1: with ragna, is it okay to auto pilot dead spike after a 2c in pressure. if it FC's, i know a combo, but if its on reg hit/block, is it a bad idea?

2: need a troll dp rc combo for ragna. chris, help me out.

3: need to practice more. xbl netplayers, when are you guys available mostly so i can get my training on? like a real training session

also up to 5.6 for fc 2c midscreen with 50 meter. 5k flat without meter. im so happy with ragna. combos are fun enough, i get a dp, i actually do damage now

@Iora: I don't main Ragna, I only sub him and I'm sure SKD can give you better tips if he actually responds again. lol If he doesn't though, I can give you my input.

1: Fixed* In all honesty, not really, 2C into Dead spike puts you at -10... Dead spike is very easy to jump over on reaction or from that close just mash out of. Shit gets worse for you too if the opponent is Instant blocking waiting for an opportunity to mash like that. Not to say dead spike isn't useful in pressure, but its a little iffy there and you should definitely use it sparingly.

2: 623C, ABC, Dash, 5C, 5D~Dash, 2C~6A, Jump cancel, J.D, Jump cancel, J.D 623D~236C~214D is a pretty good one. There is more you can do in the corner but thats for mid screen.

3: Whenever you wanna go Iora, just message me on here, I'm normally around and can hop on. I just hate my net. lol

Lich careful there.. your explanation of the gap between 2C and dead spike is way off. Remember, static difference is ONLY meaningful if you do not cancel. With the blockstun of 2C, I'm guessing it's something like 18 frames (I really have no idea, so really take this with a grain of salt), meaning you have much closer to about 10 frames gap, which is both much more reasonable and also still mashable in most contexts. So what you were saying is still true, just the explanation of frames was way off.

EDIT: Wow, guessed it perfect. On a crouching opponent, 2C has 18 (16 standing, +2 frames for crouching)frames of blockstun.

lich that DP combo isn't a troll combo, it's a combo.

see if you can burn all your meter getting them past the top of the screen with DP > upper RC xN then purple grab them off screen into berial edge the whole way down.

not sure if grounded DP rc would be high enough though

Yeah, I don't really know frame data that well or how to read it properly. I just know when I have frame advantage and when I don't. :V

are you guys sure blockstun isnt static crouching/standing? and Yeah, level 3 moves have 16f of blockstun, so 5B 214D and 2C 214D will have the same frame gap. 5C 214D, 5D(1) 214D, 6C 2147D, 3C 214D All have smaller gaps (by 2f)

If you REALLY want dead spike, 5D(2) Is level 5, 20f blockstun. The pushback generally forces optimal spacing to tag people while they try to jump out with dead spike's triangular hitbox, so with 28f startup on dead spike, you have an 8f gap without IB/Barrier differences.

if your opponent is watching for high/low/throw, you can generally get a dead spike in at close range. Ragna is not /really/ a free "lmao ill do whatever" (sorry alan) character, he has the options but you have to be able to know what to do, when to do it and not get read like a fucking book

Well usually for easy confirms I just do like 623c RC (I BUFFER THAT SHIT SON LEARN THAT ITS MORE IMPORTANT) 5d(2) dash 6a SJC jc jd DJ jc j214c land A) if near corner 5d 623c~236c~214d or B) 214a~214d

If you want to do the STOLEN STRAIGHT FROM THE WORLDCHAMP shit you do like 623c RC dash a bit 6c(2) dash 5d dash 6a SJC jc 214c dash 5d(2) 623c~236c~214d (shit carries from corner to corner so just fucking do it)

Also learn the corner DP CH shit jiyuna does, it's like 623c(3) land 5a 5b 5d(1) 214d 5c SJC jc j214c land 5d(2) 623c~236c~236c and then you can either do the dash 3c 22c or let them hit the ground and do Etech shenanigans (like 2a crossunder)

The reason why i dont like the 6C followup is because its extremely spacing dependent and character specific, for like 100 more damage. Where your DP hits is really important too, and sometimes you just cant get it. But i mean, if you recognize the situations in whichyou can, go for it i guess. The combo is 623C RC 6C(2) DC 6B 2C 5C 5D DC 5C 6A HJ jD jD 623D~236C~214D

that's cool, now I can do real combos while I troll... but that kinda detracts from the trolling part. I mean yeah, the combos are nice SKD, I'll probably end up using them. Those are just like, the combos I've been doing since CS1, dead ass (save for the corner CH one that doesn't require an RC, thanks for clearing up the inputs I knew there were some I was missing). As a matter of fact the first one if you did in CS1 let you do double BE combo lol.
