You should see the league/sc2 communities. the FGC is nowhere near as bad in comparison. In relation to character choices/playstyles, it's just easier for a newer player to feel confident about what they are doing if they know it can/has been done. Piggybacking on pro's decisions is the fastest way to do that. Sometimes they are annoyingly vocal about it; I got shit talked for the longest time playing Urgot in league because of his bad reputation and non-existent tournament usage. Then a popular team used him in a big Tourney and won, and poof everyone used him.

Point being it's just a natural aspect of any popular competitive game (sport, or even other industries) to prioritize and highlight the best known players of said game. You just have to accept it, take the majority's opinion with a grain of salt and move on. I'm just surprised that this argument arose from a couple of simple comments. The discussion has totally strayed from the initial topic.

That's the MTNG Monthly Vs. Tourneys thread for you. This always happens and we drop the subject two days later max, and then something silly happens. From there, it's sensible conversation until it happens again. It's a stable loop that never incurs much hard feelings.

All he needs is a low profiling slide and he'll be godlike. If anyone has a nico account, I'd love you forever if you uploaded UNiB footage for me. No one else seems to want to cover it.

I don't think I can wait for King of Bling. . . I wanna face Tad fresh this time. It was the craziest way I've ever seen anyone play him, and no other Kanji has been able to scratch that itch. I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU, NO HOMO BRO. Also gotta get my runback on Chandler. Either way, Persona better be hype come October. I'm fuckin' hungry.

I should hopefully get my internet back up tomorrow, and I'm crossing my fingers for my PS3's resurrection to be successful. If so, we should play some games soon Jackie.

I've stockpiled quite a bit of schoolwork playing p4a, so I can't. :(

Would like an opportunity to play you sometime though. You play Shadow Labyrs right? maybe you can give me a few pointers for Slab. :D I'm not so good yet, so I'm not sure if it'd be mutual beneficial, but at the very least Slab mirrors seem to be rather fun.

On a somewhat related note, who here plays P4A on PSN? Would be nice to get some matches in with a decent connection. Mostly available Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Also, Just watched GF's for Jackie-Hand vs Chocolate-Starfish.

You guys need to have better setups for baiting furious actions. You gotta do it in a way that doesn't lose the momentum of your offense. Versus Yu & Mitsu specifically, I prefer safe jumps or crossing the Y-axis. Much more effective than running up & crouching on opponents wake-up(About this BTW, when you HAVE to do this, be sure to quickly go back to an offense if opponent DIDN'T DP). Here's a great cross-up setup: As Yu, start a run, than 8-Jump and J.A+C on Mitsu's wake-up. Always tap "4~B" as soon as she gets up. If she did the Furious, you get the IB and a FAT CH Punish, If she doesn't, you still get cross-up overhead & further mixups w/ the landing frame advantage. never jump infront of Mistu to bait furious b/c Bufodyine is air UB. Lastly, you have to punish her in the AIR. Like Vampire :3

Vs Yu, Safe-Jumps & disjointed hitboxes are amazing for wrecking his upper. Even on the punish you need to rely on disjointed boxes. So, I believe 2B is your best go-to.

@ 56 secs you do a poor job about punishing this DP. If he had 50-meter, you bet the super cancel would have CH your 5A.

Condition yourself to always punish w/ a 2B as early as possibly. The moves vulnerable hitbox is soo low, that IF he super cancels, you will not get hit & than can easily FCH punish his whiffed super. If you 2B does hit, it's CH and you go into your typical BnB punish.

I only critique b/c I like you guys. :D
