I've been on training trying to avoid Hazama's 214D~A, but I can't even pull it off once. Is there any trick to it? If you have the foresight to predict these attacks wouldn't 6A lead to better stuff?

There is no trick to it. You have to actually react to these attacks and do 5D. You can catch the recovery of these attacks with w[5B]. Or if you avoid ragna's 6D you have enough time to transform back and do 2C

Against Tager you can also end with ... > [h]j.B > dj.7B > dj.C if you feel like running away. It should connect thanks to Tager's large hitbox if you start as close as possible for the first j.B, and you'll end up half a screen away or more when you land; keeping you from having to deal with 360/720 shenanigans.

Explain why anyone would do it, this is not good

have you tested this shit?

I'm fairly certain I explained why in the post itself. I would like to know why it's a bad idea.

It is fine, he is just looking for a reason to troll. The kid does not understand he was perma-banned for a reason.

I personally use that ender a lot myself. Makes all the Tager's I play rage :P

ok, I really can't get the 5D to evade Hazama's stuff, may stick to 6A :v:

It's tomorrow guys, wish me and all of the gimmicks good luck

Good luck, GenoW. Stick with what you know if you can't get 5D to work.

Thanks to Kiba for the CSE Guide. For the [h]236A entry, should we mention that it sends airborne opponents flying on hit?

You have to do 5D late the timing is similar to avoiding jin"s 6B

Good stuff yo.

Updated Valk wiki. It'll be cleared up more as time passes.

Awesome job. Put the vids in the video thread when you see them :3

Had a couple of ?s on some of the changes in Valk's move properties in Ex. For human 236A - what kind of followups are allowed now (on hit or on block)? Also, is there a way to pick up a combo with human 2C after h. jC knockdown?

On hit, the only way to followup is rapid cancel into another normal. The basic combo is to use 236A - 2C and you can check the combo thread for more combos involving it. On block, it's 0 on block, and usually any followup pressure you try to do can get beaten by an opponent's attack, that's including if it's wolf cancelled. I wouldn't completely recommend using it on block without meter because it's quite unsafe.

There is not, but Valk's new combos allow you to followup j.C with 2A or 5B when landing.

Got it, thanks. So basically his midscreen game hasn't really changed much I take it. Seems like 236A has more corner use but that's about it.

*posts grand finals*

I look like such a scrub in that :vbang:

Pfft. :v:

It helps that you can actually watch it again and learn from it though. Good stuff. Congratz on your tournament win again.

I rewatched it and I made some points to myself:

-I jump too much

-I repeat the same blockstring too much... A grab after 6B wouldn't have killed anybody!

-Nerves make me drop combos...

-I jump too much!

-I'm too impatient and just do shit with wolf mode and that makes me get hit way easily

-I use super when it's not gonna kill and I should save that meter for counter assault

-fuckbang

-I should vary up my wakeup instead of always doing 6b or 6c.

But eh, I'll learn. I still think the end of the finals (part two) was the best moment of my entire life :vbang:

Then again you don't want to make it easy for Bang to get you. Combine this with wolf movements, and you're good.

-I repeat the same blockstring too much... A grab after 6B wouldn't have killed anybody!

Which allows your opponent to read you easily.

-Nerves make me drop combos...

Happens to everyone, or most people. It happens to me, and nervousness isn't exactly something you can shrug off easily. You'll get used to it as you participate in more tournaments.

-I jump too much!

:v

You sometimes use drain a lot of wolf meter in the process too. Be sure to look out and revert to human mode pressure if necessary.

Well, in EX, while CAs are viable, remember they remove a primer now, and Valk has 4. :V

-fuckbang

Agreed.

-I should vary up my wakeup instead of always doing 6b or 6c.

Indeed. You have so many tools at your disposal. Make your opponent fear you. Frustrate them into making mistakes, like rage bursting. Then applaud.
