I hate any sort of wasted character spot, and a clone is a wasted character spot. If they wanted to use a female X-men character, why not Phoenix, Emma Frost, or even Magma would have been cool, but nooooo.

Not when Wolverine is around. Yes, your hate is unwarranted. Your focusing your hatred on the character over a trivial thing. I don't know how familiar you are with the X-men fandom but X-23 is a popular character. Since she plays nothing like Wolverine her spot wasn't a waste.

In terms of specials, the only difference between them was their supers and her backflip, and she even had Weapon X, so that's only 2 supers. She even got his old divekick. The only way they'd play differently is depending on what her normals are.

Good for you, that's not my problem. The problem I have is lazy devs making clones like X-23, and making fail roster choices like Tron.

Really, the only thing one of her supers has in common with Weapon X is it's end animation. God forbid she can't have a slash on the screen after doing a move. Good for you, that's not my problem. X-23 and Tron both fit with that.

She's one of the few roster additions I hate, the others being Tron Bonne (that damn drill spam), Viewtiful Joe (took way too many hits to deal only average damage), and Felicia (taking a Darkstalkers spot from cool characters from her series like Talbain or Donovan, when the only reason anyone likes Felicia is because she's mostly naked, anyone saying otherwise is lying to try to not seem like a perv). felicia has an unblockable setup lol @ "i dont like viewtiful joe because right now his damage is bad." how's the tier list coming along? also you do realize that some people have different aesthetic tastes, right I'd rather see Donovan than felicia myself, and I don't give a shit about x-23, but I don't act like my opinion is fact. tron owns, the only reason people don't like her is because they're <arbitrary nonsense> Besides, what are you doing in a marvel thread? I never cared for Legends at all, and Tron was just a very boring, unlikable character, who only had fans in MVC2 due to cheap bullshit assist drill. I'm a very curious person, I have to know who's being included, regardless of whether I purchase it or not.

No clones, no over-represented series, few if any repeat characters, etc.

Even though aside from the 4 I mentioned disliking, I find the roster decent, there are few AMAZING standouts. At this current moment, if I got the game and this were the final roster, i'd be maining Amaterasu/Deadpool/Dante, because those 3 are the only ones that make me go "Wow, I want to play that character!", whereas the rest are either tolerable or decent.

The complaints about no universal air dashing made me lol Its not BB or GG so its not gonna be the same. Character wise I think its far far more varied than 2 was cause 2 had totally shittastic characters that were killed easily by mags and company. The damage of some of the characters were laughable compared to those guys. The character choices so far is looking good to me. Nice keep away characters chris, deadpool, Heavy hitters hulk thor Speed freaks rush down dante x23 wolvie All purpose cap ryu trish Trap chars trish doom Seriously onnce people figure teams out and the team makup we will see the true style of mvc3 I'm hype as hell cause I cantg wait to experiment with the game and see what is broken and what is not. Yeah....um, you're a fucking joke. You WANT broken characters and moves and WANT multiple broken top tiers??? People like you exist? Fuck you for even living! No one wants broken shit unless they are just that horrible that they need the crutch, and then those people shouldn't be gaming in the first place. And universal air dash would have helped the MVC2 imbalance at least slightly.
