TD Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 think about who will get hit by a raw 5b midscreen from a mu player though, outside of oki. not only that, but ok, the string pushes you back. mu still has to know exactly what to do afterward, since death is certain for a mu that mashes. if she corners you? so what? you actually have to KNOW mu's strings along with stein placement. shes not your 'herp autopilot blockstring' type at all (at advanced levels). its all a mind game because her mixup is ass without planning setups beforehand (unless the opponent is the type to get hit by slow ass overheads... lol) scrub mu players would need to know how to use her c normals correctly since theyre very punishable if whiffed, CORRECT stein placement for correct trapping... l mean really, combos arent everything. a bad, even a decent mu has trouble keeping the entire cast off of her. no 'scrub' is going to be kicking ass and taking names on day 1 like cs1 ragna.
LunaKage Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Exactly, like CS1 Ragna. That's what I was saying from the beginning =w=
Gil Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) eh, not really. Combos aren't everything. What makes a character like Mu not ez mode is basically what TD said: spacing with her c normals and setting up properly. Much like any zoner. Not Ragna easy imo Edited April 8, 2011 by Gil
Nini Heart Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Just play Noel if you want an ezmode character who can kick scrub ass for free with minimal effort. Oh wait....
C0R Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I think you guys are just reading too far into what Luna was trying to say. Her combos are just pretty free-form and easy to hit-confirm into, with decent damage output without fine tuning. Her normals are considerably more applicable now with the reduced recovery time, meaning she's less of a headache in neutral, especially for an experienced player. Not that she'll play that way at maximum capacity. Ragna is also actually quite complex if you take into account many of his different oki endings and more advanced options, but that doesn't meant you can't blow people up with B>C>DxN.
huey253 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 PNW releases scrub matches. None of them play anime music. For shame. my bad bro i got you next time.
Jourdal Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 @COR Ragna is actually interesting...he's always been interesting, but no one really uses that way..i can name on one hand the players that could do meterless 22C followups, however when your basic combo can lead to 4k..or a minimum of 3.6 there's really no reason to force creativity .
mAc Chaos Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 > hazama combo what happened to repeat move proration :P
Nini Heart Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 No repeat proration on 6C + 2 midcombo gold bursts = lolz. I can't wait to mess around with gold bursts and makoto's 150 proration parry lol.
mAc Chaos Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I wonder what would happen if you set bursts to infinite in training mode and then just did like 4 gold bursts in a row and then a combo.
Jourdal Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) Oh shit Kogatan popped up in Acho @_@. Watching Ketuago-edges ragna, definitely the sickest ragna out there imo. Deadspike>3C>22C /stolen. Edited April 8, 2011 by Jourdal
GenoWhirl Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 [Gold Burst]x35>5B>5C (15,000 dmg, 5 heat)? IT WILL BE DONE
smooshman Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 dennou and kaqn was pretty hype. lol Kaqn must have thought he had it in the bag: danger mode a primer and a half 1 combo from death. 2D out nope. ice arrows>gg lol
Mumm-Ra Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 These matches only needed a Yukikaze thrown in there to be 100% gdlk. Perhaps next time.
TD Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4eZNjlTcnk 8:48 valkenhayn ragequitting. l lol'd
Jourdal Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 These matches only needed a Yukikaze thrown in there to be 100% gdlk. Perhaps next time. It does good damage now...a bit over 3k i think? It's not SO much a flashy waste of meter anymore so you'd think you'd see it more often... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4eZNjlTcnk 8:48 valkenhayn ragequitting. l lol'd Fucking lulz, tager causes rage quits globally. Galileo and Tsuji tearing it up at acho was godlike as usual, dem 7k makoto combos.
pktazn Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 A Hakumen also ragequitted iirc lol. I forgot which part though.
Sophisticat Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 A Hakumen also ragequitted iirc lol. I forgot which part though. The fuck? Ban him.
smooshman Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 It does good damage now...a bit over 3k i think? It's not SO much a flashy waste of meter anymore so you'd think you'd see it more often... it's also unpunishable.... lolinvulnframeslol
Nini Heart Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Wow the red Jin in those acho videos is something else. I like his style, gimmicks and resets all day.
Jourdal Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 The red jin (assuming its the video i watched) is Kogatan, qualified for SBO in CT and CS using jin made it past the first round losing to chou after beating Tsuji's tao =(. You don't see much of him at all so i was surprised he showed up at acho.
Nini Heart Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 His use of ice car is pretty impressive. Def my fav jin so far. Acho looks so competitive @_@
