LuminAbyss Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 So guys, I'm officially the Jesus of EX Kyo. Blak and I were playing, his team being Athena/Yuri/Kula and my team being Terry/EX Kyo/Ryo. Anyway, my Terry took out his Athena, then his Yuri took out my Terry. Then I took out his Yuri with EX Kyo. So it came down to Kula vs EX Kyo. He managed to knock me down. I had 4 stock. He jumped in, and I DPed out. I ran after him, and as soon as he woke up, did EX DP. It worked. I ran up to him again, and did EX DP. It worked. Then I ran up to him one last time. This time he tried to beat my DP with his superior DP. But right as I got to him, and he JUST DPed, I did EX Orochinagi, went through the DP, and killed Kula. Based godlike happened tonight. True story.

Chandler, some of the UMvC3 matches are labelled wrong. Me vs ActionHank is grand finals, not losers finals. Losers finals, which isn't uploaded, would be me vs Neon Geon. WHAT THE FUCK YOUTUBE. I may have mislabeled those two, but I definitely set the rest of the matches to upload. I don't know what happened.

The only one missing is the losers finals. Then, just rename the grand finals one and it's all good.

In fact, it actually reminds me of something I've been wondering for a while now. Can someone be K.O.'d in BB by Ragna's Soul Eater? What about if they're Barrier Blocking? I've never seen it happen, but it's not impossible, I suppose.

Losing to a throw you teched is as hilarious as tripping in Brawl. Amusing maybe the first or second time. Rage inducing every time after that. And F random "Clean Hits". Random chance to critical is a good idea, guys. I've got it trigger on everything; barely touching, hitting deep, throws, whiffing... I -really- want to like this game, but my Soul Calibur 2 'heritage' is wearing. Heck, my competitive gamer mindset is wearing.

I put up with that shit already with Gangplank Parrrleys. I was kinda considering getting SC5, but if it sounds this dumb then derp. Regarding throw techs, I believe Super Turbo makes you take damage when you tech. Just like, reduced. I might be wrong.

Throws are slow and easy to break (hold guard and mash A/B lol), and going for them is a big risk. As for clean hits, I thought they were random crits too, but they don't make much difference. We're talking 10-13 more damage usually. That's pretty small.
Seiki Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I wouldn't compare throw teching in SC to tripping in brawl. Tripping is purely random. Throwing isn't. And honestly in a game where everyone has a weapon of some kind. It's kind of hard to stick your arm out without it getting chopped off...so throws need to be rewarding in some way. I heard Ezio gets lots of clean hits from one of his moves. Don't remember. Btw, is Ezio banned from tourney play?
