Papstr Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Double Post of Release Dates Both Under-Night and P4: Ultimate Mayonnaise have Q2 2012 Japanese releases. KOF is 22nd, two days before Thanksgiving. stay tuned for house party. Anyone know of any other games launching, not necessarily fighting, that we could potentially run? Don't forget November 13th is KO's birthday party and is going to be awesome full of video games, Munchkin(a hilarious card game involving screwing everyone else over), and good food and shenanigans. Who's coming? ARMORED CORE 5!! I'd like to come to KO's party, but it really lies on if Jackie wants/can go, seeing as how hes basically my transportation in this blasted city.
Astaroth136 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 NEWS FOR THOSE THAT DON'T GO TO SRK!!!!! Jason is holding an UMvC3 tournament on November 19th, Saturday, at 12:00p.m. This is only several days after Ultimate's release. Third Strike and AE are also being played. Naimat and Chandler, you guys better make it to this.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I heard US wasn't getting Under-Night.
Astaroth136 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Star, are you going to try to get into Ultimate? A combo-lover like you should really like the game. This version is less derpy too.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I am actually. You guys will see me online on first day release ^_^

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make either of these. I've said it before and I'll say it again- it's hard for me to make it up once a month as it is. More of a "parents" thing than it is money, but money's a factor as well. On the bright side, all MTNBB12's videos are uploaded as of this morning. :D
Astaroth136 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Awesome job on the editing/uploading, Chandler.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Indeed Chan, take a nice vacation. The war has been won *salutes*
Seiki Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Everyone plays differently Star. Why are you going to assume a player's playstyle before you even play him or her? The reason why top players consistently place high is because they treat each player they face individually. I remember in an interview Daigo talked about this very thing. You shouldn't generalize people especially in something where everyone is given lots of options. It's a scrub mentality to think "this is what makes a top player" because there are a variety of playstyles that are effective that might not fit your criteria. I'll just leave this at that.
LastStarSaviour Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) I will admit i'm narrow-minded in that aspect. I find it easier for myself to play against someone who i've categorised as a good or bad player so to speak. It may sound mean or whatever but it helps me assess many situations and helps me figure out player thought patterns and the steps I need to take in a match in general. Again, call me whatever name you want to call it but that's just how I process things. And last I checked I was a scrub with dignity. Edited November 6, 2011 by LastStarSaviour
Grimstar Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) Armored Core 5 is noted and considered. FUCKIN YEEEAAAAHHH Only issue is trying to get everyone's AC setup on one game... hmm I will admit i'm narrow-minded in that aspect. That's kind of a defeatist attitude if ya ask me. I try not to think "oh man, this guys much better than me" I just think "ok, this guys good. I'll have to be more patient to figure out what to do vs them and/or I'll have to do better at mixing up my approach to this fight" Edited November 6, 2011 by Grimstar
Milln Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Honestly, if we do Armored Core, we're going to need a bigger venue so we can system link.
Astaroth136 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Come on guys. Armored Core would take way too long and is too much of a hassle. Why are we even considering this? Besides, Milln had said in the past that he researched it and said it wasn't worth it.
Jackie Chandler Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Armored Core seems like a really fun, fast-paced game to me. I don't know hardly anything about it though, especially not how it would run at a tournament scene.
Astaroth136 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I just don't know why it's even being considered. Running Smash and BB took all day last time. We're going to be adding Ultimate and possibly KoF, so why are we discussing a game that very few people have played and are interested in? You guys could have AC gatherings at someone's house though. That would be more feasible.
Milln Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 (edited) Cause we're open to possibilities! That being said, I stand by and further clarify my remark the we will need a bigger venue to run AC, and it will -not- be run until we grow large enough to warrant it(which honestly is soon if we keep getting twenty-some turnouts and forced to run on 3 tv's.) yes, AC in the past wasn't worth it because we would need to decide what rule set to play on and what restrictions were "fair". With the new Ac5 coming out, it's possible that we can come up with something workable and fast. The small number of setups was not my fault and was not something I knew about until I arrived. I had at least five setups ready until I got there and Richard was like "hey, uhhhh... We had more machines than I thought we did." Edited November 6, 2011 by Milln
LastStarSaviour Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Smash, BB, UmvC3, Skullgirls (I think this is still being put into the line-up upon release), KoF13 (I really hope so), Under-Night (we may not get this in America) = Holy shit, we can control time now?
Astaroth136 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Have you tried talking to Jason to see if we could have room for at least five setups? Moving to a different venue only takes money out of his pocket, so I assume he'd comply.

Moving to a different venue only takes money out of his pocket, so I assume he'd comply.I'm actually already up here doing just that(actually right now I'm eating, but you know) @time constraints: I'm confident that I can keep this under our schedule limitations no matter how many games we add, and you guys should have confidence in me. I don't plan on taking on more than four games at a time and will not be running mystery game tournaments, to my regret. Keep in mind, not every game will be successful and will therefore be dropped.
Milln Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Wahahahaha bigger venue indeed! For January we can either: Hold tournaments inside the Game Galaxy at a mere 5 dollar venue fee an it is actually a surprising amount of room, especially with the giant tv Jason got recently. OR Have access to the same room we were in for MWC at the 10 dollar venue fee mark. Yeah. The only drawback is that I have to have a GUARANTEE of at least ten players or it starts coming outta my pocket(as if it already isn't, but I don't like to make that known) and some other things that I have to do in advance, that only concern me. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. If you want pictures of inside the GG I can provide in a few hours. KO and I live in Murfreesboro. Pm for address info
Astaroth136 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 We've only hit below the 10-person mark once, and even then, it was like 8 or 9. I wouldn't fret too much on that. The GIANT tv in the arcade is awesome. Playing a tournament match on that beast is hype.
