Making the image smaller makes them cleaner. Also if it helps, I manually draw in my lines since I can't use pen tool for the life of me. u_u Here's a link for the zama lineart. http://i.imgur.com/DmiiZ.jpg I think that's the original size (unless imgur resized it) and as you can see it's pretty messy.
