Frank The Tank Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 That charge is literaly and most probably the hardest fucking may combo with the possible exception of iading after RR frc like a beast ino player. I think its something like 3 frame gap for it to go off correctly. This is with calculating the hit pause and the frames prior to move active frames. Unless you plan on going to ALL ggac tournaments, its not worth the 50+ hours it probably takes to learn it. just ohk 5s5hs28s x(depends on character). Even the super hard impossible dust combo that uses 6hs charge is only a small improvement over much easier dustcombos that have simular results. I disagree. I used to think this, but there are a number of reasons that you should put some time into learning the 6H-SVD stuff. First, obviously, it does more damage. Not too much more, but at high levels every little bit helps. The more important reason is that it's much harder to burst out of when done at the right height. I've gotten stuns and IKs against people that burst the SVD off of the 6H, only to fly too high up and reset themselves for full damage and full stun. It's isn't even that hard once you get the timing down.
Kyle Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Dear May Soldiers, -THX for being patient with me. It's been a unique and busy two weeks. But, I am almost back into a routine. -I didn't get the badass job I was bankin on... Yeah, that suxors. -I did however play LOADS of Gear in the Pacific Northwest, and level'd up even more. I have finally optimized my air throw game. With May's intense jumping speed, May can air throw Ky out of his aerial OKI set-ups on YOUR wake-up, it looks HOT... However, Can't air throw Diz's J.2S...bitch. -I will write the Anji guide either today or tomorrow guyz. I promise, It's a successful formula as I am confident with my ability to beat Anji. (For the record there's a video of me vs Pownzer from over a year and a half ago where I lost, but didn't effectively implement an anti-Anji strat, I kinda, just sucked it up. However, this Anji strat WORKS as I've figured it out since then) -About 6HS cancels and difficult input. I look at it this way, And honestly, you guys should too. Everyone plays games and characters for different reasons. But, as a moderator, which is more or less a teacher, I am showcasing May @ her fullest potential. As I personally strive to be the best that I can, Hell, I try to be the best in the U.S., I prioritize optimizing damage and defensive options. But, people play for different reasons. If you don't want to do EXACTLY as I say, it's all good brother. =). As a player, play your character HOWEVER you like. I am just here to guide people to her fullest potential. So, we can discuss differences and pros and cons about different situations without harshness. For example: I saw Frank-That-Tank, DESTROY an Axel @ Final Round with perfectly executed OKI of HS-Hoop, FRC, 5D mix-ups and shit. I saw Azure Phoenix play May with jumping FDC cancel mix-ups b/c of a a Chipp influence with his local community. Both play immensely different, but everyone's fulfilling their reasons of playing gear, having fun. -Now onto the most exciting news. SBO Baby. Current May's that qualified: B-1: Koichi (MI) / Endou (遠藤) (MA) / Nemo (TE) D-2: N-O (N男) (VE) / Dogura (RO) / FT (MA) F-3: YOGO (JA) / K-mura (K村) (ED) / Moriyama (森山) (MA) We have 3 this year. =) Kedako is listed under E-2 but nothing else... I wonder. Moriyama has a STRONG team with ED & JA FT/Efute has a STRONG team with N & Dogura I am SOOOOOO Excited to watch Moriyama this year. SBO PARTY WOOOT
Mitsurugi Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hey pirate mates (though not the same character), Too bad for your job. Well, keep trying, you'll eventually succeed ! Efute is NOWHERE to be seen. huh You sure FT is not the same person as Efute ? I read somewhere else and a long time ago that first it was : N-Otoko (Venom) Dogura (Robo Ky) Efute (Ky) Then it became : N-O (N男) (VE) / Dogura (RO) / FT (MA) So I assumed it was the same person. And both has different writings but are pronounced almost the same, too much to be a coincidence but I may be wrong nonetheless.
Kyle Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 HOt Damn thank you. I feel like... an American who doesn't know enough about Kanji and shit. =) Well, I feel better now that FT/Efute is around. The 3 May's I always refer to are all around. Well, Kedako hopefully will pull through as his qualifier is still going on (I think). But, think of it this way, at least he's not in the middle of Ogawa and FAB's qualifier. Actually, the more I think about it, I bet FAB will move to this tourney and leave Ogawa alone... if it's possible. For the record, while watching SBO: FT/Efute plays Sky Blue May Kedako plays Original colors May Moriyama plays Original colors May Don't worry, their play styles are drastically different. If your not laughing, than your watching Kedako. =P UPDATE- E-2 Qual is finished and winner is: eki-chan (ZA) / Shachou (社長) (ED) / Kazu (JA)... NO KEDAKO =P 23 teams recognized right now... American SBO team is announced on the 30th of June. Kedako doesn't have much longer. UPDATE AGAIN- Endou sucks, LOL http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%E9%81%A0%E8%97%A4+%28MA%29&search_type=&aq=f http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Endou+%28MA%29&search_type=&aq=f Unless these vids are REALLY REALLY old...

Free Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Hey all, this thread seems to get a lot of traffic so I figured I would come here. I just placed 1st in the AnimeNEXT Tourney with May, turns out many of the attendance are on this site. Figured I would check it out. Long time Guilty Gear player and fan, I always knew about this site but never really checked it out. So, Hi who were some players that showed up to AnimeNEXT? anyone good from dustloop Thanks for the Anji Guide Kyle.... whats the difference between anji's regular butterfly and the forcebreak butterfly besides the color? Also which character is next on the list for your guide.
Mitsurugi Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Free, there are some differences in damage, level etc but the most important thing is the Force Break Shitsu (red butterfly) is an overhead, allowing Anji to set up unblockables. The normal version is not. Note that the overhead part is only for the falling butterfly (after it touches, whether on hit or blocked), not the part when it flies horizontally. Normal Shitsu : horizontal part : block any (1 hit) falling butterfly : block any (2 hits) FB Shitsu : horizontal part : block any (1 hit) falling butterfly : block high or in the air (2 hits) For further informations, you can check Anji's frame data : http://www.dustloop.com/data/ac/anji.html
Kyle Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 ...Which character is next on the list for your guide. Well, I've been saying Ky and Eddie for a while now but realistically, that hasn't happened. Once I update all the match-up info gathered so-far we can see who has enough adequate input. Unless, someone has a specific request. I'm confident enough to do Johnny and Robot now so those will be sooner than later.
Free Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 cool thanks for the update...i will be looking forward to they robot ky guide.
ShibuyaX Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 im waiting for that testament/eddie matchup thread!
Kyle Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Testament is already done bro.. If you have something new to contribute put it in the match-up thread and I will than put it into the testament match-up guide. Upon your Eddie request, I promise he will be done next and soon. =) Update -Match-up thread info updated and cited up to date. Don't be intimidated as it is nothing NEW, it's just everything useful organized for reference...There's loads of Eddie info. Good job guys. -1st post of the 101 thread updated with a Table of Contents, It feels much more structured and gave me an opportunity to let people know where Hsien-jo's guide and everything else is My To-Do list: -update post on AC May Video thread to include good searches for Moriyama, Efute/FT, Kedako, and Endou -Eddie Match-up Guide. UPDATE AGAIN Match Video thread is updated and organized. The thread looks... useful now, Sweet.
PhaethonH Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Completely useless trivia: vs PO, if you slashback the first hit of the Heat Knuckle then Burst, you lose. If you slashback the first then second or later hit then Burst, it's Gold without the "lift" movement (eh?...). Video can be made upon request.
PhaethonH Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Vid of slashbacking and bursting. http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=mcwmjt0nd3d (mirror 1; expires in 20 days (Jul 17-ish?)) http://depositfiles.com/files/6263645 (mirror 2; expires in 30 days (Jul 26-ish?))

It's the ABA on his team LOL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsIXet5Krp4 UPDATE I retract my previous statement. The May is pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5zoh4tQeLo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n0IabZJ-v8 UPDATE AGAIN Koinuma (鯉沼) (MA) Is in SBO. D-4 block OH SHIT! Kedako & ANG are in the finals for SBO. He will pull through @ the last min. EPIC! M-ya is out, but Koinuma took his spot so we still got a May player. =P
