Jackie Chandler Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It's not neutral if you're blocking a fullscreen pressure string. Hold on, when did we start talking about Marvel?
Klein Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hold on, when did we start talking about Marvel? When UNiB gave Yuzuriha Magneto's horizontal slash normal c;
Kyle Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Stop being bitches and play P4/GG for lyfe!!!!!!!!!!!
LastStarSaviour Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) Nobody in the game has full-screen blockstrings unless you're seeing something i'm not. Everyone has a few full-screen normals that make them able to play neutral well (outside of Orie, Seth, and Linne. Who make up for that with their fast movement speed and normals). Yuzuriha Iai strikes do have long range full-screen, but from what I saw her hurt-boxes are really noticeable at close-range besides her A version. @Kyle: My feelings about P4 are dying and I WANT UNDER-NIGHT!! M.i.E. Dax Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I don't know dick about UNiB but if it comes out on consoles I'll play it for that Seth dude.
Tophatmoffet Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) Yeah this game is starting to give me the heebie jeebies. It's not neutral if you're blocking a fullscreen pressure string. Edit: I like long normals, but UNIB just looks like too much of a good thing. I don't know about full screen pressure but there's definitely full screen normal game/zoning. e.g. gordeau, yuzuriha, walendstein; also generally huge normals like hyde, orie, and even linne with her rekkas(?) and wind blasts, though these are generally not as offensive. I know yuzuriha has (very literally) a full screen special move that wall-bounces on CH for like 3k. This along with a lot of other specials/normals destroys the very idea of a neutral game, taking all the effort out of getting in and making openings, instead allowing for stupid nonsense and mindless play. I may be jumping the gun on this one, but everything I'm starting to see about this game is chopping at my hype tree. Especially that linne meter infinite and that vastia "200%" combo. Stop being bitches and play P4/GG for lyfe!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm glad guilty gear exists, because its amazing, it really is. But its really the only anime game to actually stand the test of time and maintain a player base, and that's sad. I wish there were more like it. Edited September 25, 2012 by Tophatmoffet
LastStarSaviour Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) @Tophet: Wouldn't this be the exact opposite? If someone has very good, long-ranged normals, wouldn't that force you to play the neutral game properly as apposed to throwing out random stuff full-screen with no punishment? If most characters didn't have the full-screen normals, wouldn't characters like Seth, who can throw an orb to cover his dash-in and get in for free stomp everyone else? Plus, wouldn't that make getting in and pressuring people and opening them up twice as satisfying? Especially since most characters in the game have the ability to keep solid pressure and apply decent mix-ups. I'm so confused. The 200 percent combos and stuff is a bit silly, but there's always room for patching where needed, other than that, I don't see much wrong with the game. Edited September 25, 2012 by LastStarSaviour
Tophatmoffet Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 @Tophet: Wouldn't this be the exact opposite? If someone has very good, long-ranged normals, wouldn't that force you to play the neutral game properly as apposed to throwing out random stuff full-screen with no punishment? Eh? I'm a bit confused. I'm not saying its a free win for scrubs, I'm saying, as a tool, its too strong for players who can use it to its full potential. Like if that one monster guy has a fullscreen normal that he can hitconfirm into 4k, thats not exactly something to build his game around, but its a tool for him to use that could possibly be unfair to those without. I'm not saying everyone should have that, I'm saying it should be balanced around the rest of the game. I'm not saying anything is stupid or imbalanced, or at least that's not the point I'm trying to make. I'm gonna reserve any more judgement on this game for a few weeks to see if I can educate myself further on what I dont like about it.
LastStarSaviour Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I thought the only in-game tool that could even be considered too strong is one that completely breaks a game A.K.A. something like unblockable moves that set up ridiculous damage, etc. The normals all seem well within reactable scope and they do have flaws. Like I mentioned, while Yuzuriha does have really long-ranged Iai strikes, her B and C versions to be exact, they both leave her hurtbox vulnerable close-range. Honestly, the only thing I can find annoying about her is her elbow drop, that move destroys worlds. Still, I feel like every character has tools that, if played at their full potential, would be strong. I see it in Seth, Orie, Linne, all those characters with somewhat lacking range. I do think that starting out, characters with the longer normals will be at an advantage, but only until people learn match-ups (Even though, a lot of strong Seth players have been popping up most out of the cast). Guess we just need to let the game develop more before we formulate opinions?
Klein Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 GG for life. And my problem is not BALANCE with UNiB, my problem is that neutral game require you actually you know, be NEUTRAL once in a while, and playing footsies instead of not even having to move to be able to hit the opponent as long as they don't jump. The above is obviously exaggerated, but too much of a good thing will always look dumb to me. Resets are a good thing, but I think Skullgirls was far too kind to them. Mixups are a good thing, but MvC and 3D fighters have mixups that're flat out too strong for me. Good, safe pokes are a good thing, but I'm not digging UNiB's. I'm not saying the game is ass from a few videos, just it's not getting me hype at all from seeing character's moves and how people play them right now.
Milln Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I got this sweet gun in Borderlands 2. Edit: Not really, I'm still <level 10. I got some neat stuff, though. Like this Gatling pistol that gets better accuracy the more you fire it, and a rifle that shoots grenades.
Alphakami Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 All cheer leaders know Gangnam Style. WTF has happened to my life. Those streams aren't supposed to cross.
Astaroth136 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I've been on that Borderlands since it released. It's too good. Dual wielding a sniper and rocket launcher while going berserk is hilarious.
Urichinan Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Guys, the official P4U frame data is supposed to be in the illustration book they released yesterday! Hopefully our legs aren't being pulled on this one. It would be nice to finally know the real data.
Milln Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Yo, for that MTNG video, unless we have the footage recorded, edited, and uploaded by THIS WEEKEND, I'm not sure if we'll have the time to use it impact attendance. If this cant happen: Instead, I suggest everyone bringing a camera that can shoot video to the venue and we'll make a "see what you missed" vid with hype, shenanigans, happy people, and gameplay. (I think we should go this regardless) So get your combos or shenanigans that you want to call your own done and submitted to either Woz or Jackie so we can get this project going. Doesn't have to be a video, you can just use notations to describe it. AND KEEP PROMOTING BOTH KING OF BLING AND THE MTNG COMMUNITY!!! Print out, USE THE FLIERS!! Talk to people!
Klein Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Yo Milln, when I'm staying with you at King Of Bling, could you teach me a thing or two about KoF? I wanna learn more about Clark/Ash/Kim in person.
Grimstar Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Anyone have Borderlands on PS3 other than myself?

Yeah, we need to get the ball rolling on this. Since I don't have any kind of super flashy editing software, I can't do cool animations and mid-video text (Like in the TYMCP2 with player names). But I can still edit the clips together with music, etc. And like Milln said, just give us some swag combos and either Jackie or myself should be able to record them.

I have Vegas 10 myself, but I A. don't have an artistic bone in my body to design graphics 'n stuff, and B. wouldn't know how to integrate them into Vegas even if I did. But I'll mess around and see what I can do. Seriously guys, if you've got any ideas, just drop 'em here. We'll work with ya.

Arson Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I sure can. *Hopping up and down* Oo, oo I wanna play, I wanna play! I play Kim. He's not hard. Hopefully I'll have leveled up considerably in KOF after Season's Beatings. I do believe we're rooming with Juicebox so I'm sure Bala and the Answer will be hanging with us and we'll get plenty of casuals in. Got lots of questions.
Kyle Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I'm cooking up (2) for you guys. One SMP & the other possibly not... just trying awesome links & shotgun blasts.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 So my ps3 resurrection was a failure. Defeated the yellow light ghetto style, only for it to warp the casing so badly that it only turns on for three minutes at a time before overheating. I've still got faith that it's salvageable, I just don't have the tools or the know-how. . . Oh well. @UNiB - Every game has some sort of mechanic that alters neutral game in its own way. Under Night's average range is probably weird, but adapting is part of picking up a new fighter, and it makes good spacing that much more crucial. I'd wait until I actually had the game before forming an opinion of the neutral game.
Jackie Chandler Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Arc System Works- "Hey everybody! Do you like Blazblue, visual novels, and dubstep? Well, do we have the solution for you!"
Seiki Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Ugghhh...god that trailer was awful. Is this Blazblue's Overture?! lol makes Overture look like game of the year.
