Very weird, but not surprising. In the end it's not like people buy the game for the cutscenes anyway.

Though their perception is extremely skewed if they think people seeing cutscenes online will negatively effect sales. If anything, that was a big reason people got so excited about the game. It wasn't HD per se, but effect was brilliant. But whatever. Cutscenes mainly serve to bring in new players (more casuals etc). I don't expect the hype for Smash 4 will ever be nearly as big as it was for Brawl.

Sakurai to cut Story Mode BECAUSE THE CLIPS GOT PUT ON THE INTERNET.

So his response to fans uploading clips of Subspace Emissary on the internet...

... is to remove the mode and replace them...

... with "intro sequences" they're inevitably going to use to hype people up for the game and its roster...

... on the internet.

Its stuff like this that depresses me as a smasher, and people wonder why we mod the game.

I''m just gonna give my thoughts on that article even though this is days later. What he says kinda makes sense. the big idea of the SSE was the Nintendo teaming up against a super villain aspect, and with that is cutscenes that may come from all of that. The point of the mode was to go through and see all the cutscenes in context to the (lol) story. I can kinda see where he's coming from. Watching cutscenes on the internet with no context isn't nearly as interesting. Not that SSE was interesting at all BUTWELPY'KNOW.

Ok, that'd be a good case... if everybody watched the cutscenes online. It's the exact same premise as looking up sparknotes for a book, or reading a movie synopsis. Anybody who doesn't want to ruin the experience is going to do it -_-

As it stands though, I always felt like it could have been done better. The game design of "reward---unrelated gameplay---reward" didn't play very well at all in SSE. The level design was beyond boring, and only really had to do with the cutscenes in the locations. I think one of the big issues with it, was that you could get a better experience by watching the cutscenes alone. TBH a good game probably shouldn't be like that. :P

With that said, I'm sure SSB4 will end up being a decent game regardless. At the end of the day, people play smash because it's the game where four nintendo characters can duke it out on some ridiculous stage, and chuck items at each other. And noone has said they are going to change that.

Suddenly, i'm moving a lot sooner than originally thought.

Instead of the "Mid-late August" i've been saying, plans have suddenly changed and everything is moving beginning to end FRIDAY. Sooooo, really only Murfreesboro folks need apply to help moving. Thanks to M'Ellis, you've already volunteered and it's appreciated.

The main lawls is KO and smash community is pretty much going to be moving things cause I'm going to be at work all day, but eh alright. Be on the lookout for house party.

Does anyone have any issues, interfacing or otherwise, with having tournaments on Ps3 from now on?

Ps3 is good with me, and I will be there as much as possible friday, I have to work as well. Also If I bought buttons for my stick could anyone put them in for me, and show me a good site to get them?

Yeah we have a number of people able to tinker with sticks, and while I'm not a le to get a site right now, just don't go to lizard lick. They've been backed up since forever.

If Rollieelectronics is up, I hear from Tad that they're good. Otherwise shop Focusattack for supporting a site made for the FGC, or arcadespareparts for a foreign parts dealer. Both would have the buttons you need, but arcadespareparts didn't give me the customer service I wanted, so I shop American now :P

And there's at least four people in our scene that could help with buttons depending on what you're changing out. Just give us a heads up and we'll hook you up.

SO NO ONE HAS ANY ISSUES WITH SWITCHING TO PS3?

You all have a way to play on the console?

No reply within a week means agreeing.

If Chandler can let me use his good converter during our tournaments, I can actually use my good wireless 360 pad (since I have the wireless adapter piece for it).

This'll only apply to BBCP anyway.

I'll be happy to let you use mine, Astaroth~. Hopefully someone else in the community will be able to secure a Chronus before we inevitably have to square off in tournament, though. :P

Speaking of the Chronus, did you ever get the situation with yours figured out? I mean, they gave you a refund 'n stuff, right?

Hell no, they didn't. I tried for a full week and never talked to anyone. I also never received any email responses.

What the fuck? That is SO shady. If you've got the money, you should consider buying one through Amazon, and returning the faulty one using the Amazon order. You'll get your money back, a working Chronus, and Amazon will deal with the Chronus guys for sending a faulty product.
