M19Kamikaze Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Yup. JUST in time for finals. Words cannot describe hoe ecstatic I am. Friday sounds good so I'll try to stop by.
Valthazeryus Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I have finals on Monday, so I'll be studying all remaining days until then. We don't really play BlazBlue anymore, so I wouldn't really be missing much. ┐(゜_゜;)┌
Chumaralupa Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Ok Jimmy, well hopefully CSEX is out by the end of the month so we can start that shit. You're right Ray, I've been holding back, I need to bust out ALL the stops, we gotta roll in the doughnuts. Are there any Krispy Kreme's in business anywhere around here?

tubazo1989 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 You guys better get hype for BBCSEX, or else I'ma call myself the self-proclaimed best BB player in AZ. :-3 ....or at least best Arakune. BEEEEEEEZ!
BladeDiva Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) There's a little doughnut shop nearby me that looks more like an abandoned convenience store. I go in there and get custard doughnuts when I feel like compromising my attempts to lose weight. At least, I did. When I had money. Edit: Hey folks! Remember when the XBox dashboard was actually usable? Seems like almost yesterday. =| Edit2: I just read through the entire Revised Terms of Service. I'm not sure if my brain is still alive. tubazo1989 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 For some reason, I just thought of a cartoon wolf in a suit who just saw a hot human chick walk in the room. Me too! LOL! Or the crazy Who Framed Rodger Rabbit? I'm just sad no one quoted my second part. My Arakune gets exposed by all yall every now and then, but my other characters don't stand a chance. Just trying to light a fire for yall to burn BBCSEX with a passion. We can only get stronger if we want to beat each other, so I look forward to you beastin' with Tager version rape mode. GGs again Spiteful during the Digital Carnival. We had fun, and I'm glad you were there to remind me not to be a scrub with my controller dying during our set. LOL! I was sooooo embarrassed, because it wasn't even my actual controller. My controller is like always fully charged.....Another reason I should learn stick for all my fighters huh? And sorry again about the Xbox HD. It's been a crazy week. Looks like my future is gonna be filled with secret mac sauce......no homo (Gonna work at my old job)
Theupstreamer Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Yeah Lorenzo . . . that's kind of what we're getting at. We don't really play much blaz anymore. No one here really likes the game that much. I mean I play it if it's there and do sweet combos but that's about it. Hell, even Justin is moving on because he understands how there's just no scene (even though he loves the game and his character). I guess what we're trying to say is we have moved on so there's no spark, fuel, flint, whatever for that fire you're talking about.
tubazo1989 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 It's only a dead scene if you think it is. Growing up with my brother, we played so many games, but he wouldn't play my fighting games with me. If I had even one person to play with, I would be happy, but I had the computer, so I wasn't lonely. CvS2, Vitura Fighter, and even Soul Calibur were in my collection, but with no one to play, I never fully embraced them. Now we live in a different age. Internet is easy and plentiful to play with other people with ANY type of game. BB was the first fighter I went head-over-heels with because I was no longer restricted to the computer opponents. I know I need to learn how to play GG, but that ship is hard to sail without help from others, and isn't that the purpose of this forum? Every now and then yall talk about meeting up and playing, and every now and then yall talk about certain game stuff (I wouldn't have known about the CSEX Tager stuff if yall didn't post it), but after that, I don't see a whole lot of drive (hehehe, get it? BB reference......yeah, I suck). Maybe I'm missing something with this whole internet thing, but shouldn't we need that drive to post on a site that has information about the most technical fighters out there? Don't get it twisted, I'm a strong believer in having fun with our games. It really, REALLY looks like you guys have fun regardless of what you're doing. I'm not, nor will I ever be against having fun, but if you are even posting on here, you're having fun with BB/GG, right? If so, share that fun by challenging others and expecting more out of yourself. .....I'm boarding on the "TL,DR", so I'll leave with this opinion. Street Fighter will never be de-crowned as the premier fighter in the FGC if we keep that mindset. BB, GG, and even AH require much more technical practice to be efficient, and yall have that, but that isn't the only thing we need. We need passion. We need courage. We need HYPE! Only if we show our passion, our hype, will our scene get bigger, and that means growing out of the "high school" mindset of being "too cool to care". Back in high school, we were so busy trying to figure out what the world is that some people don't realize who they are. I've seen high school kids refuse to cheer for their team because "it's not cool", but when they see someone else cheer and sound cool doing it, they joined in less than 10 minutes. It's great that we know so much information about how these fighters run, but if we stop there and forget how to be passionate regardless of who cares or who's watching, we are missing the courage it takes to keep the fire alive. I'm still extremely grateful for all of the experiences I've had, regardless of my performance, but I'm more proud that I've made some sort of impact through my passion for BB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHPOcZk9uFU#t=7m (Did I already share this with you guys?) http://www.gamespot.com/blazblue-continuum-shift/forum/can-somebody-please-post-mike-z-tager-vs-takedahazama-at-evo-2011-59901269 (Even though it's a similar forum that put me on blast for my scrubakune during Devastation 2010, it was those comments about the hype black guy that make me realize that I've found my place where ever BB is. Remember Revelations? Same story, my hype somehow brought those other black dudes to keep it going and we all had a great time) I'm not asking for you guys to be amazing at BB and neglect other things in life. I'm asking for you to be awesome so you can feel the same pride I felt. You can't feel that pride if you've already written it as impossible. .....I'll post again in about a week...
Chumaralupa Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Tubazo, blame the huge influx of fighting games we've had over the past couple of years. Honestly part of the reason why GG was so big was because it was unique for it's time, and there weren't that many other options for good fighters. Now everything is a fighting game, and for people who love the genre like me, we end up playing all of them, and therefore lose the focus on that one game that started it all. For me personally, I literally can't help it, I want to play BB in tourneys and get really good at it, but then another game comes and and I go all ADD on that shit. A larger pool of games is going to dilute the scene for each individual one, problem is that the GG/BB scene wasn't big enough in the first place to survive. Of course that doesn't mean that we'll never play it again, I love BB and it's still my favorite fighter and I'll definitely be playing BBCS+. Another issue is that the most enthusiastic of us that started the GG DL scene have gotten older and can't put as much as time into this stuff as we used to, we're graduating, moving, making relationships, and starting careers. I wish very strongly that someday soon there will be that new generation of young adults that can revive the scene for those who want it, but for now I'll keep having people over to play and for those who wish to play competitively to give them the best practice that we can. As an addendum, I know the SRK scene is exploding right now with the work that Hazem is putting in at the moment, but someday take a look at the demographic that regulars SRK over the people that you know here. Not to say anything negative, there are a lot of cool guys over there. PS. I think Atlus is a company full of trolls, I found out today that Rise wasn't a playable char in P4 but the bear was, which means that although they knew at least 50% of the customer base would want to play that slutty idol in the game, they said "trollololololololol" you can play this annoying bear instead. And they're making the same mistake in dat fighting game.
Valthazeryus Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) Yeah Lorenzo . . . that's kind of what we're getting at. We don't really play much blaz anymore. No one here really likes the game that much. I love the game. I'd play it all the time if I could, but there is way too much schoolwork. It's only a dead scene if you think it is. It's a really positive way of thinking it. As for the scene dying, it's not our fault. There are people who'll play it, but then move onto something else; we call these Rubens. There are also these people at anime conventions who say they love DAT ASS and DAT UNDERBOOB, but utterly have no idea how combos chain and say they'll get better and join Dustloop, but never do: these guys don't expand the scene. They're like Japan's fertility rate. Then there are people who could help the scene grow (by streaming the game(?)), but they reject us and put us in a corner; I'll call them Devastation. As for the Tager shit, that's just me and only me posting it, because I'm the only one that shows interests in the game. The other three that had the same severe interest I did in the game, Erik, Justin, and Kevin, fell off the map. Then again, Kevin never posted to begin with. There's not even that many contributors to the AZ Dustloop thread as there used to. Notice who posts these days. Only I usually post something BlazBlue related. Other than that, everybody else just posts about something non-related. I'll always play BlazBlue and so will Erik, probably, but Tager vs Mu-12 only lasts so long. I have an idea how you can jumpstart the scene again: you can either setup your own stream like Hazem's and stream BlazBlue tournaments every week or so, or you go to Hazem's and we do the BlazBlue tournament stream, even if its like 4 people, and you expand the scene like that. I'd love for the scene to expand again, but its too competitive between gamestyle these days. I'd post more, but I got to go to school and study at office hours for a while.
