Hateraid Red Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Gg's guys. Good matches were had. Things like that build the community
Valthazeryus Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 What? Can't hear you Justin. I just hear this shaking noise.
Zeromus_X Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 What's everyone's schedule looking like on the Friday after this? Hazem says he wants to do BB again on the 26th. He says we should try to bring at least 5 consoles and if possible try to get more people than last time.
Chumaralupa Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 5 Consoles is a possibility, more people isn't. The only people that didn't show up that I can think of off the top of my head are Ray, John, Marq's brother although I think he only came to my house once. Assuming that everybody who came could show again that would be 17 people at best, but I'm pretty sure Tubazo wouldn't be able to make it down again, and some others may not wanna pay the money again. I think it was a first-time fluke kinda thing, as much as I would be down for it again, I think Hazem might be expecting too much.
MEANMEANPORK Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Hey guys, I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out and representing your community. It was really fun to watch and you guys had a ton of really hype matches. I think a couple of us actually went out and bought CS after watching it. I know I did. I was the dude with the giant beard in the obnoxious blue shirt. I've played Hazama in training mode for 5 minutes and I'll own you all!
Spiteful Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Thanks Kyle and Louie for coming here and your showing your appreciation, but I agree with Ruben that having THAT many players was likely a one shot deal, because that was literally 90% of our entire community, and 50% of the Flagstaff community that showed up. I think if a few people from SRK got into it, and with the people from DL that would return for a second time, another decent tournament is possible. I think having BB at the SRK gatherings to get some people interested would be key.
Valthazeryus Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 The community is bigger if you also invite anime convention people. But we all know how that results. Except Cheyne. He's the only person from an anime convention that actually committed, so I'm proud of him on that.
Angelic Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Hi guys, Angelic/Armando here. I repped you guys pretty hard when we were discussing what things to do for the next tournament. I agree with other sentiments that if you can duplicate at least most of the energy and hype you guys brought the first time, this really could be the next big thing for the BlazBlue community. I think you guys turned a lot of heads with the hype and the matches. I was really getting into it at the end! I want to thank you guys for coming out and hope to see you guys next next friday. Reading a few of these post it seems blazblue was lucky to have that many numbers, but even if you can't get that many people, as long as you bring the energy and excitement again and show your dedication it will keep happening. Personally I know a few of us MVC3/AE people talked about maybe picking the game up, but It is up to you guys to show us the light once again to keep us interested so we can start competing and coming out to your own gatherings (Ruben's get hype!). Nobody wants to pick up a game when the community isn't even willing to show up to the tournaments that are being hosted for them. On the same token, I am a very serious competitor and do not like to half-ass my attempts at taking in a game (unless im dirt poor like when CS came out! :[ ). If you keep it up, like I said, even if its not that many people, then more and more people will show. I can guarantee you do NOT know everybody who plays BB. It is a fact that a lot of people don't even go to DL or SRK or even the internet and still play serious fighting games. Keep coming out in force on the stream and you WILL attract numbers! I know AE has gotten like 7 new players since evo... sick!. Keep up the good work and hope to see you guys sometime soon. Question: BB:CS is better on PS3 or Xbox? any lag difference like on AE or MVC3? thanks!
Theupstreamer Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I don't think Cheyne really came from an anime convention scene. He's from Sam's old smash days and then he decided to pick up more fighting games like AE and Blaz and he's actually very competent in them. He lands every single jin combo every single time (but then he gets hit out of his IAD D=)
Chumaralupa Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Christ I won't even be in town for the next next Friday, or the Friday after that, bleh. Anyways yeah I dunno if Armando will come back here to read this post but I'd be happy to have you guys over for BB, the more the better. The Lag differences in AE and MVC3 for Xbox and PS3 are different in both cases right? I'm told that for AE it's an input lag for PS3, and for MvC3 it's a graphical lag for the PS3, is that right? Anyways no, for BB both consoles are fine, nobody has ever complained about one or the other, so it's personal preference. The only real difference is that Xbox loads a bit faster but that's really just a generic difference between the two. PS. Ray, the Glee movie is out. PSS. Did you guys hit up Venezias yesterday?
Angelic Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Haha! I did come back. I just got a copy for xbox, gonna practice tonight. I am going to try to get luey into it with me and maybe muji/dana... I doubt them though. Either way they are all really strong competitors in marvel and AE and they would be (I feel) retardedly good additions to the bb community... though like I said nobody is going to join a dead scene! everybody should mark next next friday so you don't friggin miss it! edit: also im playing noel I think luey plays ragna
Theupstreamer Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Ragna is so easy, especially coming from street fighter. He won't have too much trouble getting into it. Dude armando what happened to hakumen?
Angelic Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Don't know... just kind of fell off for me. His fancy combos weren't that fun to do.
Ryuuka Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Valkenhayn has the most fun combos, but nobody wants to play him.
Valthazeryus Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Hopefully we can deliver the hype. Which matches had hype by the way? I want to know so I can watch them in the replay archive later. I didn't get many chances to see them live.
Hateraid Red Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I help Luey out with bb. He has solid fundamentals. He just needs to learn the airdasher stuff. Which is much easier than spacing and footsies
Robawtninja Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Late gg's to everyone. And very big surprise from all the SRK players posting on here. I'm glad to see people with honest inputs and hunger to learn different games. I tried my upmost best to keep the stream lively with my commentating. It was pretty fun but a lot of work still to go. ^_^
Chumaralupa Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Now that I can play Ibuki/Yoshimitsu, I'll probably buy SFxTekken . . . Who the hell is Hugo?
Valthazeryus Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Who the hell is Hugo? One of the most beautifulest grapplers in fighting games.
Spiteful Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 One of the most beautifulest grapplers in fighting games. I think your mistaking Hugo for his manager, Poison. Yes, Poison is grappler, much to all the fan boys' delightful fantasies. (Hugo is the Zangief of Third Strike)
Valthazeryus Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I think your mistaking Hugo... Stopped reading! No I am not.
