Kamano Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I admit I planned on playing Labrys AND Aigis but those plans haven't feel threw primarily because I want to be content with my Labrys first before I move on to the next character ... also Im in a sub character crisis. I didn't express it openly but I definitely didn't expect players new to the anime community (or who weren't originally players before) to come in and start winning so easily either. The top players might as well have been predetermined the only surprise to me was the VF5 Labrys player and Mike Lorenzo with his Mitsuru (I can't comment on it specifically because I dont know Mitsuru but he was highly praised I believe) FYI Dawn is a lesbian and has a girlfriend Avery/GentlemanThief, the VF5 Labrys player, is a local to me, and the dude is seriously amazing at pretty much any fighting game he puts any time into. He told me the other day that he picked Labrys to start with in this game because he wanted a character where he had to work a bit for his wins, but sounded like he was salty after the tourney and might be switching to a different character. Watch out for him whenever he shows up to an event

Labrys was a pretty good start and whether people believe it or not you do have to work to win when your opponent isn't an idiot, he did a damn good job and was definitely solid ... I would hate to see him change but its whatever, I need a alternative character myself lol
Mechmainiac Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yo man me and Kurushii will have Gundam EXVS with us for afternight casuals can't wait to play with you again in anime fighters as well ~ Okay Krugis punk these 11 Days cant come fast enough btw do they have Ali Al Saches in GundamEXVS
DC Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) FYI Dawn is a lesbian and has a girlfriend Well aware, don't give a fuck. Watch out for him whenever he shows up to an event Tbh didn't seem like he was that great of a player. Work for wins? With braindead Labrys? lol I think just like Kanji, Labrys is a real easy character to win with against people who don't have that experience yet. The only genuinely good Lab player at the tournament was Guardian IMO. You say he's good at games? What has he ever placed in besides this tournament? Never heard of him. Edited August 20, 2012 by DC
Kamano Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Without digging very far back, 6th at Evo this year in Virtua Fighter (128+ entrants to my knowledge) 5th in CEO winterfest UMVC3 in january (~100 entrants) 9th at CEO 2012 in SFxT (yeah SFxT, but whatever it's still a tournament) As far as I know he's never really played any anime fighters before this one. All I'm sayin is, the guy is really solid, just give him some time to learn the game and he'll be a force

I'm not surprised considering you were grinding on underage girls I don't wanna hear that from a Titsuru player lolol Admittedly she is pretty damn braindead but when you face someone who actually knows what theyre doing (obviously like 80% of people currently playing don't) the match ups get pretty hard for her. IMO Gentleman Thief had a solid basic Lab, he knew his strings and his Tsurugi oki setups and different followups after the Tsurugi, he did air turn backdash j.A overheads (I don't think me or Guardian did that, then again I didn't get to watch his Lab as much as you did). He lacked match up experience in my eyes which is why he got overwhelmed against Akihiko like I did and it was probably the same case when he was playing Mystics Yu. We need tournament placings to be good ? Hold on wheres your Tournament Placing award
DC Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) My girl is 20 bro, though she does often get carded when buying R rated movie tickets. And yep, just a basic Lab player. Nothing special. Also yes, consistent tournament placements are generally a good indicator of skill level, though there are cases such as Theo/feux follets who just doesn't enter tournaments, but is easily the best player in the state. Furthermore I don't claim to be good at any fighting games, especially not Persona. That ain't no option select either, aside from my... friendly shit talking directed towards Tampa, I have never explicitly claimed to be good at any game, except for Bloody Roar. If you think that me saying a player is bad or average is implying that I am good or better than them please note that I begin or end most, if not all of my "analysis" with "I think" or "IMO." But lastly if you really do want to talk about tournament placements for some reason, I've placed top 8 at every Florida tournament I've ever entered, but mainly just 5th place and I think a couple 7th places. I'm eagerly awaiting to get completely blown up at Summer Jam this weekend. And yourself? Edited August 20, 2012 by DC
Setsuna Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 I wasn't aware you had a girl lol I can't argue with that logic, just about all of the best players in the state can't make it out to every event from what I can tell (which is mainly SoFL, Tampa and some hidden talent in Jax that can't ever make it out due to their jobs). You shit talk/troll/joke so often its hard for me to tell apart which comments are serious and which are not so sorry if I can misunderstand somethings you say :x About the same but I don't even count most of them since they're Blazblue tournaments which barely even hit 10 entrants and in those tournaments I usually get at least 3rd or 4th behind Thaitanium, Romey or Locate (or local Arakune/Teddie player).
Kurushii Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 God, if Locate would actually care to practice that nigga would be the best. :/
Setsuna Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Hes practicing in Persona 4 Arena from what I can tell, I don't think he cared so much in BB because of the lack of players ... he put more focus in Marvel.
Guardian Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I love you all. GGs. Everyone in top 8 was solid, esp for a game that's only been out for 2 weeks. granted the game is pretty easy, but top 8 was solid nonetheless. Let's stop putting each other down and start building each other up. Saying people aren't solid, they suck, etc w/o constructive feedback is about as useful as an anus on your elbow. Anyways, I think i'm done with tourneys. I have 100x more fun playing casuals and yelling silly shit like ICE MOUNTAIN
DC Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) I know it may be hard to believe, but I did have one or two alcoholic beverages this weekend. Edited August 20, 2012 by DC
2link121 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 you should put a spoiler tag saying 'imo' at the end of that sig.

Setsuna Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Coming from the one obsessed with loli anime girls? LOL. "What are you stupid ?!?! Don't mix 2D and 3D !" - Kirino Kousaka
Zero Shift Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 "What are you stupid ?!?! Don't mix 2D and 3D !" - Kirino Kousaka Face it, if there was a cosplayer that also happened to match the character's age, you'd be all over it. So anime.
