[CSE] Hakumen Video Thread

It used to be high reward in CT. Well, not really even then, just not terrible reward. In CS2 it wasn't worth it. I'm not sure if they made it so you can get more damage off of them now.

Seems to be the same reward in CSEX.

Meh, the only counter ever worth mashing was CS1 j.D. shit was free damage.

I've otherwise never felt counters to be more than high-risk / mid/low-reward tools. They're mostly just there to deter overly predictable or gung-ho opponents.

However, it should be said that if you are particularly skilled at using counters, that alone reduces the risk. Experience alone accounts for the large part of your success in the use of counters. It's not because we say it shouldn't be used that it shouldn't, just that these tools aren't worth it to us. Maybe they fit your playstyle more, and you'll do really well with them. Just expect to spend a lot of time getting down the timing and reading your opponent's patterns.

I personally like using them. I was just saying the damage return on them has been a lot lower than it used to be.

Nolan, name one hakumen player that doesn't get blown up in one round by grabs and counter baits. Mashing that shit won't avail to much, but yes they're more just deterrents. Yukikaze with each games iteration however, has become an increasingly viable tool for physical/projectile counters. As of now, it lasts for 27 frames, that's awesome.

It's great against Hazama and Lambda. I like saving it until the end of the match against Hazama, when they feel the safest spamming chains. Then Yukikaze that shit for the win.

So Kishuu looks really really fast now. It looks awesome. It took me until Jourdal's latest vids of Kagetsu to realize it for some reason.

Another thing that I love is that the new midscreen 3 star BnB gives FULL screen carry and does 3k just from 2a.

What appears to be, if only the second hit of Renka lands on an opponent on the ground, the opponent will not wall-bounce. I'd like somebody else to take a look at it and see if I interpreted this right.

Hmm, I seem to remember some players doing a combo where you'd Kishuu after a Renka but the Renka would still wallbounce. I'll go look around some more. Your explanation sounds quite valid though.

I'm assuming the new enma combo goes into jA jB 2C just for the corner carry because iirc, 5C starter does at least 3k whilst the corner carry one in the video does 2.9k.

Probably a safe assumption, since it's so much easier to get the opponent to the corner for cheap where the magatama really make a big damage conversion. I see jp Hakus using 2 star combos midscreen when they have like 6+ stars all the time.

Actually was surprised that there were no parry combos in this video because I have seen some instances in match vids of ones that could have greater carry than CS2 versions/combos with minor changes to CS2 versions.

Why do hakus using mugen from throw do 6a wallbounce before 6c ---> mugen?

Wouldn't grab --> 6c ---> Mugen work just as well and have less starting proration once you start tsubakicopter?

That combo vid was amazing btw.

Most likely because throw>6A>6C guarantees that 6C will have the longer untechable frames from being hit close to the ground (untechable till they stop sliding) and in CS2 to land 6C from a throw you needed very specific spacing.

Is it me or does Spark look like he's too much into CSE during that CS2 video vs. Dsmoove? jB counter hit to 5C, hit confirming everything everything into Renka, etc.

Also, can jB CH go into 5C now if the opponent is close enough to the ground in CSE?
