Theupstreamer Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Nam, everyone should be playing as chie. It's like playing a different game
LegendaryRath Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Is anyone able to get online today? I still have pending friend requests for a few of you. EDIT: gold member, yip yip
LegendaryRath Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 We should do an open lobby sometime, where as many of us as possible get online. It beats training mode and the connections should be close to perfect. I've just been so bored lately, and I'm still bummed about not making it on Friday.
Robawtninja Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 You are right and I think you should only divekick on reaction to 2B for it's long recovery. Also Ray, I have almost considered playing her for her dragon kick. Other than that her faux kung fu moves and extremely wrong meatball super disappoints me. And my connection on PSN still sucks.
LegendaryRath Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Connections don't need to be perfect. I would assume that as long as none of us live in Canada, it should be manageable.
Chumaralupa Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 I played some SRK people online, it sucks you just can't play anime fighters online, it's infuriating.
Zeromus_X Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 XBL is great, it's just PSN that has ass connections.
Chumaralupa Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 XBL is great, it's just PSN that has ass connections. I never expected you to say something so positive in the 360's favor. Well I've tried both and they felt the same to me so I dunno, maybe I got unlucky but TTT2 online is decent since it's a 3d fighter so I'll just wait for irl matches for P4A
LegendaryRath Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 P4A and BB had awesome online for me. Just make sure you only play with people who have 2 or higher connections, which most people in AZ should. I play online way too much. It's just fun, so simple. Also, it looks like I'm free Saturday so I should be able to make it to Haz's. I'll get my stick dual-modded while I'm there as well. I just hope that it isn't a super long process. It would be nice to not have to borrow people's sticks again.
Zeromus_X Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I don't know if everyone on PSN is just using wireless or what, but I can hardly ever get more than a 1 bar connection. And even when I do, sometimes the game just won't let me connect to them. It's also annoying when I set it to "good connections only" and then I get a bunch of 0 bars or "can't determine connection quality"...I find myself playing on XBL most of the time for netplay.
LegendaryRath Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I use wireless, and sometimes it can take ages to find a 2 or 3 lobby to play in. I added a bunch of people who I have good connections to and mainly play with them.
Omegashrimp Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 The connection grading system is kind of capricious. It sometimes takes forever to determine connections with players that I know live in AZ or California, but it also occasionally has smooth matches at a zero bar connection. That said, I've had mostly positive experiences in player match with west coast players
Chumaralupa Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 God, it took me an hour and a half to do Naoto's challenge 29, and only about 30 to do the preceding 28
dreamvision602 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 i actually never have really bad problems online. i played about 25-30 matches last night and had only a few that the lagged pretty bad. i connect my directly when i play online. but the day we had problems with the lobby online was all my fault. after i logged off i decided to do a speed test my connection, i get my laptop and i had a few torrents running that i had no idea were even downloading and seeding. my bad but i was thinking of maybe getting a set online session in with you guys maybe once a week. i have plenty of time to play at home but not a lot of time to leave to someones house to play cause i have kids. im tired of the scrubs im playing and then if i find any decent players to play, im usually only able to get a few sets in cause they dont want to keep playing against the same characters u know. im trying to learn every character but need people that know the game so i would greatly appreciate if we can get something like this rolling! anyways...let me know. im on fb also and have a few of u on it as well but my name is daniel guevara if anyone wants to look me up. i post in srk thread when i get online to play. hoping to get a new computer soon to so i can record some of our local matches.
LegendaryRath Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I play online a bunch so feel free to add me. I'll be sure to invite anyone who is online when I'm playing.

Why are you trying to learn every character? That's just asking for heartache. D=
LegendaryRath Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I feel like it would be difficult to be exceptional with any character if you tried to play everyone.
Hateraid Red Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I have the hardest time in the world playing online; not even because of lag. I'm so used to playing people in person everything feels wrong online. that said, I feel like the netcode in this is pretty dang solid
LegendaryRath Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I've played online so much, that I suck in person. I press every button too early. I suppose I should take a few days before Saturday and just practice offline, so I wont end up dropping EVERYTHING like last time.
dreamvision602 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 LegendaryRath- ill add you today! but ill be exceptional at all characters!!! :P Synthesis- wanting to learn every character so i can one day take a tournament using the random button! LOL honestly the reason im learning all characters is because this is the first game i actually truly enjoy playing since probably mvc2. i been playing competative fighters since sf2 and entering tournaments since then. blaz came out and i LOVED it but the competition just wasnt there like it was for sf4. i tend to be attracted to where the most people are playing. well with the scrubbiness that is mvc3 and just getting below the curve because of situations that arised during the game being big so just couldnt catch up. i loved the persona series even tho i never finished them and watched a few episodes of the p4 anime and just had to have this game. now im so in to it that i just want to play...i love every character in the game so what else is there to do besides play every character. so yea...no real reason on learning every character and i dont think its that much of a problem right now considering everyone is still learning the game. once it is to the point that everyone is really comfortable and there is real data that exists for the game, then i will take only 2 characters really seriously.
Chumaralupa Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 I dunno, when I play anime fighters and I fuck up a block because of 3 frames of lag I get so pissed that I just wanna drop the controller. I mean, I don't even rage (that hard) when I lose to Ray 25 times in a row, but if I lose once online because of that slight delay my whole world is over. That being said, I have no qualms playing TTT2 online (best netcode I've encountered in a game yet) but Daniel you said you have some people who play over on the westside, near the 101 and I-17? If you guys want some games in I'll drive over, it's basically like going to Tempe for me just going the opposite way, I dunno if you guys meet up at an arcade or some sort or at somebody's house. I'm more willing to drive 15-20 minutes to get some quality sets in rather than play online for games that will just get me angry.
Theupstreamer Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I tried playing every character in this game too, but then I got blown up for it and not knowing the particular match ups. Now I just play the hottest girl in school and chie for the lulz.
LegendaryRath Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 The worst thing online is playing against a Yu, especially bad ones. When here is just enough lagg that you can react to his raging lion or slide tackle, it's fricken ridiculous. And bad Yu's will just spam that crap from across the screen and feel good about hitting you... But then again, that's why I only play on 3s.
