The smash guys are pretty angry that the place was full when we knew that they were coming. Anyways, they only come every 2 weeks, and alternate between Tuesday and Thursday, so this shouldn't be a problem most of the time. There will be 5 TVs every other day.

I suppose BB supports 720p? If the TV's native is 720p as well, there shouldn't be any lag when playing with HDMI because it won't have to convert anything. If we're playing with composite cable, then the TV has to upscale from 480i, which is the worst situation you can possibly have, so of course that'll lag. Basically, as long as it doesn't have to convert from interlaced to progressive scan, it shouldn't make much of a difference input lag-wise. My own LCD is 1080p native, when I try to play Brawl on it in 480i, it gets an annoying input lag, but as soon as I switch to the component cables and go 480p, it suddenly becomes playable even though it needs to upscale through the roof. I can see that both sides are angry, but I don't see why we should have to move. We had two setups for BB/GG. They had two setups for Brawl/Melee. The last setup was used by those playing marvel. As much as we knew that they were coming, they also knew we had a meetup, and as much as we also meetup on other days, Thursday is the most important one, which is why we do weekly tournaments on Thursdays. The last HQ meetup was over a month ago, and we've been going to Foonzo since then. Why didn't they just chose to have their meetup on a different day, like Wednesday? Foonzo doesn't belong to either community. If we said "no meetup today guys" people having probably planned going there will be like "I have nothing else planned, so I might as well go anyways" and suddenly... meetup! If possible, we should check with the owner if they could synch a controller to a marvel head-to-head, so it would clear up at least one setup, and hopefully they'll get their 6th TV repaired/replaced soon. Last night, the head-to-heads were barely used (almost no queue) compared to the TVs (3+ people queue, each), so it might be in their interest to get more. I actually thought that it would be ok to have only about 2 stations for each game, but attendance was bigger than usual, so either one of our communities has to change their meetup day. I don't think it's going to be us, because people got used to Thursdays, we've been having Thursday meetups since... January or December? I can't remember. But then again classes are starting again, so maybe another day will be more convenient for our big meetups. I hope our communities won't hate each other from now on tldr : accommodements raisonnables. Also, I'll go to foonzo this Sunday. If anyone's up for carpooling or helping me out with parking, let me know. I get to MTL on highway 40W. Only Vice-Taicho and Kr3wman would be on your way I think. By the way, I don't think many of us would be able to help you with your Xbox problem. Nini and Blade don't have live any more, I lent my Xbox to brice, so maybe you could catch him before he goes to work... If not there's Steb and Dai Loli who might have Live, but not sure.
Bibiquadium Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 If you carpool at my place, it's 3$ to go and 3$ to come back (Bus/Metro) and the night bus is a one way to my home as well so the hour you leave doesn't matter.
