you should tell him to come out as well then so we can all get in games

He's in California :(

As a side note, has anyone ever played brkrdave before? His teddy and Arakune are god-like. I play him occasionally and usually get bodied-and-a-half. Looked online for professional matches and well... he's better than all the japanese teddies I watch. Seriously, he's a monster, and a pretty chill dude.

GGs to everyone! Marvin and Justin both played great, grats to them for taking 1st and 2nd. Teddie looks like a pretty bad matchup for Yu but I thought Justin handled it really well.

Shout outs to the people who kicked my ass on stream. My Chie still needs a lot of work.

Just wish I could've gotten more games in. Oh well.

Your Chie was really good. It took me a while to start blocking your pressure but it's really tricky. GGs all around dude, I'll be sure to play Kanji next time.

I'll be on and off the PS3 all day fi anyone wants to play. I'll get around to spamming friend requests in a couple minutes.

After yesterday, I feel that I should stop using my 720p vizeo and start using my 1080 ASUS monitor. As well as start playing on my lap. It felt weird at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. It's not like I can bring a table with me to haz's.

Just make you learn on a lagless monitor. The resolution doesn't matter. Hell, just play on a Zumiez's CRT like Ray if you have to.

That Kanji player, Gabe Z, brought a monitor, but it wasn't tournament legal. He had so much lag on it. Everybody likes a monitor that can register inputs with no delay. No one likes lag, but Flagstaff people apparently. Lol.

I think everyone did well. I don't think anyone is amazing yet. it's hard to be incredible at a game that's been out a month; especially when we don't even have frame data for it. it's all just feeling it out and playing the game. after more practice I'm sure we'll all do much better.

I actually felt like Marvin's Teddie was more consistent than brkrdvs, mainly because he didn't mis-space his crossups and 5B/C's much.

Is Mitsuru one of Teddie's even/bad matchups?

no, Mitsuru is free for Teddy. No joke.

her only crappy match-ups are Aigis and teddy, though. So she's still broken.

What happened to your Elizabeth? I was curious to see how well it would do and then... steak.

My Elizabeth is on the back burner for now. Chie fits my play style much better. I mostly just dislike the amount of gimmicky stuff Elizabeth relies on for her mixup game. That and a few matchups are obnoxious (Yukiko, Yosuke).

I haven't dropped Elizabeth entirely, but I'm going to be focusing more on Chie for the time being.

Tick throws are gimmicks? Oh, wait, the wide throw break window, of course. Suffice to say, if I could consistently get a feared opponent to respect Liz while running tick throw setups, I would play her.

Probably. The damn Thanatos throw is so reactable. Much easier to react to than a throw break.

^ True story.

Most of the time Thanatos grab is just hoping that they're asleep, and the rest of the time is doing sweet tech traps.

If she could move around or something during Thanatos grab it would be a million times better.

I think the Mitsuru/Aigis matchup is only like 5.5 in Aigis's favor, mainly because Aigis has to play such a heavy zoning game against her.

Aigis shouldn't be zoning Mitsuru. Mitsuru should be zoning her only when she's in orgia mode. Once it's over, that's when Mitsuru goes in.

Thinking about it, they take turns rushing and zoning. Unfortunately, Aigis has much better pressure/risk, but she has less defensive options. Silly match-up

aigis has to zone everybody outside of orgia. zoning doesn't just mean shooting shit everywhere, aigis has to be smart with her pressure and spacing until she can get the ridiculous pressure/mixup orgia offers. There are great ways to manage the orgia meter that a lot of american's aren't doing at the moment, but when that is on recharge.. your best option is to get breathing room and holding them back with 2b and other projectiles.

as far as zoning with mitsuru goes.... can she zone at all? she always striked me as a pressure, footsies character. you can't just fling out random D's and call that zoning. they don't even tag a lot of characters if they're crouching and she is left pretty vulnerable on whiff. sure, droit is a good move, but not necessarily a zoning tool. (not saying it doesn't have zoning possibilities, but it is not the same as a fireball)

Poor choice of words on my part. I meant spacing. When Aigis get's orgia, Mitsuru needs to just keep her out with 5A and j.A. Bufula can be helpful too
