Reasons I use D:

1. Use in combos.

2. Go through your shit.

3. Cross up with 2D.

4. Throw bait with 2D(Counts as going through your shit).

5. Catch you jumping out with 2D.

If I am using Drive while you are blocking, its only because I wanted to go through something I thought you were going to throw out, yet I guess wrong and instead I have to do something to get me out of trouble, which is impossible if you have a DP and use it right after blocking my first drive move.

If you feel the need to commit to a strategy like that, then you should be playing it more safe to avoid having your moves stuffed, try conditioning more.

I think that is the whole point of moves being punishable.

Noel gets no respect.

Just like rachel.

Thank you.

I've tried every approach, but every strategy Noel has relies on her drives, I'd love to explain, but I feel that all I would get in return is more trolling.

Still <3 you guys though.

I'm pretty sure he meant that you shouldn't say anything about guessing wrong if you did something stupid in the first place. I don't use the follow up attack to Hell's Fang in hopes they try to punish the first move and get stuffed for their impatience or lack of attentiveness to detail. A better example would be using Ragna's 6D in pressure. It's just not smart. Of course, if they block the first hit, I need to figure out how to get out of the scenario safely. If I think they won't be 'smart' and punish me, I try to j.D cancel into an attack. Bad habits are bad. /shrug

Delay the second attack while watching the opponent, and this works a lot more than it should.

on netplay, and yes I have done this before on offline scrubs

LOL when I 6D I jump cancel and mash ID right when I am about to touch their head because I will RC anyways, If I hit I get 50 heat if not I get lol pressure.

fuck ragna.

Also Rachel, Noel, and Tsubaki sucks because they all gotta do risky or gimmicky shit to get anything out, meaning everyone will always rape them if they catch them for it.

Tager on the other hand is designed to punish mistakes and punish them hard but even he has difficulty doing so.

In fact tager is the only low tier that doesn't have to do exceedingly risky shit to get damage...Too bad tager being there/Throwing out a poke is risky.

But hey he has 13k hp so whatever.

The difference between your exemple and Noel's drives is that you can actually jump cancel the j.D, so you're aren't as vulnerable.

I do this all the time against Luna, Shadow, and at ranbats. It works, but like throws, can't be thrown out constantly. Think of it as mix-up. Kinda. :psyduck:

There's avoiding getting hit before 6D connects, then hoping they don't MOVE if you jump cancel. There's a distinct lack of options when you don't have 50 heat to waste on a "LOL ID 'CAUSE I CAN" moment.

It's not the same Katz, you're still talking like I pressure with Drive, whenever I push the D button I'm not trying to catch your pressure or mix you up. If I D during a blockstring, its to catch you trying to poke me out of pressure, which is easy as fuck to do, unlike every other character who can punish an attempted "poke out" by using a normal, I have to use a drive.

Noel Vs. Hazama:

Noel has Hazama in a pressure string. lets say: 5A > 2B > Dash in > 5A > 5A > 2B, do this enough times and the Hazama will notice when you dash in, so he tries to 2A out of your next dash, but you anticipate this, so you use Noel's 2D, in hopes the Hazama did try to 2A out of your pressure, if he did, you get a free combo, if he didn't you're fucked.

6D is relatively safe in pressure, actually, if being a follow up to normals like 5B>5C. If it's blocked, gatling into j.D and then jump-cancelling that makes it almost completely nonpunishable.

Giving up pressure with 6D -> Jump barrier is a great way for Ragna to lose all his momentum and die against people who know what they're doing.

I guess, but then again, Ragna in general dies easily against people who know what they're doing.

Gotta love his 10K health.

The main point I was trying to make was to stop doing stupid/risky things when you shouldn't in the first place. You shouldn't try stagger pressure for too long, especially if your normals aren't that great in comparison to the rest of the cast's normals. It's better to try actual mixup instead of continuing block strings that aren't going anywhere in the first place. You have them blocking at first, so why not go for an overhead or throw instead of asking to be hit..? :vbang:
