Ginseng Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I don't know anything about this character, just do whatever here and I'll make a bullet point list probably. I like bullet points because they're easy to read.
Cereal24 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 2C can do absolutely NOTHING against his jC. 5b whiff's wolf form valk has great mixup game he can and WILL break your guard primers with ease. only use 2d to charge unless you've knocked him away, he can preasure in a similar manner to tao. your 2c can beat out any move he does to dash in while in wolf form. his anti air isnt that great, use that to your advantage. 22d unblock able reset will probably get stopped by 5b
LordSpectreX Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 236D clashes with Wolf Dash. This matchup is stupid.
JinSaotome Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 his anti air isnt that great, use that to your advantage. his 6A and 2C are both pretty good. Also, 2C will fuck you up on CHs and corner hits. ;X
TD Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 definitely in his favor. l'd say 6-4. Not sure if he has a dp but it usually dosen't matter b/c tsu's pressure isn't too gdlk. He far outranges her and his air approach can screw with 2c due to him being semi unpredictable in the skies, like a better taokaka. l honestly have no surefire counters... tsu's moves just get beat out too much to get in, stay in, and do damage. But what else is new.
Zeromus_X Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Valk really doesn't have a reversal (6A is as bad as Rachel's cat chair imo), so be unpredictable with charge cancelling and mix in some throws and you should be good. If Tsubaki can actually get in, the matchup doesn't look good for Valk. I can imagine this being even /theoryfightan
Heroic_Legacy Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Valk kills you in 2 combos. No way this matchup is even.

lxMetalSonicxl Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Rush dat shit down, dp all day... ...Fuck wait for balance patch.
Kiba Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Another matchup that's not so good for our gal. 2C Helps to beat his wolf rush attacks right? You will need to have very good blocking when he's pressuring youYou need good mobility and spacing, I honestly cannot find myself staying in the same position for more than a secondAt the beginning of a match you're better off blocking, back-dashing, because one of his moves has range (sorry I don't know his inputs)After his barge pressure attack, it's likely that any button you press will result in you getting hit, or your move trading.I found that using her DP in some situations, 75% of them resulted in trades.A rushdown tactic is not a bad idea, just watch out when he gets 50% + heat. Get away from the wall. That's where he gets his damage. If you are in a fix, maybe try 632D and a 214x followup to get out.I dislike this matchup
STenSatsu Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 If you IB the shoulder charge just mash jab. Unless he tries to read it with super or does the Dandy step wolf he has to block or eat jabs.
TD Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 If you IB the shoulder charge just mash jab. Unless he tries to read it with super or does the Dandy step wolf he has to block or eat jabs. um, that rarely works. l've been beaten a lot by supposed ib charge punish. And l ib alot, even online. The fucking charge is gdlk. dp beats it though.
STenSatsu Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Well, personally never eaten anything by jabbing after IBing 236a online or offline and have been hit out of everything including wolf cancel by others hitting jab after IB. (Doesn't even need IB to hit me out of wolf cancel normally.) Now, without official frame data I can't explicitly prove this, but Sparks puts 236a at +2 which means -3 on IB. Tsubaki could technically even 5b and beat jab or throw (his fastest options) out with perfect timing. Without attack level I couldn't give you SD on wolf canceling, but if people can punish it without IB I highly doubt it's safe with IB.

IB charge to 2A/5A does indeed work just fine given then either try to continue their block string with their own 2A/5A or decide to neutral wolf cancel B/A. The problem happens when they 6D wolf cancel(given the valk is on the left side) after charge, while you're whiffing your jabs, they'll wolf form 6 for a second and then come back in with their B attack that will connect over 2A/5A most of the time or they could just 6D cancel 236A to go right through you. Not too many valks use their wolf form well in their block strings/mix ups just yet and his BnB low/uppercut mix up is rather easy to deal with. When you run into those that bait and wolf form cancel everything, it becomes real tough to punish them and block their strings.
STenSatsu Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Ya I know. 4d and 7d are what I mean by Dandy Wolf because he goes away and comes back like Slayer's Dandy Step move. You obviously don't have to mash jab either though, just do hit it till one comes out. If he dandys you can probably just 2c whatever he decides to come in with though if you react in time. (I'm sure dandy is gonna be reactable fairly easily once people see it more.)
Kiba Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 5B beats his wolf charge attack (where he moves horizontally towards you)
Rhiya Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 5B beats his wolf charge attack (where he moves horizontally towards you) This is worth celebrating. Cut the cake and get some damn ice cream, people
Kiba Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Lol. I'm glad I could help. 2C can do absolutely NOTHING against his jC. I'm not sure this is entirely true because I've actually beaten his j.c with 2C sometimes. Doesn't/didn't work all the time but still helps. It might be better to block and take it, but Tsubaki is mostly on the defensive so rather a 623B instead (not all the time). I'll be sure to let you know anything else I could come up with.

I'll be sure to let you know anything else I could come up with. Ya, I've beaten Valk's jC with 2C before but the timing and angle is a bit tricky compared to most other jump ins. Getting hit by a CH jC from Valk opens up a world of pain though so I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it unless you're real confident in the timing.
CrescentSaber Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 The most important thing is to not get stuck blocking too much against Valk. I've beaten his j.C with her 2C before too but you have to anticipate it a little. 5B isn't bad for keeping him back while on the ground. 623x works pretty well against him but don't get too greedy with it. If he baits it you could lose half of your life or more.
