Tager has a jump cancelable level 2 poke...all sorts of wrong will be used here man. I...I don't know what they are doing but I am gonna try to shrug it off and take it. @ Osmond: You don't understand...you just don't. They are changing our 5A and we don't even know what this can do to us.

I don't know if someone here like the j.B > 6B mixup like I do but hell, it's so effective (or maybe I just like that 6B too much...) Why would we have to forget using 5A for a VTC>720 tick??? +4 on it makes it great for that now. Means people will be less willing to try and do anything about how plus his normals are. They're gonna have a hard time trying to find spots to jump out with Air Unbloackable 5B>5C now comboing which means the upback strategy is out the window as there are so many things that can punish it and reset them into it again. Shit just go 5A>Walk>5B and you'll probably catch them jumping. This in turn also makes 6A>RC way better for pressure. 6A>RC>5A>5A>2A>2B whiff>360 or 6A>RC>5A>5A>Wait>5B to catch a jump is gonna be really strong. Thanks for the answer. Osmond Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I think it is too soon to be getting depressed about this...that is the thing we DON'T know how this will effect us and really won't until the patch is released and the players take time to understand the changes in depth. Loketests can only go so far in telling us what is going on with our characters, they aren't 100% accurate and they aren't finalized either.I admit the changes are bit weird...but is there any wonder Dacid has to come in here and scold us? When Arsys gives us lemons we should shove them down their throats

Osuna Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 5A walk 5B, even assuming +4, wouldn't catch a jump except MAYBE from Tager and no speed nerf to 5B, which I think is generous. Given at least 1 frame of walking gives the opponent at least 7 frames which is plenty of time to clear jump start up and 5B's anti air hitbox is more than a little comical. 5A needs a proration buff before I could possibly care about it being an new antijump option.

I think he'd be a bit more balanced if they did this: -Buffed the pull on his 5D to its CS1 counterpart -Buffed the pull on 4D slightly -Gave 6A the super armor it needs (Super armor on startup as well) -Gave Atomic Collider more damage, similar to how it was in CS1 -Slight damage increase in combos, or maybe less proration for certain moves, idk. If this stuff was added to his CS2 self then he'd be a lot better, imo

Basically, they don't bounce away from the 720, and Tager doesn't get up from his pose and makes his win comment there. While we're here, anyone noticed that that little bounce players do after being 720'd looks really weird if you watch it and try to make sense of it.

When it comes down to it All of his grapples look weird when you look closely because they involve dynamic movement which they never wanted to sprite for all the characters because they were hoping no one would pay attention to it. I mean his Astral is just plain silly if you look at the way he holds his opponents. But yeah the bounce is funny too Random thought, do you think Tager actually has eyes or are those specs almost completely-fused to sides of his head and he has more robohancements there instead?
Manta Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 There's what you said, but the 720 bounce is really that the animation sprite says that your opponent ought to be where he is, but the designers don't want Tager to be so close to a recently 720'd opponent. His astral looks the silliest on Rachel of course "Hmph, Looks like I'm about to meet oblivion, how inconvienient". Potemkin has flaming hands to cover up the contact points during his potemkin buster. He needs to adjust his glasses, guessing they can fall off and that there's eyes behind them (Tiny tiny eyes). Even if they don't fall off during MTW or other such fast moving moves. Rule of cool of course, otherwise we'd in theory have the highest superjump of all the cast.

For 6A, still approximatively 18F for the super armor effect or is there any feeling it comes faster/slower? What about the pull effect reduced? No other changes on 5D ? (which I think should be modified for re-mag options).

But well, still not usable as a reversal I think. Once people will get used to the timing it'll be back as it is now. Specially since lower go through it. Honestly don't know why people even use 5D > 236B. Even saw a guy bluebeating into Bsledge at that tournament from 5D and 6C during combos, made me die a little inside. I also caught him practicing purple throws in training mode, saying that it's good to use them if you're unpredictable, only the only time I saw him use them was after spark bolt. Purple grabs are good not to be unpredictable but when you sniff mash, the point is to throw it out when you think your opponent is trying to reversal. He will input the reversal during the time he should break the grab, Far as I know it will work as long as they expect a 360 and want to mash a escape option or button. Unfortunately you can't utilize it in high level play...well it will work maybe 1/100?

He did it every spark bolt because he didn't respect a human opponent's pattern spotting ability, which is really quite good. Also, Offline, purple grabs aren't legit at all.
