Hmm haven't heard of Deus. Have you heard of TMN? I suspect he's the best in Canada but he hasn't played in ages due to worthless internet on his end. But then I haven't been to the IaMP community in over a year so things have probably changed a lot since then.

I always sucked at IaMP so I'm not even in the picture. XD

I just realized something. What consequences will the incident between North and South Korea have for John? I mean, if North Korea fucks up again, South Korea promised to retaliate. China, North Korea's biggest ally, wouldn't like that. Then Japan and the United States would have to get involved. Damn. I would really like to avoid World War III.

im hoping it goes down quietly, and i dont really think china will be so open to supporting north korea, because they aren't really "great" friends, and already japan and us have voiced their opinions on the attack and how it was completely uncalled for

I dont think china wants to get on everybody's bad side, and hope this goes down without a large scale war, although i think SK to NK war is bound to happen at this point, seeing as how NK attacked civilians.

But then again im just some kid with hs level politics, so ww3 might happen

Yea seriously, i don't see how this war benefits anyone. Not only are they wasting resources, but they also drag down their economy by doing this. NK is just F'ed up. Unless they're little country has something surprising that can take out like every other country, I don't see how they'll get very far with this. Or they just really, really wanted a more realistic game of starcraft...sorry, stereotyping again...

I saw on the news that Kim Jong Il's son was recently appointed general of the North Korean army, and he ordered those maneuvres just to prove he meant business. So basically 4 people died because he felt like waving his dick around. Fucking asshole.

World War I and II stimulated industrial and economic growth back in the 20th century, but the same isn't true anymore. The United States was haemorrhaging money during the Iraq War, something like $1 billion a week. A bloated defense budget contributed to the economic collapse we're still feeling the effects of today.

Since I subscribe to The Economist and actually follow politics, markets, and world news...

North Korea is in the midst of changing its leadership because of Kim's sudden ill health. His youngest son (the 3rd, the other two have been... disappointments) has taken on the title of General and been appointed as the DPRK leader.

Now, China has usually been seen as NK's ally, but this isn't really the case, their relationship is a bit more complex and has to do with China not wanting US troops near their border (SK has US bases, taking over NK implies a close US army and this makes China nervous). Or that's what I gather, at least. What's for certain is that even China is wary of NK for being very erratic in behavior.

That said, Kim had 10 years to establish his position as Dear Leader, whereas not so with his relatively unknown 26y-old kid, so there is internal strife. From articles I'm reading, it's being speculated that the attack on SK was either the ol' chip of the block flexing his muscles or the result of internal disputes.

If it's the latter, NK is done for. Famine, poverty and a now acknowledgedly disgruntled population will turn on the ruling party any time soon. The recent economic crisis and collapse of the NK currency in 2009 does not help.

But if it's the kid flexing his muscles, then it's a new set of penor~waving to get concessions. Kind of a petulant act to get the country's way with the rest of the world (which has, let's admit, worked well for NK in the past).

Whatever the case, I doubt WWIII is on our doorstep -- NK is too disorganized, disunited, and poor to sustain an assault. They do have nukes, and that's the big worry. But whether or not WWIII will happen is another thing entirely. This isn't the machiavellian Germany of WWII, more like a formerly fat kid who used to be bullied in HS and who now waves a gun in the hallways. Crazy and dangerous, but not for long.

Of course, take the above with a grain of salt since I'm just reiterating what I read. I'm no expert.

North Korea won't go to large scale war with south Korea.

The reason they are firing is to threat the western country , for more international supply and aid. Like food and basic human needs.

2nd, many people are thinking mr. Kim wants his son to gain some military stats for being tough and attacking south Korea. After all mr. Kim is getting old with illness. He wants to power level his son before he dies.

and china will always support north korea

2) north korea is the gate to china when it comes to milatry invasion from the east, ie japan.. check out the map. china doesn't want the gate to go down. u can say ppl can come from other direstions. well u got the mountains from india, ppl doesn't come from the poor countries from south, and china got his ex-brother russia on top. u have the pacific ocean from the east , except japan. so north korea is a very impoartant peice of land to protect.

now do u still wonder why north korea can last for so long when the big american are so damn powerful for so many decades? look at middle east,, takes couple years and all thier black gold are all taken, pumping like no tml.
