pochp Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 IMO, the big disadvantage I had going with almost strictly offline experience is that playing almost exclusively the same players, I wasn't used to adapting to different styles of play. I think most of us concordia students and when our exams start I think it might conflict. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody. Guess I'll just netplay more now, instead of spending time in training mode. I still have a lot of improvement to do. This is exactly what happens to me against Rameo, random shit and inexperience get blown up 0-2. And rameo loves netplay dodging. Blade, only me and steb got some games on Justin.tv, I played against a noel and bang, and steb played against a noel and bang. Damn I guess I'll start trying to catch streams from now on:( But daaaaamn why am I so shy/reserved, I would have loved to meet more people, play more casuals =/ I'm going to socially break you and ken in half:) Repping MTL well, means going 0-2 and 2-2? You're probably the best MTL rep then. They said they did pretty solid in casuals. That's what I was referring to, stay free. in case anyone was wondering, here's what the total costs for the trip were (approx), divided by 4 for the costs we split up. room for 2 nights : 300/4 = 75$ gas total : 120/4 = 30$ highway toll : 20/4 = 5$ (lol missed a booth, gonna get fined by mail or something) venue fee : 25$ mcdonalds after the border : 8$ pizza : 8$ dunkin doughnuts : 7$ pizza : 7$ dunkin doughnuts : 7$ pizza : 8$ subtotal : 180$ entry for BB and AH3 singles: 10x2 = 20$ grand total : 200$ If those were the costs I'm traveling more then to tournaments. I didn't get to play any games the majority of the time. I only played about 45 minutes worth of casuals the entire weekend. It was worth it though, I just wanted everything to run smoothly so people can keep coming out to the events. I know how you feel biscuits. Damn, sounds like you guys had a good time. Don't feel too bad about SKD beating you guys, I know for a fact that this guy's a prodigy or something. Anyway, NEC... sounds good, actually. It's in December so Uni should be out and there's free time there. It's also far enough that I don't have any excuse to not know my Valk shit by then. Hype indeed! but on the subject of netplayers, don't forget omnisscythe (wasn't there but you know what I mean) and I think wolfkrone(not 100% sure he learned through netplay, but he definitely was there and won AE). So yeah, gonna netplay more now, I think it works and the lack of matchup exp was killing me.. I think that's the case with all of us. Netplay can up your overall game and ways that a less than gdlk offline community can't (like ours). I've just been too busy but I plan on investing more into netplay with time. Trying to do so before my xbl expires at the end of august though. Speaking of which, more of us are on xbl to set up rooms. Steb and Pedro, get hype. It's okay, I failed as MTL's other Hazama as well or Pedro would have known the matchup better. You technically do't apply because; A)You only started playing him in the last month or two of cs2's life, if I remember correctly. B)This is cs2 not cs1 anyways, so the match up is different somehow someway for him than it was in cs1. Online is great for getting blown the fuck up because you swear you blocked that overhead or broke that grab. A strong offline scene is much better for general and match up exp, online is good for getting used to dealing with multiple playstyles and levels of skill, the former is only really viable if they are actually good players. Had a bunch of matches with Shahied in marvel since he doesn't even touch BB (but is in denial about it). I am amazed at the minimal skill that can be used by wesker players to win. He's a walking flowchart, if kr3wman doesn't make one for him I will. Although it ended with a 50-50 win ratio, a good portion of his wins consisted fo minimally skilled wesker combos from a gunshot otg xfc (on any level), coupled with morrigans dumb crouching rapid jabbing, which kills caps crossup. Tired of running the avengers, will probably switch up the avengers roster, and put in either hulk or Logan. Only an avenger. Been thinking Logan for the most part because he'll probably be easier to play than the hulk without being easily figured out.

That way when your opponents puts all his effort and ressources into dealing with logan and jean, you can make epic comebacks with iron avenger... all according to keikaku. NEC looks like the first weekend of december, so it's more like just before finals. At least I hope. Rhannmah has some pretty godlike videos there, I hope you check them all out. Brice's video should just encourage him to stop ragebursting like he always does so he can land some of these combos in matches.
