Chumaralupa Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 Ruben, do you mind if I send you my cell number in a private message? Ahh yeah gurl
LegendaryRath Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 To keep myself from going crazy without my computer, I'm finally playing Persona 3 FES. Dayum, this game is good. Ruben, I'll send you that private message after I get home tonight.
Zeromus_X Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Ryan, if you have a PSP you should get Persona 3 Portable. You can actually control the party so you don't have to deal with MARIN FUCKING KARIN. Plus you get to listen to the MShe's totally hot battle music if you play as her. Also apparently GG won't be out on PSN until next week or even later, major sadness.
Ryd' Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I prefer FES for the MC's path; it just feels more fleshed out due to the little things cut from P3P, and it's nice to be able to see scenes played out. Battles also aren't completely free due to the mechanic differences (there's more than just direct party control vs assigning tactics for the AI). Marin Karin and similar aren't a problem once you get access to the pure offense tactics; what remains an issue is that certain skills (MIND CHARGE) will remain on the AI's table, so there's still a chance something may live a bit longer than it should have (which may get you killed). P3P is way too easy; playing on the hardest difficulty, the only things that are remotely challenging are the non-story related content. Mass Destruction, as bad as it is, is still better than that other shit. FemC's social links are the only reason to play P3P imo.
LegendaryRath Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I actually like the AI. It's stupid at times, but pretty good for the most part. Besides, the game would be wayyyyyyy too easy if you could control everything your team did. Most games these days aren't difficult. It's nice to actually be challenged, even if it's an RPG.
Synthesis Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Guys, new Arcana Heart 3: See you in 6-8 months.
Zeromus_X Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) The AI definitely got more tolerable once you have access to all the command settings, but it still added a significant level of artificial difficulty to the game, which is more apparent when you go through P3P to compare, despite the "easier" P4 battle mechanics like dizzies, multi-hits granting One More turns, etc. I mean, when I play an RPG, especially a turn-based one, I want to actually control my party members, this ain't Dragon Quest IV. Skill cards were admittedly kind of broken, but I definitely enjoyed not having to shuffle through the fusion menu a billion times to get the skills I want. Fighting Margaret and the EX boss rush was definitely a lot more fun than Elizabeth too. I think overall I enjoyed P3P more, but FES might be a better experience for someone playing the game for the first time with all the animated cutscenes and such. Besides, the game would be wayyyyyyy too easy if you could control everything your team did. Most games these days aren't difficult. You say this now, but wait until you fight Sleeping Table. Guys, new Arcana Heart 3: See you in 6-8 months. Where were you when I posted the link to that lol? Hope it gets a console release. Edited October 31, 2012 by Zeromus_X
Valthazeryus Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Guys, new Arcana Heart 3: See you in 6-8 months. Why? Are you hibernating for 6 to 8 months and not talking to anybody in the mean time?
Chumaralupa Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 Ted when does the update come out?
Greyvangelist Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 man, is it really going to take 6-8 months before people stop playing? My guess was way shorter :V
Zeromus_X Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 So I succumbed and bought 2 1000 yen PSN cards off PlayAsia, just waiting for the codes to come in my email. There will be GG at Ruben's this Friday.

Training in the dark corners of PSN, I'm guessing? Or is that the expected release time? Edited November 2, 2012 by M19Kamikaze
Chumaralupa Posted November 1, 2012 Author Posted November 1, 2012 So for tomorrow, anytime after 6pm should work, if the EVO monitor I'm getting shipped shows up tomorrow I may have to push it back a bit and run an errand, but we'll see. I have 4 screens regardless and my Xbox and PS3, Erik is bringing his PS3 for GG, so we could still use one more console (preferably PS3 since that's what everyone has a stick for), and everyone bring a stick. I posted my address and directions a few pages back, I'll go find it and append it to this post. Yeah, so my new address is 7250 S Kyrene Rd. Tempe AZ 85283 Apt 330 basially take Guadalupe/Elliot to Kyrene and go south/north respectively, if you use mapquest or something it'll tell you to take the entrance on Kyrene, what you actually wanna do is take Grove parkway which is basically the only light right smack between Elliot and Guadalupe and go West on it (the only option) and then make the first left into the first set of apartments, any uncovered spot is fine. If you can't find parking there then you'll have to go in the main entrance on Kyrene and find some parking to the right.
Valthazeryus Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I can drop off my PS3 at your house if you want. But I won't be able to pick it up until Sunday.
Omegashrimp Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Oh shit. My account has been validated by getting quoted in a sig. Save yourself the trouble, Jimmy. I can bring my PS3 if no one else will and I usually stay late.
dejixal Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Maybe I should instead, to save you the drive back home after you get done at ASU.
Synthesis Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Training in the dark corners of PSN, I'm guessing? Or is that the expected release time? No, because I have friends who play the game. I'm just messing around in training mode for now, figuring out new Liese Arcana combinations. I'm working on Tone and Water right now. Really liking the water command grab. I can use it in tick throw setups if I think they'll disrespect the command throw: 6B j.E 2A/Water Command Throw/Command Throw xxx 236E (cover with e.5C) dash pressure. xxx j.CE 236E IAD e.5C crossup into 623E knockdown with a 236E re-set. EDIT: I forgot about this tick throw!!!! =D 5A (1 hit) 632146A =D Edited November 2, 2012 by Synthesis
Greyvangelist Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 5A>throw sounds incredibly underwhelming
Theupstreamer Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 5A>throw sounds incredibly underwhelming Shhhhhh don't say anything and he'll stop talking about it.
