I can think of nothing more demoralising for a new player than to end up being freighted by some quality Potemkin / Eddie / Testament / Sol Players (The ones I like brooo) Bad times are ahead.

Chazmobile Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Millia will probably be high on the list of salt inducers, those mix-ups online will be near impossible to block I swear. Unblockables will make people mad too I bet, and Nobiru and low hitting drills and FB drill. Just, Eddie in general I guess.

Potemkin, because no one will know how to avoid Slidehead, and Slayer, due to the huge amount of damage he can deal off of certain moves. I haven't touched GG except for some #R (and even that just for fun), so I'm a newbie myself, but I guess some prior knowledge will help out. I can't see people picking this game up as their first fighting game and doing well without some serious dedication though.

Like I've seen what a high level Potemkin can do and...Ugh...Same with Eddie, his high level stuff is flat out unfair, can't remember which ver. he was godlike in.

Every version apart from Slash where he got nerfed disgustingly but was still B/C tier. #Reload was the most famous one where Eddie was the broken monster of doom though. I swear the Ragna/Relius matchup needs to dead so fucking hard, I just get such a feeling of dread and hatred when I get knocked down/pressrued and I don't have 50 meter, it sucks so baaad Also, shoutouts to him having basically no mixup ;(

He can actually 5b CH Ragna out of it for free at the right range, but netplay was being netplay and I ended up getting CH every time I actually laughed my head off when you just straight jumped at me with j.C at neutral and I simply FC'd you to win the match, looked pretty funny. My main difficulty in the Ragna matchup is baiting dividers in pressure, because i'm so focused on setting up good frametraps/making you want to hit buttons it's very hard to judge when you 'll divider me out of it and knock me down>HOLYFUCKSHITIDONTHAVE50BAR! Then there's the whole universal pains of having shitty mix-up and not being able to do damage after or get oki because i've wasted so much Ignis gauge trying to get the hit in as well as getting knocked down and subsequently cursing God for it.
-Seo Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Honestly, I really shouldn't be DP'ing out of your pressure at all really, unless I have 50 meter to rapid it, because odds are I'm either going to hit you or Ignis. The same goes for hitting buttons as well, there's honestly no need for Ragna to do so, because you can just block all of Relius' pressure because of how fast Ignis' life goes, as soon as you back off we're back to Neutral, and Ragna wins there. Now that I think about it, it really doesn't sound like any fun for Relius :c I need to start looking out more for those CA's. I always expect gear super on wakeup, so I was pretty cautious about staying in after a knockdown. I should probably tech throws too, that would help with the whole not getting hit part of the game

I get a lot more fun out of having my fundamentals win me games with Gen. It's got its fair share of bullshit and the community is pretty shit, but I don't know. I honestly think it's the better game at the mo' Anyway. I want this game to be "Rebalanced" Because this game online is so boring it hurts. I play the same 3 characters erry' day and it's just all the same shit. GG + Persona cannot come soon enough to save me from this snoozefest.

YukiBlue Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Netcode still sucks on 2 bar. You need to pretty much stick to your continent. But the community itself has grown up a bit, There is no character that is head and shoulders above the rest this time like SF4 Sagat / SSF4 Cammy / AE Yun. Loving it.
