I heard that you need to time the 3c in the commentary of spark's evo11 match against Lord Knight. lol. Apparently when the stick is on its way down you can 3c and it'll lose its hitbox before it reaches you. I'll work on timing it next time I play a litchi, as that seems like the best option. Although anything I can do to punish with 5c would be really tempting.

I've also had some luck with 5c beating her DP. If the hitbox for 5c is out while Litchi DPs, it'll void the stick, protecting you from the rest of the attack while immediately hitting Litchi when her invuln wears off.

Oh, I forgot to add that you can also do counters aside from 3c on block. You can time 5D so that it'll catch Litchi if she starts getting too close as the staff hits.

Haha, I was just about to post that after watching that video. Good show.

So there's 3 options that I'll probably make part of my game after blocking the DP: CH 3c, Gurren, or 6a as the staff comes back down. I suppose it'll depend on how many stars you have to spend on a combo.

0: use 6a

1 or above: CH 3c

3 or above: Gurren

To be honest, it just a matter of which moves can come out faster with enough range to take advantage of Litchi's large horizontal hitbox at the time. That's about it. Using attacks that are practical and are good starters are what we should be capitalizing here. The fact that 3C has a 9 frame startup with amazing range and followup on CH is why it was suggested and used.
