Revealed at the latest V-Jump magazine (i havent found a scan yet) and developed by Bandai-Namco and for Arcade (!!!). DB Zenkai Battle Royale is a new fighting game "in full 3D fields", so i guess they are making some kind of Budokai Tenkaichi/Raging Blast clone for Arcades, with 4 players support. Hmm... not really hyped but i wonder if this is gonna be "competitive" and balanced now that we are talking about an Arcade game...
RaveSage Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Do these DBZ games EVER get any real competitive scene? I played some of the older ones but considering there are what... 12+ of these I'm not sure what to think about these, ever.
Hecatom Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 you would be surptised the amount of tournaments that we have on my country for games like DBZBT3 DBZT3 and DBZRB2 to name some if there is people willing to play there would people willing to play competitively too

Setsuna Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Interesting ... a Battle Royal, SSMB like ? First thing that comes to mind is Tenkaichi/Raging Blast with AMAZING GRAPHICS ! and more options now, from what it looks like you can run now too ... which i hope helps greatly cause it was hell trying to move around in RB2
Blade Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 So let me guess: Arcade Game + Just Happens to be in Japan + Japanese Players = Competitive Scene? Give me a break, please.
RaveDX Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Man they just wont leave this DB alone XD... This game looks fun as hell though, just loving the idea of wailing on anyone that comes across u in a four player game with a large 3D plane to fight on, sounds awesome. Cant get over how Goku used Vageta as a meat shield lol, thats for sure gonna brake out some good times when people are playing with their friends.
haketh Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 So let me guess: Arcade Game + Just Happens to be in Japan + Japanese Players = Competitive Scene? Give me a break, please. Never heard of Virtual On or Gundamn vs Gundamn Next+ I take it
Blade Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Never heard of Virtual On or Gundamn vs Gundamn Next+ I take it No, I have, I'm just mad that console games don't get the same competitive love.
haketh Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 No, I have, I'm just mad that console games don't get the same competitive love. SDBZ and Budokai 3.1 had/were building up scenes, it's just that the terrible Tenkaichi series took over.
Hecatom Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) tenkaichi is awesome mind you, DBZB3 is ok, SDBZ is garbage http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13003489 Edited December 13, 2010 by Hecatom
Dragonslayer9 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 looks like a highly modified version of Tenkaichi tag teams engine, which isn't that bad imo.

furix Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I get sad knowing that we will never have a DBZ game as good as Super DBZ was. :[
Hecatom Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 super dbz is overrated as a fg is mediocre at best and as a dbz is totally subpar dbz is about persons of mass destruction that can destroy the universe in a sneeze, sdbz doesnt provide the dbz experience at all
SolxBaiken Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 So let me get this straight... Rather than have a fair, competitive grade fighter you'd prefer to have a shit fest with big explosions? (。-`ω´-) Eh, if that's how the fanbase of these games works I say make a Dragon Ball fighter and let the fist fly! Σ(゚∀´(┗┐ヽ(・∀・ )ノ
Hecatom Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 So let me get this straight... Rather than have a fair, competitive grade fighter you'd prefer to have a shit fest with big explosions? (。-`ω´-) Eh, if that's how the fanbase of these games works I say make a Dragon Ball fighter and let the fist fly! Σ(゚∀´(┗┐ヽ(・∀・ )ノ when it comes to dbz i want the dbz experience, sdbz doesnt have the feel that makes dbz what it is. the only reason why is a dbz game is because it has the dbz characters on it, outside that the game doesnt offer anything to the true dbz fans, yes you can say that the game is quite good from fg standards but at the same time, there are better options, that offer more not only for the fg fans but for the public in general, sdbz doesnt have a flavor that make it shine another thing not every game out there needs to be hurr durr tournament material, plus who says that you cant make tournaments for the other games, i have been participating and making tournaments for the budokai & tenkaichi series for years, we even had them on tv many times, as long as there is people willing to compete, anything can be competitive besides who says that you cant have the over the top feeling that makes dbz what it is and at the same time a solid game? imo zenkai is better attempt of trying to get that, they are actually trying to make a good game while keeping the dbz elements true to themselves
SolxBaiken Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Look I'm not saying there's ANYTHING wrong with the Budokai games, I've played damn near every one, and of course there's nothing wrong with holding tournaments for it, but let's get real, those games have been stale and awful since B3, unlike other fighters they didn't try to evolve, and without evolution something might as well be dead. All they did was give you more throwaway fighters which were all empty husk with the same beam based attacks. Also the "DBZ experience" means watching 2 people shout at each other and power up for 5 episodes before a single fist (or beam) is thrown... I don't see how Super DBZ was any less DBZ than other titles, it still had iconic characters with signature attacks and fancy blasts, it just tried to evolve the series of game by putting a bigger emphasis on the physical confrontation. Which is again why I said I would love to have a Dragon Ball fighter, back when the series was more than just power levels and aliens. Honestly other fighters have become more "DBZ" by your definition, as seen in large over the top super attacks (like Ultras in SF4) so it's perfectly possible to have the best of both worlds cause everyone ELSE is doing it. I'm all for fun, but there also has to be reason to keep coming back and after 12+ games of flinging beams, mashing clashes, and wading through cut/paste characters, I would gladly like to welcome another game like Super DBZ, but according to you I need to pray and hope they use the Dragon Ball universe to do it.
