LegendaryRath Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) The arcade patch for BBCP is aimed for mid-March. The article also mentions character rebalancing, although it's likely just for Terumi, Kagura, and Kokonoe. I wonder when the console version will get that update. Ted, I'm sure you'll be feeling good and get good results so long as you keep working with your Litchi. She's a fantastic character in this version, she just takes some getting used to. Zeromus_X Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) I still think CP is much more balanced than any BB before it. There's always gonna be better and worse characters, but it never seemed like there was anyone truly unplayable before Kokonoe was released. It makes it even more disappointing how broken Kokonoe turned out, but at least Arcsys is getting on a balance update in a timely fashion. Edited January 29, 2014 by Zeromus_X
LegendaryRath Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I think Extend was much more balanced, but a lot less fun.
Chumaralupa Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Ted, I remember reading that Plat got buffed in this version, I think it's her best iteration. All fighting games have tiers, either deal with it or stop playing fighting games like you claimed you were on FB months ago.

Bitch please, you know I'm all talk. :v And I AM dealing with it; it's called Kokomoe. It's just disheartening. And no, she lost damage in exchange for [2]8C. :v I love getting 3.3k max in the corner off a raw bubble (was 6k in EX).
Zeromus_X Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Ted, I remember reading that Plat got buffed in this version, I think it's her best iteration. She most definitely got nerfed in CP, she was way stronger in EX and CS2. It's mostly because all her combos are ghetto now and she does no damage though.
Loli Bacon Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Ruben seems pissy today. I wonder why. No worries, though. I'll keep dealing with the tier disparity. :v She most definitely got nerfed in CP, she was way stronger in EX and CS2. It's mostly because all her combos are ghetto now and she does no damage though. Don't forget the 5C pushback, so now I can't 5C > Swallow Moon pressure anymore. That leaves me with 0 mixups/pressure options. Edited January 29, 2014 by Loli Bacon
Chumaralupa Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 I guess the stream monsters were bakas, and that made me.... A baka.

Loli Bacon Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 There really is a difference between tiers and a large tier disparity.
Chumaralupa Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Oh, I dunno if I mentioned it or not yet, but since SCR is apparently deciding NOT to ban Kokonoe, we won't ban her at RanBats. Ryan, go ahead and whore her out till SCR and then win SCR with her and make all future tourneys ban her.

That doesn't mean I wont learn a bit of her to help with the MU though.

Theupstreamer Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 This game is super silly. It's very hard to say otherwise. No fighting game is perfect though, so you might as well play whatever you have the most fun with.

Orrax Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Dat Xrd arcade trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ9Cd4MKqHs&feature=youtu.be Looks good! Also, the BuruRaji clip has even more footage (and shows May's instant kill): http://vimeo.com/85432871
Greyvangelist Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 man, Xrd just does not give off the cool vibe that GGXX brought me in with. Whatever, it's still Guilty, I'll play it.
Ryuuka Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) It's definitely more animu-flavored. I can't really say that it's a bad thing when it'll probably bring in a bunch of new players, but it really just doesn't have that same gritty feel that #R had. I do think they really did a good job of fleshing out the characters' personalities, though. I also still can't wrap my head around Bedman. He feels really out of place, though I guess ABA was kinda the same for me at first too. Edited January 30, 2014 by Ryuuka
LegendaryRath Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Here's a good deal of information for the BBCP patch http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?17720-CP-News-Gameplay-Discussion/page86&p=1596997&viewfull=1#post1596997 The complete post has extra, but this is what caught my eye. Summary of Famitsu's article... - Playstation 3 patch planned for around May - There will be no loke tests - Command problems fixed Kokonoe: - Restrictions added to Kokonoe's combo rate and revolver action, so overall combo damage gets nerfed - Activate only has a hitbox during combos now, not during blockstrings or otherwise. - New DD "Equipment No08 Flying Greed Climb Ver. 1.00" added - Overdrive versions added for other distortions Izayoi and Bullet has a lot of changes Izayoi: - Izayoi's combos were a bit too difficult before, but now number of cancelable moves has increased and her revolver action is now easier to connect. - More differences between her modes. - Gain Art mode's "Hover Dash" can now be used in air. Movement is reverse from the ground version (from high to the ground) and stick can be used to control its movement. - Aerial backstep also changed to the same as her ground backstep, where she floats diagonally backwards - Sonic Saber now costs 2 blocks (previously 1) - Mirage Thruster now costs 1 block (previously 2) - Combining new hover dash and Mirage Thruster creates interesting movement. Bullet: - Miquilette Capture and 3C changed so you can get close to zoners. - the amount of pressure she can do has increased - 5C chargeable. Normal version is more compact than the currect one so really safe on block. Charged one is the old one. Punish mashing with it. - 5B>5C (uncharged) is a legit blockstring. - You can now use Blackout is now useable with no meter, if you have 2 heat levels Kokonoe doesn't seem to have many changes, but "changes to her revolver action" could be big. Her damage should be less silly now. I'm a little disappointed that there wont be a loketest. Seems like a good way to make more mistakes imo. Bullet and Izayoi were arguably two of the worst characters before, so it looks like they're getting some love. There were changes for Kagura and Terumi in the full post. I'm guessing that most characters will be seeing some changes, even if they're relatively small compared to what some of the new characters are getting. There was some stuff about Bang in there too. There's also this. - If you walk forward and input 236, you now get 623 move out. - If you walf forward and input 41236 you get 236 move. I really think they should stop messing with input priority in blazblue games. If you input the move, you should get it. This crap makes no freaking sense. edit: Also, that xrd trailer got me hyped for the game. Still don't know which characters interest me. I'll figure that out eventually. Chumaralupa Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 I wonder if there's any chance that the console JP version will get the patch sooner. I'm starting to get them ArcSys release date blues again. Also Ryan, I think Makoto was worse than both those chars easily. So I guess this means EVO will be patched though right? Oh and yeah Xrd looks anime as fuck, I'm going to have to just settle on someone I didn't particularly want to play at this rate though.......
Ryuuka Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Kagura: - It becomes a bit more difficult to punish Kagura's "Black Gale" moves on block. - Now needs a bit better situations for good damage, so overall mid screen damage nerfed. - Motions of his C moves aren't quite as large anymore. They're still large compared to other cast members, but it's been toned down a bit. I can get behind this, I guess.

I get a similar feeling of Makoto being pretty bad.
Loli Bacon Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I don't think this is all the changes for the game; Amane/Makoto weren't mentioned and I think they need a bit of love. I think they should tweak a bit more, and should loketest. I have no idea why they aren't going to loketest this shit.
