I don't remember fighting Brian at BB during the digital carnival, so I don't get to talk to you until you remedy that. GET HYPE FOR CS2, AND HYPE FOR PS3's being offline.

Also ASSISTS That's one of the reasons I like HDR so much - you only have to force 2-3 mistakes in order to win a round. Or even just one mistake, if it's a bad enough one. <3 ToDs. Bip - bip - bip - bap! - dizzy - dead. Love, love, love ... but I'd give it all up for some AC w/GGPO quality netcode. Oh, how I'd love for my understanding of Guilty Gear to be as comprehensive as my understanding of HDR is!

Sol-Bumguy Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) IMO, Potemkin is pretty scrubby/broken damage-wise, robs the crap out of you (AKA does not earn/deserve his wins sometimes), has very easy combos that do a lot of damage, but Jam is scrubby in a different way, and of course her damage output is not as good as Potemkin's. ...No offense to Jam users (even I use her and May sometimes), but it is pretty common knowledge that Jam is kind of retarded and easy (but how easy?)...I know she has short range, has to keep the pressure on (as do MANY other characters), but using her/winning with her is not hard (her loop is not hard, IMO and she has many oppurtunities to perform it in matches), from what I have seen, heard, and read through the years...Both her & Potemkin are in the same tier, have very few bad match-ups, rape a lot of characters and are used very often anyway, so Potemkin cannot be too much worse, IMO. For me, fighting Potemkin is nearly just as annoying as Jam (IMO), and I can hate on him all day... But in GG, every character has depth and there are many things to explore and perfect... Imperfect Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) Sure, Jam may be easy to pick up and win with, but thats because she is versatile enough to deal with almost any situation. She has amazing pokes, she gets lots of damage off of those pokes, her okizeme and mixup is decent, and she is fast enough to play the keep away game if she needs to. However, just because she is easy to play doesn't necessarily mean she is a free win every time. The beauty of Guilty Gear is that the game is deep and complex enough that anyone can win against anyone. Sure, Jam can random out victories with her bullshit, but so can everyone else. If you wanna play the game then you just gotta learn how to deal with it. Besides, when was the last time you saw a Jam win a major tournament? Magneto on the other hand is so free. Like I was there when you passed around your driver's lisence :p I am going to get good over the summer, lots of XBL. I tried MvC3 but I think I will mostly be playing Blazblue, and now that I have some background in it, going to be fishing for my real main in the next few weeks yep... didn't recognize you at all, lol gl with getting good with XBL, hopefully the netcode will be better with the release of CS2? (For some reason though, I doubt it.) But in GG, every character has depth and there are many things to explore and perfect... I miss GG:( so beautiful...... I miss GG too
