Couldnt find a general post to put this in (aside from locked one), so forgive me if theres a better place to put this. I was wondering if anyone knew if BBCSEX will be import friendly or not. By this, I mean if theres an option for english menus similar to how you can switch between jap and eng in the options for the NA version of BBCS.

Also, for anyone that imported CS, how do you deal with potential patches? Do you have to change a PS3 region or will it just auto detect updates and download them (for example, say theres a patch for a major bug within the first month, will I be able to get the patch for the import version while being on a NA PS3/the NA psn store).

Finally, does anyone know the difference between this and this version? Both have same cover and description, but one is US$ 64.90 and the other is US$ 74.49. one says ASIA for region and one has the japanese flag. ASIA is the cheaper one, but not sure if theres any difference between the two versions.

Japanese version or the asian version, the asian version probably has languages from other asian countries besides only japanese.

Personally i don't think which version matters, so i would pick the cheaper one.

edit: playasia doesn't seem to have any preorder bonuses than other webshops, but it does seem to have the cheaper game out of all the shops that i have skimmed through

I couldnt find an import site with the preorder bonuses (soundtrack primarily interested in, dont really care about phone cards or pillowcases), so just went with play-asia for cheaper price. Any links to an importer with the preorder bonuses?

After asking my brother who imports games, i found out that the asian version is overall better than the japanese version for multiple reasons:

-most of the asian versions are cheaper

-dlc are sometimes cheaper because you can use psn card from any asian region. The chinese cards are more than 10% cheaper than the japense psn cards

-sometimes there is a small paper in english included that somewhat functions as a cheap manual. You still get the original manual as well.

-more languages (usually japanese and chinese and sometimes more ): sometimes in text as well in voices. The ff13 asian version had both english and japanese voices. But the multiple voice tracks are only in the asian version that are released quite late (the ff13 asian version was released a few weeks after the US version)

He said the only reason why you should import the japanese version over the asian version is if you are a japanese purist(lol)

BlazBlue is a Fighting game, it's already import friendly :3

With Extend I'm not sure if they'll go back to the way they handled CT or CS; with the Japanese CT it had all English text and audio for everything, this was done due to how close the 2 regions were getting the game. With the Japanese CS it only contained English audio (ONLY for battles) this was done because the online servers are universal and connected and it would cause errors if a Japanese play and and American player fought with their regions default options (as the Japanese ver normally wouldn't come with English audio of any kind).

There's a strong chance they'll go with the CS method. However BB usually has English menus, so it's pretty easy to navigate and messing with options are simply trial/errors, also there is usually someone who translates menu options so it shouldn't be too bad. As far as patching goes there is nothing to worry about, the Blu-ray drive on a PS3 is region free so you can just pop the disc in, if there is an update your game will automatically detect and update. However if there's DLC be warned you can't use NA DLC on a JPN disc and vice-versa.

As far as Japanese ver vs Asian ver, this is the most common question for importers, the Asian ver can be different depending on the producers intentions, some will simply have a 2nd manual with other languages outside of Japanese, some will have more audio options, and some even have English. Honestly...if the Asian ver is cheaper, there is NOTHING wrong with getting it over the "Japanese" ver (importing is expensive, you gotta save whenever you can!)

Lastly Play Asia is kinda expensive [more expensive than most other import options] I recommend AmiAmi (especially since their shipping isn't as horrendous]

Amiami is more expensive than playasia in this case though, roughly 60 euros but i haven't bought anything from playasia to know the shipping costs. :(

edit: after checking playasia the shipping costs to my country doesn't seem to be any higher when buying from Amiami. So i don't think playasia's shippings costs are that high and it's for me not overpriced at all.

I feel even dumber for doing so .__.

but eh no regrets so far XD

(it's pretty much my other incentive to learning kanji)

And yeah playasia should come with the soundtrack CD when you preorder it, even though the preorder specials are unlisted save for the store specials (phonecards, seat cover, and dakimakura)

I plan on translating them again like I did with BBCS. :3

You might not have to. I just found mainmenu.png with a quick search. Not sure if its legit or not. Was posted during NWM yesterday.

That's just the main menu. I do everything from main options, training mode, to network options. As Arctus said that's BBCS2 for PSP. We don't even know if it's going to be that menu again. BBCS/BBCS2 JP only has the main menu and the first screen of the options in english. The rest is all Japanese.

That's BBCS2 for PSP, and it's obviously being played on an emulator

RemoteJoyLite is not a emulator. It's a PRX plugin for people with custom psp firmwares to output their display and controls to pc.

That's actually not an emulator. It's a program that let's you display your PSP on your computers (and control it with PC peripherals. You can play PSP games with stick with that program iirc).

BBCSEX build at NWM had English at the main menu, Japanese elsewhere. Not sure if that's indicative of the final Japanese build, but figured I'd mention it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, because it's been a while, but if I remember the asian version of both CS and Arcana Heart 3 (if not both, definitely one of them) wound up getting delayed by several weeks at the last minute, and people who ordered the Japanese version wound up getting it much faster. Dunno if this is a common occurrence or not, but if you're importing out of impatience, it might be something to consider.

CS JP was almost entirely in Japanese though. Navigating the training mode menu was a pain, but I got through everything else ok.

Just a small note: if you can read just Katakana, then all of the pause menus are pretty easy to navigate, save the character specific portion of the training mode menu.

@Kurushii & TheGreatReptar: Haha my bad, everytime I see a screen of that format I initially assume it's an emulator ^^;

@someonewhobodied: if you're lucky it might not be region locked like CS1, even though they claimed it to be region locked.

so just hope someone tried it, or you can always wait till the localized release

Could always just ask them through email http://www.arcsystemworks.com/contact.html I remembering them actually answering the questions about english and chinese options on JP version for CS1. Might want to consider what Devdan said as well, because a lot of sites did say the asian version was coming out same day as japan and then it didn't come out until the US release date.

Im not preordering it. I have an XB360 so I have to see if it is region locked.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, Xbox 360s are region locked. It isn't dependent on the game, it's the console. Whatever region you buy your Xbox from, the console will only play games from that region and that region only. So if you have a North American 360, it won't play games that are imported from outside of North America.

PS3s on the other hand, are region free, meaning no matter where you buy the PS3 from, it will play games from anywhere in the world.

Nope region locking is done by the disc for 360. Companies can opt for or against region coding when releasing a game before it comes out. It's sorta common in the shmup genre examples being: JP versions of Mushihimesama Futari, standard version of Espgaluda 2, Muchi Muchi Pork & Pink Sweets, Eschatos, and Bullet Soul Oh and Dondonpachi DFK/Resurrection's euro release will also be playable on US consoles.

Bah, i'll just buy it, rip it, and use XDVDmulleter to patch the region code on the disc or just manually hex edit the XBE file myself.

Hopefully it isn't an XDG3 or AP2.5 game.

Hmm, didn't know that. Great info, I'll keep that in mind for the future.

from what I understand, all the previous 360 Blazblue games were US/JP compatable for the Japan release (But not for EUR. It's region locked there.) So by that history, I think for US gamers, it should not be a problem. Not paying a 60~70 buck game instead of US price of 40 is another thing.

It's global matchmaking. It's been that way since CT, and that's what was announced for CSEX as well.
