so who are you guys teaming with for the SBO tourney? i want a May team to win it...my money is on Frank the Tanks team...don't let me down Frank :kitty:

Well your sig is the funniest thing i have seen in quite some time. :yaaay: i liked flash metroids May at devastation but i can't do the combo that he kept on doing...finishing the dolphin loop with 2p, vertical hs dolphin... so weird.

i hold down 2 and drum p with my thumb and hs with (wtf is the finger between pinky and middle lol?) as i move from 258.\ Also there are many characters who in order for a 2p 28 hs or s to land that u first have to hit them with 5p 28s. Jam is one of these characters.

hey there everyone, Time for me to be a complete noob here, but I have a question that has been bugging me for the longest. I can't get May's standard BnB dolphin loop down, after a launch its 6S, HS, Vert dolphin. Do you have to buffer the inputs or jump cancel or something cause personally I never have enough time to charge the dolphin after the HS. Any help would be great and once again sorry for being so clueless sometimes.

Time for me to be a complete noob here, but I have a question that has been bugging me for the longest.

I can't get May's standard BnB dolphin loop down, after a launch its 6S, HS, Vert dolphin.

Do you have to buffer the inputs or jump cancel or something cause personally I never have enough time to charge the dolphin after the HS. Any help would be great and once again sorry for being so clueless sometimes.

The "hit-stun, input buffer & delaying the dolphin" give enough time to make this work.

I'm having problems being able to do the second part of the loop.

I can do the S, HS, Vertical S Dolphin part, but after the first dolphin the opponent gets pushed away too far for another S to connect. Is this just a timing issue?

Sounds like you are doing the wrong dolphin. The dolphin input is (2, 8+S)

I am using 2,8+S. The first SVD pushes them too far for anything else to connect.

Are you canceling HS into a SVD or are you linking it? In that case... does your combo "beat"?

I was watching flash at evo. He was playing may. I was happy. :) Then dumb eddies came around. Now i'm sad. :( Boo. Ironically, some people did start to get interested in GGAC around me after watching finals. :D

If you learn it this way you wont have any more problems. ohk 6(hold) 5s65hs2...8s 5s to 5hs should be almost instant.

Start charging right you hit 5HS. Should give you enough time to charge. I think you only need to charge the dolphin for like half a second. Not 2 second like in SF if that's what you're thinking about.

No. Charge the moment after you press 5h.

And yes sometimes you'll charge so fast you'll accidentally do 2h instead of 5h, try not to let that happen.

Woah, a little bit of activity. : ) Ahoy there all, made an account months ago, never did anything with it since it seemed like the whole site was dead. Anyway, I've been playing GG for a while (not much time for games in my life anymore though, which makes me sad), checking out the framerate data and such... I had played it randomly back when I first heard about GG (got #reload), but didn't get into it since no one I knew played it and because I hadn't heard of the amazing balance. Anyway, I got into it more seriously months ago when my friends picked it up. Started with Baiken figuring she'd be good to learn the game with, started working on Millia, now I want to work on May (and I eventually plan to pick up Faust - Faust, May, and Millia are my favorite characters). Coming from Baiken, I'd say my spacing is decent, and coming from Millia, I'd say I know how to mess around with May's dolphin summoning hoops on defense or oki, so I'm just working on learning her lame loop... so far in matches vs my few friends that actually play, I somehow have some sort of consistency even though I haven't been able to loop dolphins or anything... May's just that strong I guess... make up for the lack of comboing by managing to land more pokes than I should be needing to. So yeah, I think I can iron out the lame loop now that I've read around and seen some vids (wasn't doing it right to begin with) - what should I do from here? Any crazy technical stuff I should work on, or should I just practice matchups and general spacing? Any combos besides lame loop that I need to learn? Basically, does May have anything really specific to her gameplay, or is she the "if you can get 2-3 pokes by any means, you've won the match" character I think she is? You know, in comparison to Baiken's "theoretically, you can't shield pressure me" or Millia's "If I can land a poke, I end combos in knockdown and oki so you can't move for the whole game".

Honestly, your approach to Millia's ""If I can land a poke, I end combos in knockdown and oki so you can't move for the whole game" can apply to all GG. It's Millia's "5-way mix-up" that makes her strong.

I've read through it a few times, but I'll keep referencing it. Thanks though. : ) I'm the type that's always looking for MOAR, lol. Always looking for more thorough explanations and further discussion. And Millia really has that going because with her low endurance, there's a bit of pressure to not screw it up. It's heavily emphasized with her isn't it? I mean, she has her Hdisk and that ball thingie to pressure people to block on wakeup while she's doing something else. May can do the same with her Dolphins, but then she doesn't have the same crossovers Millia does, or the speed. But yeah, I'm loving actually having endurance with May, and it doesn't hurt that I don't have to combo for 15 hits to do this much damage, and I'm not even doing the combos right. : ) And thanks for writing that stuff down you guys. So... if you actually pull off that FRCed TKed RR into an airdash, what pressure string would you use?

TBH: TK RR, FRC, AD Pressure is useless. They can crouch the overhead. =P well.. not POT.

Of course it's useless! : ) That's why I want to learn it eventually. Also, I practiced a bit more... I can lame loop now. WOOT! Time to work out more setups, and possibly random crossovers or something in between the setup and the actual loop just to show off and keep it from looking so lame. Jeez... wtf does May eat? 60% combos without tension. 0.0
