Oh, I wasn't listing them in any particular order there, heh.

And right, I forgot about the defense section. 2C too good. :v: Winded teching would probably go here.

Oki is good too. Does that fall under tools/rtsd or does it get its own section?

What you've got listed looks alright to me.

I just imagined the explanation for 5B/2B being projectile normals having a video of Tager sledging Rachel in the face for using them. >_<

Lol. That's pretty much what I meant by it being an important note. It really sucks when you forget. Mention for situations like that your main pokes should be 2A/6B.

I guess you could also mention that you can use 5B (not so much 2B, but I guess you could try) to cancel out some projectile attacks, but it's pretty risky since if you miss it's a free CH for your opponent.

Relentless;1149303']Should put a second video of 5b canceling out Spike Chaser or something like that so people see there's also a plus side^^

True, true. xD

So is Polka's list alright with everyone?

Normals

-Shouldn't need to extensively go into all of them, just mention what's used for important stuff (poking, spacing, anti-air, etc). And some important notes like 5B/2B are projectile property, etc.

Tools

-Same, just a basic explanation of what they are and generally how they're used with a few basic examples

Neutral

-General gameplans for how Rachel works.

Zoning

-How to control space with rods/pumpkin/george etc.

Rushdown/Offense

-Pressure strings/mix up. Should also put in some corner setups too. (maybe oki setups should go here idk?)

Defense

-Don't spam 2C like a retard. Wind tech, etc. CA is your friend.

Combos

-Basic windless combo, Meterless BnB, Metered BnB, corner version

All the discussion happened while I was at class lol.

List is good. Maybe I can start capturing stuff this weekend.

Next questions are... who records what and who does the video editing? :P

Yeah we can discuss that elsewhere I suppose. I still need to get my recording equipment setup.

I missed all the video talk. :(

Anyway, speaking of recording equipment, I've been thinking about getting something for myself. The monitor I use has HDMI, DVI, and VGA inputs only. Is there a capture card out there that would work for a monitor like this? If not, I guess I could find something for my tube tv to use. :B

I actually use a capture card for recording, but I do it with an HDMI splitter (because trying to play through the capture card is rather, uh... irritating). Captures up to 1080i, but I just use 720p instead.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002SQE1O0

It occasionally drops in price. I think I got it when it was ~$70 or so.

Anyway, the main requirements for using that capture card is that your monitor (on whichever input you're using, DVI or HDMI) and graphics card have to be HDCP compliant. You can Google that up pretty easily, though.

Main caveat of using this card is that you have to use FRAPS or some third-party recording software to record footage, as the software that comes with the card does not allow recording of HDCP-protected content (which is everything that the PS3 displays; 360s don't use HDCP for games, so none of this HDCP crap matters for 360 owners).

All that said, though, capture cards can be reasonably harsh on the CPU, and FRAPS and the likes certainly aren't very kind to it either. :/

edit: for an example of recording quality, jump to somewhere in the middle of this video. The beginning got screwed up during editing. Also, it's not true 1080p (hell, I don't think I even recorded at true 720p), it just got upscaled during the rendering.

edit 2: reading over your post again, I think I missed the point. I'm not sure you can find any capture cards that take HDMI input and have passthrough to HDMI/DVI/VGA and support HDCP, but you might be able to find some that take in component and have passthrough for component. Component also has the benefit of totally not having to deal with HDCP crap.

Someone introduced me to the fail whale today. I am thoroughly amused.
