ZONG_one Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 It's actually quite a while. Not sure on the frames though, but it's longer than you'd think. Also, I don't know why people still barrier OS in this game. It's doesn't fucking work, stop doing it.
dragontamer Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 That brings me to my question. How long are you put into throw reject state after hitting B+C? Could be useful. Maybe I'll have to hit the man up on Throw Reject State frames. I don't know the exact frames, but it must be pretty large. As a random guess, I'd say its at least 20 frames, probably more. If you counter-hit someone's grab with 5A and then BC, it will still show up as a throw-reject. EDIT here's where I get the 20 frame number: You'll have all of 5A's startup (5 frames for Noel), followed by ~10 frames of hitstop, followed by 7 frames of throw-startup. This here is a total of 22 frames already. So we know the throw-reject timing is massive to say the least. There's a chance that the throw-reject timer doesn't include the hitstop however... but effectively, hitstop will always be there.
Lord Knight Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 It's actually quite a while. Not sure on the frames though, but it's longer than you'd think. Also, I don't know why people still barrier OS in this game. It's doesn't fucking work, stop doing it. It's pretty simple isn't it? There are some characters where it's still safer to just use OS tech rather than using B+C to throw tech. The normals that people use to beat throw whiff just lead to too much damage to risk it (Jin 6B is a good example, I don't want to get hit by 6B ch starter in the corner ever). However it's safe to say you should just use both methods if possible.
ZONG_one Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Maybe in certain situations (standing while Jin is dashing at your face, etc) and not just fighting Jin in general would make more sense to me. I see your logic, but the solution to that is to react and not predict. unrelated: fuck Jin 6B.
Yggjrasil Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 unrelated: fuck Jin 6B. :o What you mean, Zong? I'm sure a player like you could react to this shit all the time, Every time I see this move coming I hit that shit with Inferno Divider like 95% the time, that move is stupid unsafe against Ragna on block. Related: I see Kaqn do some interesting shenanigans to cause Throw Reject, He throws out 2A while they are crouching, 5A whiff, dash 5A whiff, grab.
ZONG_one Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I don't have a reversal, silly, it's not like I get hit very often by it. And vivace'ing melee isn't flashy. Only time I like to parade around my vivace reaction time is w/ sparkbolt. pft. ...inferno divider.
Beautiful Death Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 throw reject miss=frame 4-30 after OS throw break attempt, or 30f after last input if you did multiple inputs for whatever reason and if i'm reading it right, if you don't use the OS throw break it's from frame 17-30 for clarity's sake, this is from the mook This is what The Man says. So.....pretty long. Thank god for The Man.
Lord Knight Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Maybe in certain situations (standing while Jin is dashing at your face, etc) and not just fighting Jin in general would make more sense to me. I see your logic, but the solution to that is to react and not predict. unrelated: fuck Jin 6B. Pretty much, still try to react, but don't use B+C, imo. I've seen players get CH'd out of throw startup and still got throw rejected :/
huey253 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Pretty much, still try to react, but don't use B+C, imo. I've seen players get CH'd out of throw startup and still got throw rejected :/ the window is soo large on throw reject that this will happen every time. reacting to throws and ibing 2A is impossible in america though...
ZONG_one Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 huey, you're an idiot sometimes. D: you're in america, I'm sure you can tech a throw. why bring up america in every post?
huey253 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 idk, maybe if keep mentioning how much america sucks at fighting games, it might inspire change or something.... idk i don't really have a good reason, if its offensive i'll stop :3

ZONG_one Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Yeah, the first 2 or 3 matches I played against him, I was like wtf bitch. Seriously happened like 3 or 4 times per game. Then I was like oh. I'm not online (nor does it even exist for this game yet,) I don't need to yomi throw tech. Learning something new ftw.
Jason D. He did indeed! That's when I started doing it. (Protip: It still works on Zong. kitty.) But I guess no one but us knew until this thread. Whoops.
