Woah. There's new people here. :3 Welcome.

We're running a panel at Sakuracon called Fighting Games Primer which is supposed to cover basics of fighting games in order to garner interest from the community. Ideas on what subjects to cover are welcome. We also need definite on who can come.

The panel is only an hour long, and we're not going to cover anything super complicated. So ideas are very welcome.

Current Ideas:

Inputs (cover basic special motions like fireball and dp)

Hitboxes/Spacing

Zoning v. Rushdown

Tick throws/Throw setups

Knockdown

Blocking (Instant Blocking)/ Barrier

Guard Crush

Frames (not actual data, but just thing like what's start up and what's recovery)

*include jump start up, hit stop, attack levels

Gatlings/Links

Teching/Burst

I just got back into FRC's and I think they might be simple enough to go over, in terms of theory. Unless you're already including that in 'Frames', since it links to recovery time and whatnot.

HOW ABOUT DAT ROADTRIP GUYS

Posted

I don't think I would be using that much (most definitely not if we have a road trip) but damn I don't have that much money on me :<

i guess it would depend on how long we stayed there for

if we split hotel costs between people and only ate a meal a day (which is pretty feasible if we're talking about fast food) then it shouldn't cost TOO much.

Only one meal a day...

Huey and I will be at Costco.

$80 for gas on the road trip, we might use less. Last time it was around $50-60 in my car but I wan't to collect $80 before we even leave so I know we are guaranteed to make it there and back. No exceptions :/

We also split a car wash and oil change for the car we use.

Last year I spend less than $150 total for hotel, gas, and food.
