Fuck the console loyalty, just bought gear on Xbox...is what I should be saying right now, except common sense just snapped back into me.

I pulled out my OLD ARCADE 360 and looked at it like "is now the time?" My 360 was like "Arcade 360 rises?" Thus, I decide to humor it. So I go back into my closet, get the remaining parts of my 360, plug them in, and turn the system on. Immediately, i'm greeted with a non-HD display. So I say to myself "forgot to plug in my HDMI cable." I turn the 360 around, no HDMI port...I died

Next, I had to download this retarded patch for my Xbox, and low and behold, I didn't even have enough memroy, WITH TWO CARDS!! To download it...I died again

After that I went to the Xbox live marketplace and remembered that I needed to pay 60-70 bucks to play online, plus the however much Gear costed on Xbox....I died a third time

Finally, after all of this, I was forced to embrace the realization that I won't get to play Gear this week....so I left to go watch paint dry

I simply wished they'd start releasing fighting games on the clearly superior pc, for the glorious master race to savor, and went back to kof13. It'll come in good time.

P.S. (to any kof-ians) It surprises me how wildly different the difficulties are in the trail mode. I hardly had any trouble completing Maxima's trial mode, yet I start having troubles as soon as I try to get into Elisabeth's. I've heard Ash's are obscenely difficult.

Posted

Ash's last few are Sans Culotte combo examples. They're tough until you learn how the canceling works.

Do you guys think this is confusing to read?

http://testyourmight.com/threads/urichinans-team-combination-combo-request-thread-ttt2.25016/

I tried to make it as detailed as possible, so people wouldn't get confused when trying to request stuff. But it seems like a lot of text.

Also, before you ask why it's on TYM, it's because Tekken Zaibatsu doesn't seem to have a place for a thread like that. And neither does DL or SRK, so I put it there. :P

I would really like to see more of you more often at Kaos Theory on their Friday fight nights. This place needs more love plus it's on Friday. Cookeville peeps, yeah you have a drive, but other people make that drive or -longer- to Game Galaxy's fight nights on Tuesday of all days.

Not being grumpy, I'm only expressing the desire to see you all more often and to help KT.

Also there's a charity tournament for St. Jude's tomorrow at KT. Persona, smash, marvel, and AE.

Once I get finished moving, I'll be there every other Friday (work on Saturday morning) and I'll probably still come on many days I have to work. I'm 70 miles from Kaos, and I can still beat all of you at Gear. Get on my social and game level, staring next Friday night. <3

Klein is a a consensual sex artist at Gear now. He'll be of the rape variety soon.

Jackie's my ride, and he's always busy on Tuesdays >_> Can't even imagine the (dust)loops I'd have to jump through to drive there myself either :/ I want to go too, but it's fairly difficult

^ This. Except for the driving there myself part, because I don't even have a car.

I understand the difficulty on Tuesdays, but I'm talking about Kaos Theory, which is Fridays.

I'll always be mid-level at fighting games. I just don't have it.

"ah Milln you're just upset that you lost" well yeah, I lost in a situation I don't think I should have. Not taking anything away from my opponents but I feel I played terrible. Im not even upset, I'm just blah and morose. <link to Pokemon anime theme I wanna be the best>

Milln, you gotta calm down.

Don't damn yourself to a cage you put yourself in. Everyone has played terrible, it doesn't mean they ARE terrible.

Don't let your expectations of yourself get you down for too long.

Don't give yourself an out by saying you'll always be mid level, if artists did that we wouldn't have great artists. Don't worry so much about the quality of what you do and have some fun, like you do with Yosuke, the power will come in time as long as you worry more about just enjoying what you do, and keep at it without getting burned out on it.

I'm going to be blunt. It's easy to comfort ourselves by finding excuses for why we lost. But the reality is you lost...and it's not like you were trying to lose so something you thought you did right was wrong. So you lost in a situation you thought you shouldn't have but you did and it's because what you thought was wrong. At the end of the day it wasn't just a terrible performance it was your performance. Meaning it's not an outlier and shouldn't discount it as something you could have easily done better at if it was any other day. If you were trying to begin with and you lost then it's an indicator of your overall ability and should be really taken into account when you are trying to figure out what's wrong with your gameplay.

Basically, when you lose you deserved to lose regardless of whether you think so or not.

I see the Japanese and that's the mentality they have. Even when they lose to scrubby ass shit they don't treat it as a scrub tactic they analyze it as a strategy that was effective against them and they treat it with the same thought and care as a "high level" tactic in analyzing what they can do against it.

It's good to push yourself, but also appreciate where you are at right now. In doing so you are respecting and celebrating all the hard work you have put into getting to the point you are at now and I think that makes a person more content with who they are and gives them a more positive feel to push forward. Rather than a push that is based on "oh i suck i need to get better" kind of mentality that reduces the enjoyment of the learning process and increases frustration.

This is Naimat misinterpreting what i'm saying. I know I lost.

"So you lost in a situation you thought you shouldn't have but you did and it's because what you thought was wrong. At the end of the day it wasn't just a terrible performance it was your performance." Yeah. Ergo. I lost. I know it. I'm really hard on myself.

Edit: Oh, right. Actual results. Astaroth and I got first and second in Persona, I got first in Smash(.........) Astaroth got first in Marvel, and Phil won Street Fighter. And we donated all our winnings to St. Jude. It's for the children! All the Katawa Shoujo's! (Aw, Milln, that's a little inappropriate... and incorrect...)

In the car ride taking Astaroth home, the conversation we had made me realize why I get upset in these situations. Now that I know, it won't happen again, you all may now return to your regularly scheduled Milln.

Also, very lilly Klein, using my catchphrase. I AM SUPER CALM

Actually, Phil took his $7 and I took my $6 for winning both tournaments. You then got those winnings for gas. ROFL

I had to google katawa. I did not like what came up.
