Brian, isn't that the same patch the arcade version got a while back? I think that's the same version we got in the console update.

I feel like Yukiko should be buffed, but I don't know enough about the char to say exactly what. Just as long as she doesn't become Eddie tier.

This is my believe for all characters regarding nerfs and buffs.

If you're going to take something away, you need to replace it with something that fills the same role, to the effect that was originally intended. Simply removing stuff is how you end up with EX Makoto.

Since they seem to be adding new moves to each character and changing things as fundamental as the autocombos, I'm willing to have faith. We wont know where all the characters will end up until we can actually play the game for ourselves. It's just a loketest after all. Stuff can, and probably will, change.

edit: I'm mostly just hoping that they succeed in breathing lots of new life into this game. I'm so hype for this right now. It seems like most people at the loketest REALLY feel like this is a brand new game, far from just a patch. I'm hoping we all get the same feeling.

You don't have to worry about that much. P4A's mechanics make utilizing most of Yukiko's unblockable setups more of a guessing game than a "you're gonna get fucked; bend over" option. Opting not to tech will beat everything except dropping SB Agi on you; Maragi and high/lows will tap you for negligible damage and let you escape. That opens up a whole separate game of trying to read each other, though I'm completely okay with that.

The problem with this is when you have a character that has something they were never supposed to have, like Chie's full screen meteors. A character whose whole gameplan is "get in and push your shit in" should never have a ridiculously braindead method for getting in that is +eleventybillion f on block. Things like FB Puffball and Slayer's DoT are bad enough on their own, but not on the level of absurdity that Chie has (except where if Slayer lands CH DoT, you're gonna die. That's a little silly.) You could take away her full screen shit, and she'd still be a more than viable character. She already has sufficient mobility to get around just about everything, she doesn't need something to bend you over so she can leisurely walk in and do whatever the hell she wants.

Shadow versions of every character is going to be insane, with this much more content I can't see it being just a patch. Hopefully it comes out around when it starts getting cooler out, I'll host the living fuck out of my apartment once CP comes out and then maybe take a couple weeks break before P4AU2+XCRT20131/2Edition comes out.

Unless Chris wants to like, take turns or something for BBCP

Oh man, I really hope they rebalance Labrys. All her moves are too good and beat out most of my Mitsuru moves.

Who do you play in p4a? Really, I'm curious.

Oh god I just now noticed the new SFX. At least it's not nearly as jarring as BBCP.

Edit: Omg, Naoto might have a real DP now. Don't need to catch an attack to shoot afterward anymore.

It seems likely that it'll be similar to Ex and get it's own release, it's just not confirmed yet.

Yeah it's really sounding like it's going to a be a new game instead of a patch update. All the Japanese tweeters use the kanji for "sequel" when tweeting P4U news.

Yeah I guess they really wanna make your hits more audible for the arcade environment, maybe cp and this game won't be as obnoxious on console.

They reeeeeeally want Liz to use the force-awakening super, it looks like there will probably be several ways to one hit kill people with enough meter. Those awakening moves look ridiculous.

So one of Yukiko's reported changes is being able to hold and release Maragi. This could mean one of three things:

-Typo; nothing changed.

-Functions like Agi now: pops immediately unless held. Makes the C version less annoying since you don't have to perform any additional actions in order to pop it now (previously, manual pop meant inputting another C move since Yukiko recovered before the wave really got anywhere).

-Complete overhaul of the move: Input the move to create the wave that travels on its own, hit the button again to manually pop, hit and hold to lock the wave and delay the pillar release? If this is true, she might be able to create a whole new type of obstacle course. Also, something closer to MBCC F-Akiha shit.

And she goes up to lv 9 now. Because that's what she needed. Really though, all this did was make SB Boost somewhat tempting to actually use. You still want to make sure you're sitting on at least 25SP at all times since it doesn't seem like they did anything to her combo avenues, so you're still dependent on Maragi into SB Agi to do anything. I'm curious about the intended purpose of her new move since, at a glance, it doesn't do anything she couldn't already do. Phoenix super seems like a nice stfu though.

It's not set in stone yet, but that's a definite possibility :(

Atlus also stated that the previous region lock was an isolated incident and they weren't making it company policy. Since p4a was released identically on consoles within 2 weeks of each other at very different price points, it could have affected sales in one of the territories if it wasn't region locked.
