Spiteful Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Sorry if there was already a thread for this or if it's somewhere in the Litchi stickies, but I couldn't find it anywhere. So when I play Litchi, every now and then I will do 2 particular moves that I have no idea how I did them. one is like a back dash, but she does a back flip similar to her air back dash, but this starts entirely from being on the ground. The other move I don't understand how I do it, is I am in straight through stance, and suddenly the staff flies at the opponent as if it was placed on the ground. I go directly from straight through stance to having the staff fly at the opponent. No idea how I do it, so I'm wondering if she has some kind of hidden moves, or could these be glitches? Thanks! :keke:
stinkymonz Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 1. That's her command backdash, just press 7 as she recovers from her backdash. She can also airdash forward during (after?) her flip. 2. If you let Straight Through recover without cancelling or pressing a followup button, there's a small window where her staff is considered returning to her. So if you press D during this window it'll be as if you released a set staff.
Nakkiel Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 2. If you let Straight Through recover without cancelling or pressing a followup button, there's a small window where her staff is considered returning to her. So if you press D during this window it'll be as if you released a set staff. While this is true for a blocked Itsuu, he should also know that whenever an Itsuu actually connects with the opponent the staff is considered "set" (even though it's flipping around the screen if you do nothing) as soon as Litchi recovers.
stinkymonz Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 He said "I am in straight through stance, and suddenly the staff flies at the opponent as if it was placed on the ground". So, connected Itsuu isn't even in the picture, I think.
Poizonous Flour Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Yeah, this one definitely needs a solid reply. 1) Is already covered. Command backdash. 2) That move has existed since BBCT folks. There is a small window after the basic Ittsuu (no A/B/C followup) where the staff is considered in Manten return state. That means that you can do more than just fling the staff at that window. - D: Flings the staff at the last staff set direction - 623D: You can also do Genbu from that stance - 41236D: And you can do ShiShin from it. Follows the last staff set direction. Truthfully, it is a gimmick with the staff that really was overlooked. It has no real uses except probably a surprise hit when someone tries to rush you while doing pure straight. Since we can cancel Pure Straight, there is ultimately no point for the gimmick... but that is just my opinion. PzF...
Lord Knight Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 They were hidden. . . when CT came out Itsuu has Manten return state, look it up in the guides. Questions like this belong in the beginner thread or general discussion, thread closed.
