Jackie Chandler Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I just learned how to do low parries in Third Strike today. I could never get them to work because I thought I had to push down-forward instead of just down. >_>; Oops. And I'll be getting some Blazblue matches up tonight. Expect hype from yours truly, especially if you missed the matches in person. :3
Seiki Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Persona was awesome. BB guys know how to make a fighter and them making Persona fighting game is like a match made in heaven. This is great fan service for me I'm going to play it most def.
Seiki Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Still haven't gotten around to getting third strike been so busy with school. I'm not even going to bother right now. School, work, and research I hardly have any time to play fighting games let alone learn a new one.
LastStarSaviour Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) The boxes are packed, the truck has been rented, and the countdown to my move begins now. Edit: I go apartment hunting tomorrow, i'll be in Nashville all day. Edited September 2, 2011 by LastStarSaviour

Alphakami Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Ha ha, you kids don't know how to parry down. Also, I'm pissed about Persona, should been Guilty Gear 3rd Strike. Salty Seiki, take it from here.
Milln Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Front post has been updated with 3SO rules and now has fancy graphics displaying what games we have and to sift through rule lists easier by slamming you in the face with a picture of the game.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 That's what I'm saying. Of course, Persona's like the second best thing, but come on. With them having the rights back, we need GG yo.
Seiki Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Tad this is for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcLEZ1ZlFzQ&feature=relmfu
LastStarSaviour Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) I'm pretty sure we won't see another GG for at least another year or two. Edited September 3, 2011 by LastStarSaviour
Astaroth136 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Chandler, you had those videos up in record time. Kudos to you.
Jackie Chandler Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Oh boy, I'm a little behind on messages. Tad- The reason I didn't think low parries in Third Strike were just down was because, hypothetically, you could mash down in some situations and get a parry for free. If you try that with mid or high parries you get a forward dash. But that was just speculation- I tried spamming down to see how many low parries I could get doing it and it was less than 25%. :P Milln- Looks awesome! Props for fancying up the OP and adding Third Strike rules. The only thing more fancy is your soon-to-be-upgraded fight stick. I can't wait to see it. :3 Astaroth- Yeah, I got lazy with the editing though. You might have noticed I didn't cut out the middle parts. :P Thanks though, I *am* happy to have them done already.
Astaroth136 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 On the subject of parries: Chandler, the game has built-in mechanics to stop "parry spam." After you input forward or down, you can parry for three frames. After those frames, there's about a 15 frame point that you CAN'T parry attempt. The devs knew parry spam could be a problem, so they designed it accordingly. On the subject of vids: Now where's Marvel?
Alphakami Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 In Second Impact, there was a technique called the Korean Duck Walk if iirc. You would tap forward, then down, the forward, then down, etc... and at the right rhythm, you would have a parry barrier (unless you hit forward on a low, or down on an overhead) Yeah, that fixed that shit. You also used to have down parries in the air as well as forward, and they would do different thing. 2I was more fun, 3S is a much better game. Naimat, link was awesome. Imma stop doing drugs nao.
Mr.Pickle Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Is melee and blazblue starting at different times now? That would be pretty cool, seeing as how I'd get to commentate more that way.
Milln Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Pickle may be the first person to notice that I changed the time slots. Yes. BlazBlue has seized Marvel's previous time slot of 5:00 and Melee remains at noon. I did this because BB takes very little time to shake down and all of us are here, anyway. I figure putting 3SO up at noon will attract more participants, as I find lots of street fighter players to be scarce during the evening, almost as if CapCom gamers are strictly diurnal.
Astaroth136 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) SF fiends usually work and come by the arcade later, from what I've noticed. Boomcube, Chris Brown, Phil, Jacob Ford, etc. ALL come to the arcade later in the day. I think we'd get at least three or four more people on average if 3S was pushed later. Wtf is this I don't even It's Eugene's fault for being crazy big, then. I'll switch times around when I get back home, then.
Jackie Chandler Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I'm glad you're changing it back Milln. I was kind of going to say what everybody else said. Do you have the brackets for MvC3, by the way? It would help tremendously knowing who all is playing for when I upload these matches, haha.
Astaroth136 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 SuperMario used team low-tier. Chris Brown used Doom. Naimat used Joe and team high-tier. I use Hulk. Tad used Thor.
