San Diego's thread of meetups every Friday Night at SD Saltmines

School just started for me, and I haven't been to the Salt Mines and won't be able to go because I have a night class on Mondays. Fridays are free for me and Shtkn's place is a half hour walk from my house, so I guess I have no excuse but to go and play some games.

So I have come up with a plan.

I'm gonna come down this week again, and from then onward I will show up at the Friday meetups every other week. Additionally, I'm going to try bringing people with me. I've talked to Stay Free already and he said he was interested.

So what I'm thinking I'm gonna do is, offer a ride to anyone who is in the Tustin/Irvine area or southward. I think there are a few people who are on the way there who I could grab on the way. The catch is, since I have no job right now and am not independently wealthy, I will have to hit up the people who come for gas money. It takes me half a tank to go to San Diego and back from where I am, and a full tank works out to $45. So half of that works out to 22 bucks plus some change, and this would be split between myself and whoever I am picking up. When I get a job I'll be able to pay for my own damn gas as much as I want, so I'll probably offer rides for free, but until then I'm gonna have to harass people for gas money.

The other catch is that whoever I take with me will have to be prepared to leave at 11PM. Since I'm living with my parents at the moment, I can't stay out till 3 in the morning like we used to. When I get a job and move out, that will also change.

Let me know what any of you guys on the road to SD think about this.

Are the guys you're grabbing mainly coming for P4A or BB? I haven't been going recently because I think we're still mostly doing P4A, but I might go if you show up with guys that want to play~

Since you guys are all coming from Irvine area and taking the 5freeway meetup switch can be made to my place. Oceanside will cut your drive time by a lot. Then we can add DS/Ken/Purrin to the mix. But the SD people would need to come up here. Just a thought.....

That sounds pretty great. Though one concern would be that the Chula Vista people probably wouldn't be able to make it if that happens, since I doubt they'd want to drive that far.

If that happens, where will I get my Street Fighter x Tekken fix?

Honestly, since I'm at school @ SDSU until like 4:30 - 5 pm on Fridays, I don't think I'll have problems driving to Spidey's place in Oceanside since driving straight from school basically cuts my driving time down by at least 20 minutes (hopefully more ). But hey, if I can drive 2 hours just to get P4A early, then driving anywhere around LA should be cake to me by now, let alone faraway places in San Diego.

If we can carpool after driving up to shtkn's then I think that'd be no problem. I'll ask my friends about it when I get the chance.

But yea, from my house to Oceanside is about 50 miles, which is about the same distance from Tustin to Oceanside.

last time there was one bb setup and i think two or three p4 setups, so if you're only interested in bb, i'm pretty sure you'll be able to find ppl to play. i'll play at least a few just so i don't forget everything haha.

Oceanside is around 40 minutes for me, which is a liiiittle far, but I guess I might go depending on our numbers and how tired I'm feeling (but mostly numbers).
