Jimmy won't be here, and I'd need some equipment that I don't have, so probably not going to happen. If all the American players (assuming there aren't any foreign players coming in for the event) at NEC play Kokonoe and don't give anyone else a chance, then it'll just be a biased pool. Where'd all the "Kagura is bullshit broken" go? They might as well have a two character tourney a la Aquapazza and get it over with.
Loli Bacon Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 It's really hard to, since I can't really find anything. All I've done so far is find character specific answers to SOME of her bull. Like literally 14 hours straight yesterday awake talking to a group of players on Mumble, trying to find SOMETHING to do about her and we just keep finding more tech and reasons to hate her instead. If SKD and other players actually switch and main her, like they're saying, then R.I.P NEC. Although, I don't want her to be banned, and I don't want her to be patched yet either. give her one major, like NEC, to show everyone what she can really do, and if certain aspects of her gameplay end up actually breaking the game, then asw will know what to do. Hopefully anyway. She has flaws. What I think it is, is that most players who play arcsys fighters aren't used to a character with strong setups who also gets high damage from them ala Rachel CT. Rachel, on the other hand, had instant overheads that lead to 5k bnbs METERLESS, and didn't have as terrible of a neutral. Kokonoe has high damage, good mixups, and good setups. She's not broken in the slightest, she's just strong.

Part of me would love to see an all-Kokonoe top 8 at NEC, just for the salt. I'm of both minds -- if she really is that broken, prove it, and if it really is that bad and ArcSys won't do anything about it, then we should have this talk. (Yes, I think Chizuru should be banned in Aquapazza and Chun should be banned in 3S -- but in those examples, it's pretty clear what they did to the meta, and America doesn't do either soft bans or team tournaments.)

Yeah of course people aren't used to a character like her - the tools and damage that she has, for the type of character that she is, doesn't fit into this game. It makes more sense for Kagura to have big damage and strong oki because he has a bad neutral game, but not for Koko scootering all over the place. But I honestly think if they just reduced her damage she would be fine, because that's really the main problem with her. Ted, CP Litchi is nowhere near the level of retarded CS1 Litchi was, come on now.

Also what kind of crack are you on? CP Litchi can't even compare to CS1 Litchi. Sure she's strong, but she doesn't have anything close to mid-screen "you'd better go make a sandwich 'cause this will take awhile" 5k combos off of 5b hitconfirms, with Kokushi Musou Oki into another 3-4k.

But in this case, I'd also like to be proven wrong. So Ted, please I hope you're right. Win Win. Also, I'm not too concerned at the moment. I can get out of a lot of her stuff with Azrael and I plan on being the one guy that makes sufficient use of phalanx cannon stocks, and she might let me do that. Until I get pure bodied by a good kokonoe, I'm gonna ignore her. Kagura is BS still. He's like a persona character bought his way into the BBCP country club. Easiest DP in the game and hardest to punish. persona damage. persona oki. Zoners and characters with strong neutral probably don't mind him though. edit: I heard SKD was gonna play day one Koko tonight in tournament. When he's up, I hope we can turn on the stream.

Good games though, I played like 5 different people and the practice is paying off, I'm starting to get all these combos off pretty consistently. Now I need to learn harder ones to do in a match. For the newcomers: Kevin, DJ, Tevin and Steve, I hope you all continue to make it out, good seeing new faces in the ANIMU GAMES scene.
