LegendaryRath Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 here's just what I've noticed so far damage Damage chip DAMAGE instant overheads invul teleport reversal, without CH state oki EASY oki legit hour 4 unblockable setups multi-hitting air to ground normals multiple instant overheads instant overheads that fatal THIS THIS edit: plus SKD might give up on Izayoi for her
Valthazeryus Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 All of a sudden, I have erectile dysfunction for this game. What's the next game we're playing again that was on the list again? Akiba's Trip 2, right?
Chumaralupa Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 I wonder if the Ice Blast ruins Barrier as much as Amane's Lvl3 Drills.
Zeromus_X Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 GGs everyone. Many dunks were had. Kokonoe looks really good, but let's give it some time before proclaiming she's broken. If worst comes to worst Arcsys will make an emergency patch like they did for CS1 Makoto Parry Loop. Edit: Freeze gun does rape barrier, but not quite as much as level 3 drill, only about half of the barrier gauge.
LegendaryRath Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Freeze gun does rape barrier, but not quite as much as level 3 drill, only about half of the barrier gauge. I was somehow expecting less. What I'm worried about with Kokonoe is how good she could end up being. Until my soul is crushed in a set with one, I'm going to just ignore her. Dang though. I was already thinking they needed to do a "minor" patch to maybe make Kagura's p2 values not all 100. Maybe if things are really bad with Kokonoe, then they'll be forced to do something small. Arcades don't have the patch yet right? Perhaps they'll do something then. and I'm also hating myself for thinking that she might be fun...
Orrax Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Maybe we should just consider her a joke, console-only, non-tournament character. Like Kliff and Justice before +R. Is she even in the arcade version?
NitroFrost Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hey guys GGs last night. I had a good time. Got to play match ups I never have played before. Learn some good lessons and started to remember a lot of stuff. I really need a stick to continue practicing with Hakumen but we will see what cyber-monday holds for me. I look forward to making it out to more events. Until next time. - Steve
Valthazeryus Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Maybe we should just consider her a joke, console-only, non-tournament character. Like Kliff and Justice before +R. Is she even in the arcade version? http://blazblue.jp/cp/chara.html Nope. CS (Console) and DLC only. No AC (Arcade). So you're right. Along with Kagura and Terumi.
i2agnarok Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 GGz, gents. I played slightly less like ass. Hack-Man is pretty sweet. I'd like to play him or Kagura. I've come to accept that I will never actually sit and practice enough to achieve my dream of playing Tao. Also, after actually playing against Bullet, it SEEMS like she has pretty good normals, but it was my first time fighting her (and Relius) at all, so I might just not know what I'm doing. Looks like fun. The ranbat is inevitable.
Zeromus_X Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 So apparently if you barrier the freeze gun, you can punish it. You can IAD to punish or use a move like Blood Scythe to move forward and catch the recovery. Mu can even 6C FC it lolol. I think Bullet's normals are pretty good too. The only problem is that she has to haul her big ass around. It's all worth it when you dunk somebody though.
Ryuuka Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Her name is Koko she is... slightly less loco than before.
Greyvangelist Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 damn son, Kokonoe is channeling Chris Redfield with that flamethrower chip damage
LegendaryRath Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Kokonoe has a setup where the only answer to it is burst preemptively . This super combos into 7k by the way. This video shows it beating respectful blocking, rolling, delay teching, invulling through it, etc, etc. Burst is the only thing so far that works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHjnYQ5--fg
Zeromus_X Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 So they can't even reversal to hit her out of setting the lightning rod? Does that setup pass the Inferno Divider test? (Not near my console otherwise I would check)
LegendaryRath Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 the black hole super has invul for days, no... months. that setup beats invul moves and supers. That setup beats rolls, no tech, blocking, mashing, etc. Bace also found that he could make it burst safe, so that option's out. Certain characters have specific escapes though, the easiest being Azrael's growler field. Bang can 6D the meaty lightning and C teleport out. I think Yukikaze gets Haku out and lets him punish kokonoe recovering from the black hole. You need to be creative. I'm sure people will find something, or we'll just wait for a patch.
Zeromus_X Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Oh I totally forgot the black hole super had invul lolol. The true BlazBlue really DOES start here...
Zeromus_X Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Waiting for the inevitable Koko combo video with this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8okzVnShqMw
Dipstick Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 All that Kokonoe salt. Those corner setups and damage look really good... but isn't that what a lot of the top tier in BBCP to do begin with? (OK, I don't think anyone has those kinds of setups with a super with that much invincibility.) One random thought: is anyone from AZ going to NEC? I still have room for a couple of people in my room in Philly. Also, Delta has tickets from Phoenix to Philly for that weekend for $240 right now, but that price is probably only going to be there for the next day or two.
Zeromus_X Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I think most of the problem is that she's supposed to be a zoner/setup character but she gets crazy meterless damage whether midscreen or the corner, for minimal execution. I guess time will tell if she's big enough of a problem to get patched or people just learn how to play against her.
LegendaryRath Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 It's day one and people have found enough tech to win the next 5 majors with her. There's talk of banning her at NEC. I don't want her to be banned or anything, just fix any huge obvious problems that show up in the next few weeks. The more bs people find now, the better. If it isn't found until after they patch her, if they patch her at all, then we're boned.
