LiveWireX Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Damn, yeah. I'd heard a couple of things from Reyntime on it, but I didn't think it was straight up, well...that.
ReynTime180 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Even I didn't think it was that bad. Foonzo is kill
Scrubtrash Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 That's too bad as if meetups were still at Foonzo i know i could totally go there. : ( EDIT: lol fake
khmxspider Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 That's too bad as if meetups were still at Foonzo i know i could totally go there. : ( Â Also we are all free now http://shoryuken.com/2014/11/09/surprise-ten-year-old-competitor-dominates-at-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u-preview-event/ "Confirmed Fake"
Scrubtrash Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 "Confirmed Fake" Â Yeah that appeared a while after i posted it. Â Welp.
DerQ Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I don't even know if it's "That bad" or if we would find it worse than when we stopped going, the same or better. Â w/e Things are going nicely anyway
Daisy-Fan Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Thinking to skip getting smash 4 on wii u this month, probably during xmas after all.
Rikir Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Uhhhhh so if you dont mind me asking. What happened with Foonzo exactly?
LeDom Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Uhhhhh so if you dont mind me asking. What happened with Foonzo exactly? Â To stay afloat and continue making money, they had to appeal to wider audience. Thus, they concluded that they needed to take away the FGC's privileges.
DerQ Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Foonzo has more or less always made decisions that had downsides for some other benefit. Something like removing bubble tea because it was super long for waiters to prpduce one, thus decreasing service quality. Maybe not quite exactly that, but the gist of things The way I see it, a bunch of decisions like that were made and to some extent we could cope with it. They changed the menu, some didn't want to buy from the new one on a regular basis. They moved the setups a bit around and we lost one or two setups at times. Some wanted more setups. They upped the prices before we stopped going, it was harder for those with lower income to purchase every week. They told us to stop coming thursdays and come on tuesday or we would have to buy every hour-ish. We were on thursdays for a long ass time. They changed the custom cabs, the new ones were not made for sustained playtime without your back hurting. Etc etc Every decision had some benefit for foonzo and what we had to cope with wasn't too bad for the group at first. But it eventually became alienating to keep the desire to give money to the place for what the place was slowly becoming for us as a community. We have obviously different needs and some of us claimed that even early 2014. Now it's just hard/impossible to deny it Add to this what rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, they alienated some of the staff members that were in some fashion there since the beginning either as an employee or a customer. Reduced hours, he-she said talking behind backs high school drama that ended up having 3 employees that were into FGs quit or get fired. Yeah, I think that's as fair as I can present according to what I know and perceive
DerQ Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 It depends. Bit of an analogy to make my point come accross. Fast foods provide cheap chairs to sit on because they want you to get up and leave. It's not comfortable sitting there for an extended period. With an expectation on your clients to purchase near every hour or leave. The cabs would do just that. They do not make that much money on a SF player that buys once / evening. Why cater to what benefits him? Once again, I can see there's a need behind that decision, but to us it's straight up alienation
Linear04 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 rip in pepperoni, i remember along time ago u guys were really shocked that they were introducing cabs, feels like theres a huge lack of communication or agreement from what i read from that post. either way ripipripripriprip  where are u gus gonna play now?
DerQ Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Lack of communication? They're a biz, we're a part of their consumer base. This is purely on me, but I doubt we were a strong source of revenue compared to the whole income. Could go into it, but this has been dragging We've been playing at Brice's and Pedro's appartment for ... 3 months now? Hence why it feels repetitive to go through it again.
pochp Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Weekly news post  1. Trois-Riviere expedition at Nedel's  I believe the plan was me, Brice, Bibi, Airmaster, and maybe Kirbster. Can you guys confirm your attendance? Jon, can we use your car to get there? If not we can always use my parents', but it means we need to get to St-Bruno first, which is around 2h by bus from my place. Plan is to get there around noon on Saturday, then leave not too late after supper, since Air has to work and I'm going to a friend's housewarming party.   2. New game comes out this week : Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax  I don't know who else is, but I'm getting it. I think it'll be out by Thursday, so I was thinking of hosting an additional meetup this week, if people want to come try mashing in this game or something, on Thursday. 6:30pm at the earliest, I'll also ask ppl to leave around 11pm, since I work Friday. (If people want to play other games that's def possible too I mean I'll only have one station for dfc) Anyway, let me know if you're interested in coming, since it's on a day we don't usually host (rip), I'd just like to have an idea.   3. Weekly Friday Meetup  Back to the normal schedule, there should be a meetup again this Friday. Would be nice if we could get 2 additional ps3s, so BB,GG,Uniel, and DFC can all get some play time. Get some practice for the Ottawa tournament next week :o
DerQ Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Just for you Kazu, she was the main character in... What do kids call it these days? Boku no cross ange?
AirMaster Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 You won't have to punch anyone because no one will play such a shit character.
Icekin Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 I'll be there Friday, I can bring my PS3 as well.
pochp Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Oh yeah, about the Ottawa tournament, it looks like there's a spreadsheet to help them get an idea of who's going (not a pre-reg in any way). If you're going and have a free minute... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D44kiHWUKmM2aXb6lAigtntUontgWN6wZhXHIDYQVxU/edit#gid=0
Sinon bah ca couvrera le souper, I guess?
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 I recently heard Foonzo doesn't have much people inside as of late...
