be pointless to bring it up. But yeah if you play on stick, that's probably why. Learn pad and you'll never drop a combo again, peace.
ZONG_one Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 But yeah if you play on stick, that's probably why. Learn pad and you'll never drop a combo again, peace. I lol'd.
zeth07 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 But yeah if you play on stick, that's probably why. Learn pad and you'll never drop a combo again, peace. All jokes aside, it could potentially be true to some degree. On the controller you're just using your thumb for the directions, so something like 623B is relatively simple no matter what direction you do it. While on stick, depending on what kinda grip you use, there is an actual physical difference from how it feels to do 623B on the right side or left side. I personally was having trouble doing 623B while on the right side, super jumps while on the left side, and now dash>2D or dash>2B while on the right side. It isn't an issue of timing or knowledge of the combo that causes me to mess it up every now and then, it is the actual physical execution because it does in fact feel different (to me). Needless to say I don't have much of a problem with the 623B's at least anymore because I realized I was messing up and made that mental note about the difference. So now i'm much more methodical about it. That's just me though.
ZONG_one Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I would drop combos on pad. I'm just sayin..
