Hazama/Carl/Arakune/Hakumen/Tager pretty much stay the same with slight nerfs. Then again, it's still just the first loketest so the changes are far from being final.

Hateraid Red Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 wow...no more wall bounce on 623b for air and ground... how will bang's combos even work lol especially if 5b and 2b are slower... will they even gatling at that point? i imagine every combo will take at least 2 web nails.. which isn't bad, but..... yeah. at least it didn't say anything about frkz! funny part is... as long as my gatlings combo the same, i can easily combo into 3 seals or do the regular bumper combo i have for 2 seals + bumper oki for 2.3k. so although regular bang will take a damage nerf overall, if they don't change frkz. bang will be top still, or at least high.

They added more gatlings without staff, so it'll probably just shift some of her combos around a bit - Her damage wasn't decreased, and neither was her meter gain, and those two things are what make her scary. Seems like they just made it a bit harder to hit confirm into her combos (since you have to RC 6A combos). God knows WHY they made Ada's gauge recover slower - it's already really annoying as is. Hopefully they'll either make her gauge bigger to start with or do something else to balance it out, because he already depends entirely on Ada as it is - making it harder for him to use her will make his game suffer. I'm actually pretty mad about Lambda's changes - hey I know, let's make her SLOWER. I already have a hard enough time catching people with swords, and now I have to be psychic? No thanks. All I have to say about Tsubaki is FUCK YEAH INSTANT STOCKS. Also, all Makoto loses with parry cancel is her retarded midscreen meter gain/damage - she's still ridiculous in the corner, since they didn't change any of her other normals, it seems.

Ryd' Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Making staffless j.C techable hurts a lot of her combos/loops. At least most of the ones I've seen. This kinda implies a damage nerf. If lower level on 6D means what I think it means, that means less hit/blockstun, which means weaker pres--ohwait, IB is stupidly good so that's a moot point anyway. Staff 6A nerf is only a moderate nerf to the stupid changes they made to it in CS. I'm not sure if it still has manten return state built in (if that exists at all anymore); if it does, then meterless combos are still possible. If not, then damage loss at sub-50% meter, possibly coupled with j.C changes. Regardless, nothing of significance has really changed, so I'm still not particularly interested.

So overall I like the chages, although there's some things I do disagree on, like the Tao changes. I think the Carl nerf was interesting, but reasonable and Makoto: Obvious, Litchi and Bang, yay, of course they didn't mention a damn thing about Bang's 5a, but, if they nerfed 5b then I guess it's enough along with all the other nonsense. Like Mehraj said, you note the amount of changes for Rachel and you can tell she needed work but Tsubaki had almost just as many. I do like the changes on Tsubaki but it seems like they're making it so that she doesn't have to spend half her game pushing the opponent away to get meter, it looks like she can spend more time on oki now. If 236A doesn't have any valid followups after a combo then you'll always end up right next to your opponent so thank god you get a meter instantly. Also the lack of float on the 214 moves is a moot point since you can't combo into them out of a throw anymore, but I like how they made her already terrible DP worse, whatever.. another moot point. I my thoughts in a nutshell: I'm fucking excited.

I never really liked it, but i had to learn it cause its THE best thing you can possibly do midscreen. Now maybe we'll see the cool midscreen stuff like 5d(lvl2) RC, 66236A D(lvl3), combo to corner. Basically, instead of parry looping midscreen, maxing out mana, and finishing the round with 2x overdrive, we'll get to see some RC's midcreen to get some damage in. I honestly don't know what half the changes mean for most of hte chars, but lol at lamda. her swords are already a shadow of what v13 had, and i have enough trouble rembering to start them early enough in combos right now. and now they're even slower. Finally, from the platinum screen, it seems terribly terribly unlikely she will be a zappa clone. But she IS short, so low hitboxes maybe? maybe zappa? Tho the giant hammer kinda ruins it, unless its raoh... man i want edguy.

All these changes made to Ragna doesn't affect me thankfully! LOL This seems to be a pretty good balance and I think BB will just be even more fun now!

I'm glad they buffed Rachel a bit but I don't wanna see any CT nonsense again, I really hope she stays at best mid tier.

Synthesis Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 As of now with Rachel's buffs, she gets her 7 - 3 matchup back against Tager. =/ j.A as overhead gives her safe, airtight overheads off 5B which also gatlings into 2B. This is a 50/50 that now resets into itself with j.2C being cancelable upon landing. Example: j.A j.3DC land 5B 50/50 rinse and repeat.
