Sophisticat Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 ^ You need to lose twice before being kicked out of the tourney. It also means there's a "winner's" and "loser's" brackets. Grand finals is winner of losers vs. winner of winner's. Also: Eb, the location this time isn't the HQ, it's some downtown location that hasn't been announced. Might want to update that info.
Wolf of Sorrow Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Ok,Thanks Sophisticat. Edited November 23, 2010 by Wolf of Sorrow
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 that sounds good only because I use one character WOW YOU POSTED o_O?!!! Also: Eb, the location this time isn't the HQ, it's some downtown location that hasn't been announced. Might want to update that info. Will do.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Toronto's BB community is going to be making an appearance at Nemesis II, with me as its sole rep. I love the Montreal community, I love the city and since you guys came out for T11 I want to show my appreciation by making the trip down. Get hype! If anyone wants to money match me, shoot me a PM/wall post.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Lol I'm going to let my friend know, he might money match you. once I tell him your 5th best in T.O. I personally just want a taste of what toronto has to offer.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I hope I don't disappoint haha, I definitely want to play your Hakumen. Btw, I don't think I've heard of Rameo, Kirbster and Monster King before, who do they play? Brice mentioned a beast Bang player.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Rameo= Hazama, placed second in both tournaments Kisbster= zoning girls (officially rachel, but has a beast lambda, better than airmaster imo), placed third in november of mashfest. monster king= bang (though part co-team captain of Team NAH, so I don't know if you'll get to play him), placed fourth in october edition.
Wolf of Sorrow Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Wow this tournament willl be something big with those Toronto and Us Montreal Blazblue Players. Edited November 24, 2010 by Wolf of Sorrow
Sophisticat Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Woot, we'd be glad to have you Tofu. :D I hope I don't disappoint haha, We should be saying that! It's our first time hosting in a major, so hopefully we can pull it off. I think you know Kirbster, he was there at T11. Short guy with dark hair in a ponytail, played Rachel? Also, do let us know if you have any trouble getting around MTL. We know the area, so we can help out with your planning. I think we can expect ~20 people to show up. Hopefully. We thought monthly tourneys would bring in the crowds, but apparently not right off the bat. We'll see how it goes.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I definitely know Kirbster, just didn't know him by name, thanks. And that expected turnout is pretty damn good all things considered, your scene is still pretty young. I want the NAHs to come out in full force though, if I can travel 5 - 6 hours to play you guys, they can make the trip too. As far as planning goes, do you guys of any hotels fairly close to the venue? I'd appreciate it!
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Team NAH is a force to be reckoned with. Enrique just pointed me to a new one, I'll probably join that site he showed me. Play niggas online, if they like skills gap between you and him they'll come out to play.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I usually swear off online play in the month leading up to a tournament, but if they want to play me they can, my XBL GT is Tofu Demon.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 Add my cousine who lives in Beaconsville, ON, MacabreHumour. It's farm area, but I think you guys would get a level 4 connection. He comes down to mtl to visit his mom during holidays. He plays a solid arakune imo at least.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Awesome, I don't get much Arakune practice because we only have one here and he just wipes the floor with me so it's hard to learn.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 In that case, playing him may do you good, online does have SOME uses. Especially in the continent of N.A, unlike jp, where where everyone plays everyone.
Tofu Warrior Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Online is only good for learning match ups, or playing drunk, but that's about it.
J-KT21 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi there people, I would like to know if there is anything other than monthly tournaments for BlazBlue in Montreal? Because I'm still terrible at this game and would like to learn some more before pitching in money aimlessly and get my ass beaten on the first round.

Wolf of Sorrow Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) LOCATION: Nemesis 2 location, TBA Waths TBA? Edited November 27, 2010 by Wolf of Sorrow
Brice Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 YEAH 5 am post... you're not talking about mu-12 in the first post, poor pochp :P, but since you're allowing makoto, i think she is too....
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 Mu-12 is allowed. Last thing I want is salty hispanic people. Him and Enrique might roll up on my house with their "compadres".
pochp Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Well I was thinking about this a lot, and as much as I have no problem with plat and valk being banned, the patch is another issue. Let's say it's released on the 9th on both consoles and about half of us are like shiit finals must study no time for bbcs and the other half are like omg sweet patch fuck finals. Since the changes affect every character, not only the way to play them but also against them, it would be sad for those who got suddenly used to a whole set of changes to have to get un-used to them. However the other option would put pressure on those focusing on finals to play, which is something we definitely don't want. I don't really mind either way because my character is getting an additional jump cancel, an improvement to 236A, and losing the extremely high damage combos that I drop 2/3 times, so no real changes to gameplay, just new combos to learn. The question is : are 2 weeks enough for you guys to get used to the changes? This all becomes irrelevant if the patch doesn't come out so I guess it comes down to: let's wait and see. I just wanted to bring up the whole debate so people can post about this instead of platains/snow/scrubrice/etc.
Sophisticat Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I see what you mean, but Nemesis is simply too close to release. If it were in Feb instead, it would be less of a problem. You have to consider that some characters might play completely differently. Have you seen the number of changes on Haku alone? CS Haku was one of the least changed characters, but it still took me 2 months to really get used to him. There's too much change in CS2; we wouldn't be playing at our best. But if it turns out the console patch is different than CS2, then I think we could consider it...
