That was before I was playing BB though. Just wanted to know how turnout is for BB on GGA Thursdays. Went there twice, BB is dead @ GGA.
BlinKy Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Eh you could make it work. Just use a token deck with Gutter Grime and just exile your tokens while everyone else board wipes themselves lol. It's a cool card honestly but you have to build around it. I should make a deck like that now that I think about it. I also really want Gisela. That would be an epic game winner. I want to construct a complete white and red deck that hits hard with flying and hits direct with burn spells. The sad part is I would have to go out of my way to find the right mix colored cards. like Gisela, Bassandra, a few more Lightning Helix, Scourge of the Nobilis, another Searing Meditation, and maybe a second Firemane Angel Also not to discourage going out to meets, but I would really like to netplay with other IL/MI/WI people. Love that 3-4bar connection. Besides my schedule will be somewhat hectic for the next 2-3 weeks so a nice netplay break will be all I have time for in the meantime. Blinky how far are you from IL? I have family up in WI and sometimes my cousins take the train/bus down here. Ever consider that option? Surprisingly not all that far, and busing has been an option. I just have horrible sense of direction, and poor eyesight so getting lost scares me

In fact if I look at a lighted source in a dimmed area I see a blurry after image of the lighted source, plus my depth perception is a little off

Chris Chaos Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 TIL everyone here as some kind of sight deficiency I have tiny holes at the back of my retina in my left eye that could cause blindness, I'm sure thats a deficiency.
Callisto Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Went there twice, BB is dead @ GGA. Was that awhile ago? Technically the only dead things at GGA are what people don't show up to play. I know several people who attend there regularly that have expressed interest in BB, but people need to show up to play it. It doesn't even need to be that many really, we regularly only have the same 6 players for Skullgirls and we still have a setup for that each week. As far as on the arcade floor itself, yes, they've removed the BB cabinet in favor of SFxTK but they have at least acknowledged that maybe wasn't the greatest move lol, the same amount of people play each cab but at least BB was objectively a good game.

Callisto Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 $5, I believe the actual hours are 3pm-2am, most people get there around 6-7. It's pretty crowded compared to NC because it's a very small room, but if you bring a setup you can generally find a spot for it.

Wish I could go but my mother got carjacked Thursday night and I need to deal with the cops/family and visit her in the hospital. I might still be at NC tonight, not sure.

Callisto Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Yes and no, she has two broken bones in her neck, but they were clean breaks, she has to wear one of those halo-brace things that screws into your head for a couple of months, but the doctors say she'll make a full recovery on her own. It sounds awful but it could have been a lot worse, typically carjackers don't keep the person if they only want the car and don't intend to do something to the person, so I guess it was more of a botched abduction than a carjacking, the guy was fidgeting with the seat trying to move it to his height and rolled into traffic, where a taxi nailed the car. As much as it sucks that she took a taxi to the face, it probably saved her life, because who knows what the hell the guy was planning on doing with her. Awful scenario and whatnot, but she's going to end up just fine so there's only so much to complain about. On a happier note that has much less to do with my mother and felonies, don't forget we have Windy City Showdown Prime #4 coming up next week at Nickel City! If you play non-BB games and want to join the $10 brackets come on out, it's a great time, and it'd still be possible to get a BB bracket in there if I could be assured of 8+ people showing up.
