DogsofWar Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Been playing for a while now, game is fucking amazing. Some notes. -Customizations are much weaker this time around from T6BR, just like Soul Calibur 5 was to Soul Calibur 4. Namco's been focusing pretty heavily on the gameplay aspects in recent times, which is a good thing, but there still should be room for some personal aesthetics IMO. Im not sure how long you've been playing but i seem to be getting a LOT of the Tekken 6 character specific costumes from Ghost Battles. The "Gold plated" opponents give you them at random. The higher your rank, the more frequently you see the gold title fights, so it ups your chances of getting better items. I've still yet to receive any sort of "hair bangs" for any character though. I'm hoping that they kept most of the stuff from T6, because the starting equipment is really bland. Also, i hit a few jackpots with the Lucky Box, i've gotten 10 at once, at least twice, which game massive amounts of cash and CS items. Opinion: Personally i think SCV has much better stuff than 4 if you know how to use it right. Edited September 12, 2012 by DogsofWar

SolxBaiken Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 You have to equip one of the hair items to buy the bangs. Confused me too lol. That's how it worked in T6 too Somebody help me! I don't know what to do with all this money! D: 12.4mil and growing

Starlight777 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Hey guys. DLC character gameplay. http://shoryuken.com/2012/09/12/tekken-tag-tournament-2-katsuhiro-harada-and-namco-bandai-live-reveal-miharu-sebastian-slim-bob-and-dr-bosconovitch/#disqus_thread
Vulcan422 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Oh God Dr. B sitting on the floor and sliding I fucking lost it INSTANT MAIN
Starlight777 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) Sebastian has some of Lili's discarded moves and Miharu has a few clumsy looking attacks and girly shoves to differentiate her from Xiaoyu. Too bad they didn't show Violet, I want to see what makes his moveset different from Lee. Edited September 13, 2012 by Starlight777
Vulcan422 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 He'll probably just be Lee with any classic moves they threw out and Kaiji Tang as his voice actor.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 His voice in Fight Lab says otherwise, sadly. And probably no Mentos.
Vulcan422 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 The We Are Tekken Edition soundtrack has revealed there are 4 DLC stages as well. -Moai Excavation -Chile- (Construction site-esque arena with Easter Island exhibit. Theme is "The Big One ~Quiet Strings Mix~.) -Extravagant Underground -Russia- (Underground fighting venue in Russia, gigantic palace. Theme is "Mystic Force".) -Modern Oasis -Saudi Arabia- (Giant elevator that rises and gives great views of the insides, which is basically a huge casino/spa. Theme is "Glow of the Oil".) -Odeum of Illusions -Poland- (Circus attraction, can be considered the true sequel to Hidden Retreat. Special stage that can be selected with L1/LB instead of R1/RB, which gives Strategic Space -Dubai-. Theme is "Fantastic Theater".)
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 The Tag Assault mechanic acts a bit weird when it comes to positioning you point character before coming back to do a finisher. Either: 1. Your point character automatically positions him/herself before coming back. 2. He/she doesn't, making you unable to finish a combo. 3. Apparently you're suppose to manually position your point character. 1 and 3 is something I'm trying to solve, but I'm certain ya'll know more about this than I do.
iw2ma Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Well after being in training mode for hours you can see, for a lot of the time, one you tag your character in for the Tag Assault and do the move, you can move your other character before they're available to attack.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 LOL Ah, gotta love Week 1 unbalances/glitches.
Timother Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Hi, I'm Timother and seriously man that was amazing. Tekken has never been that good so far. I love this game but now I would like to lay my hands on this one. Hope i get to play it very soon.
SolxBaiken Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 As the topic implies, would anyone be interested in participating in weekly "tournaments" online? Thanks to Tag 2's superb netcode and the great stat analysis of World Tekken Federation, I think this would be great in order to keep the community (both on and offline) thriving. We could host 6~8 weeks on consecutive meetups, taking a month long break in between each "season". Since WTF tracks stats of Player Matches we can compile performance throughout the time of the tournaments and even have awards like "Most Consistent Player" and "Most Improved Player" and the likes. Unfortunately Tag 2 lacks a massive player lobby like Soul Calibur V had, so this means (depending on the number of attendees) it may take a bit longer and wouldn't flow as consistently, but we can work out those specifics before the first tournament. If this sounds like an interesting prospect please post a suggested day and time (with timezone) for the events to occur (I'm taking in others opinions to gauge a relatively good time to start). And if you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to ask them as I want to get as much ironed out to ensure a smooth first, and continued events. More details will be forthcoming should the interest be there! Yes, no, maybe so?
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 That's your quote, right? Well, that depends on the day itself and the time.
Vulcan422 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Finally found my main team: Kazuya/Bryan. Subs are Asuka/Feng and Asuka/Kazuya. Also, DLC distribution begins October 9.
Starlight777 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I heard Patch 1.02 is live for PSN. Is that true?
SolxBaiken Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Indeed it is, downloading now, afterwords I'll check the JPN PSN (FYI v1.02 is 32mb) EDIT: When the Store updates we'll have the ability to buy the Tekken 1~Tag OSTs for Tekken Tunes Otherwise the patch pretty much adds all the important stuff; characters, stages, this weird decal mode, and they imported the Global Collosio from SCV into Tag 2's netplay options (best addition IMO) I honestly can't get hyped for the clones (would've liked to seen Dr. B first :<) Edited October 9, 2012 by SolxBaiken
Starlight777 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 When I downloaded the patch, I tried out Sebastian. Despite being a clone, his subtle differences make him seem better than Lili. His back 1 normal bounds, making it easier to do tag assaults. The decal thing is basically being able to put stickers on your costumes like SCV. (as if I had it hard enough trying to stay out of customization)
Tsuki Garyuu Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Otherwise the patch pretty much adds all the important stuff; characters, stages, this weird decal mode, and they imported the Global Collosio from SCV into Tag 2's netplay options (best addition IMO) Holy shit, I thought they scrapped that. Thank god it's there, it was way better being in one huge lobby challenging players, showing off costumes and whatnot in SCV.
