I'm still undecided on evo is there a ticket to buy for the event or is it show and entry fees because the cost of hotel alone. I'm thinking a week plus event and plane ticket to and from.

Hey guys, I have no idea if we'll be holding a Tournament at Gameclucks this month. The schedule is pretty tight and a mess due to Marvel vs Capcom 3's release date. If we do decide to hold one it'll be extremely late notice. We are trying to work something out in the mean time though and hopefully we can organize things better for next month. I'll keep you guys posted.

UPDATE: We won't be holding a Tournament for BB/GG this month due to late notice and short time to prepare for everything. Next month should be much easier and we should have everything better organized. Sorry guys :gonk:

Bringing up Sakuracon panel again. For those interested, pick a few of the topics below and do a write up. This will be for beginners, so try to keep it simple. Also try to make it entertaining (con panels are boring enough). It's fine (and even encouraged) to explain things informally. Just make it understandable.

Current Ideas:

Intro

Inputs (cover basic special motions like fireball and dp)

Hitboxes/Spacing

Zoning v. Rushdown

Tick throws/Throw setups

Knockdown

Blocking (Instant Blocking)/ Barrier

Guard Crush

Frames (not actual data, but just thing like what's start up and what's recovery)

*include jump start up, hit stop, attack levels

Gatlings/Links

Teching/Burst

Meter management

If there's any examples you'd like recorded, mention them and we'll also try to start on that this Friday at Digipen. We'll need to do an in person meeting to pass up on: It's the internets miscommunication herpaderp that can happen a lot. :psyduck:

We probably won't cover all of these topics, but we can shoot to address most of them. We're only covering about an hour's worth of information. Though it will probably only be 40-50 minutes to have time for a QnA session.

If you want to help in some other form, please contact me.

People who have told me they have interest: Tae, Christian, Spark*, wuku**

People I would like to recruit: w0ki and anyone else with enough experience who wouldn't mind giving up a bit of time to help out.

EDIT: If you're not confident in your writing skillz, then just forward me what specific information you want to talk about and I'll help you out.

I'd love to write for one but I've unfortunately been to busy as of late and brushing up on stuff myself. I may be at Sakuracon this year, may be able to get in for free. Either way, if I'm there I'll try to attend the panel and write a report on it.

:3 We'd appreciate it. A lot of us are also planning on going to the tourney hosted by Sakuracon. Though, they're running that and not us (hahaha thank god x.x; ).

Not yet they're not, the forums say nothing about a BB tournament.

A write-up, huh

I could give it a try making a write-up. I didn't take my 1 quarter of COMM class for nothing :v:

As for attending the panel I'm a no go (i'm poor as fuck, and fuck is quite everything)

Mike Lee's already confirmed there will be one. ^^ We're pro enough to have inside info.

As far as the write up, I prefer people who will be speaking on the panel to write the information... as they are going to present it.

That and then there's this.

Harro everynyan!

Here is a kind of almost finalized list of tournaments!

Friday Fight Night

SSF4

Tatsunoko v Capcom

BB:CS

Marvel v Capcom 3

Secret Late-Nite Tournament 1

Any idea who's running everything? I know Chris from GC will be running SSF4 and Smash on Saturday. Forgot to mention too, next month when we have another tournament I'll try to do some interviews with whoever wants one. I'm writing for the Examiner right now and thought interviewing local players would be a good idea. I hope to eventually be able to do more coverage for the tournaments too once I actually have the money =\
