AchedSphinx Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 It's only rewarding if they're in the corner afterwards or you win the round with it. Also, I make Cabutler look like Koqn, except he breaks my limbs if I win a round. These analogies are pretty fun.
lilseph Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I make scam for life's Jin look like Tetsu. Can't beat that guy's Jin.
BeaverDeity Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Jin is probably the one matchup that I'm not 100% free to, and that's because I've played so many matches against ShelledMenace's Jin. Now I'm about 95% free to that matchup.
someonewhodied Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Why is the 2A>5B>6A>2B mixup so good? Dashing to 2A lets you have the correct spacing for 4B, 3C, 6B (For TK crescent feint OR 3C), or lets you get a free backdash but it shouldn't be as good as my opponents make it seem <.<
severin Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 remember that 4B2 blockstrings are character specific, and usually won't work at higher levels of play due to instant-blocking and use of barrier to avoid the 4B2 spacing
Legacy Edge Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 anyone has any tips for hitting 2147D? Im getting desperate here It always comes out as spike chaser, that means im late in presseing "7"? 3C>214C>236C>236D>665DD>4DD>4B>2DD>2147D>66DD>2DD> Air combo. is that one worth learning? having trouble getting the timing right
Delrian Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 If you're getting Spike Chaser from trying to TK Cresent Saber, try delaying your D press, so you actually jump.
toanenadiz Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 anyone has any tips for hitting 2147D? Im getting desperate here It always comes out as spike chaser, that means im late in presseing "7"? is that one worth learning? having trouble getting the timing right It usually means you are pressing D too early. Just try what Delrian or you could try 21478D, which should help your timing. Of course, you are just using it in a combo, you can do just 7, 8 or 9 during a jump cancelable move and then press 214D. And every combo is worth learning, if just to improve your execution. Unless they include pink throws...
lilseph Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Just practice it in training mode for a day and you'll get it down easy.
AchedSphinx Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 anyone has any tips for hitting 2147D? Im getting desperate here It always comes out as spike chaser, that means im late in presseing "7"? is that one worth learning? having trouble getting the timing right It's easy to do. Do 2147. Make sure your character has jumped. Look for the puff of white smoke under Lambda's feet. When she is off the ground you have maybe a second to press D and she will do crescent saber.
Akita Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 is that 2147 input easier on the stick, or controller? I "can" do it, although the input is more 21478D, and I can only get it off half the time... Also for the person who asked the question, having the input shown to you will help see what the controller is registering...
toanenadiz Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 It's easier on a stick for me, but I'm a pad warrior so I can also do it on pad.
BeaverDeity Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Depending on the combo or neutral game situation I alternate between 2147D, 21478D, 214789D, and 9214D for the TK Crescent input lol
Legacy Edge Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Tried it today after all your posts, and im getting good results! 214789D works for me quite good atm thanks again^^
x AJ x Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Excuse me. What is everyone's thoughts on the Tao match up in lambda perspective?
toanenadiz Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Excuse me. What is everyone's thoughts on the Tao match up in lambda perspective? This isn't really a simple question. But it is probably 6-4 in Tao's favor. It is hard to D her and Lambda doesn't have amazing tools to deal with her pressure. It can definitely be won and I honestly think it gets a lot easier the more you know about Tao's pressure. The biggest hurdle is definitely learning how to block Tao.
AchedSphinx Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I wanna talk about Lambda. So what's everyone's palette of choice?
AchedSphinx Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I've been drifting toward that Pink and White palette she has. Though it's either that or her default. Lambda is so cute as a blonde :D

The biggest hurdle is definitely learning how to block Tao. ^ This. It really helps if you know the majority of Tao's crossups and various tricks. Then it's simply reading what she'll do and countering accordingly, implying that we're in her mixup. As for the offensive, you can kill Tao in two good combos since she has barely any hp, so if you manage to lock her down the match can be won fairly quickly/easily. The more you let her move, the harder the match is for Lambda. I play against one of the best (if not the best) Taokaka in America pretty often, and I used to be really free to the matchup but now (after looking up her moves/tricks) she's fairly easy to block if you're on your toes. Also I wouldn't recommend throwing out too many swords unless Tao is really far away, as she can easily punish you/push you to the corner/lock you down/kill you if you miss since she can approach Lambda so easily. Spike chaser is pretty nice in this matchup as a zoning tool, as it can prevent certain outlets of approach and making Lambda's job a bit easier. Also as for palettes, I like her "B" palette. (The Red armor with white hair) (The one in my avatar, shoutouts to SolarMisae :3)
Delrian Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Color 10. Though today I was using Justice colors, not sure if I'll stick with them though.
AchedSphinx Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 You guys are so cool. If I was Lambda I would Act Parser and give you all a hug.exe :D Anyways, what Beave said seems legit. Spike Chaser slows the momentum of the match to Lambda's pace. It's probably the most effective thing against speedy people, because she can bait jumpouts, etc, to get some free damage. All about the timing really. Still probably 6-4. I haven't played in a few weeks though. There's a lot more to the match than that. But best thing to remember is that Tao has low HP, her drives make her vulnerable, she lacks a DP without heat, and has 4 primers. Taking advantage of that would seem like an effective strategy if you want to win consistently against her. That aside, I like the gold color as well. I call it the bling bling. It's fun :D
Legacy Edge Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 The normal one (so pretty) and recently i started using the black one occasionally
