GuerrillaTactic Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 but getting the timing for the backdash on wake up on the record is really hard especially if you have to press sweep and play at the same time so that Pot back dashes on wake up properly, or should I just mash back dash and hope for the best? Do I record a back dash straight away and press play as Pot wakes up to try and get it on wake up? It just seems hard to get him to do it consistently so that I can practice consistently.
AtTheGates Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 the best way to program enemy wakeup behavior in my experience is to start programming the frame your knockdown move hits him, in this example chipp's 2d. then everytime you knock him down with 2d (from the same range), activate the playback button (hopefully at the same frame where you started recording).
reaVer Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 What I do when practicing is programming my character to do the predefined move pattern and then be the "opponent" and try my escapes.
GuerrillaTactic Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 but if you do it that way, you try it once and then you practice the escape. This works for seeing if something works once or is air tight but once you find the technique that is air tight, then you don't really get to practice the technique, just the escape method. I suppose I can use that method to find what's best for me in said situation.
